A truly spectacular place to stay while in Datong. The owner and his staff made us feel very welcome, questions and requests were attended to promptly and with a smile. When the owner asked us to treat the place like our home, he meant it, and looked after us like family. Our room was stylish, elegant and comfortable, the contemporary finish inside allowed us our modern comforts while retaining its historical facade. Our room was one of two that shared a courtyard. Although too cold to sit outside, I can see a return in warmer weather to enjoy the courtyard. The first three pictures were provided by the owner as we were too excited and forgot to take pictures of the room, but they mirror reality. The last picture was ours, and will remind us of the magical time we had here. The accommodation is a short walk to the South gate of the old city wall, close to the buzz of the shops of the old city but away from the crowds. Five star hotels can learn a thing or two about service from this establishment. We will be back.

Dit pension is absoluut fantastisch! Vijfsterrenhotelinrichting, vijfsterrenservice, viersterrenprijs en een geweldige locatie – naast de Vier Poorten, tegenover het paleis van Prins Dai en op 7-8 minuten lopen van de Huayan-tempel. Er zijn twee prima noedelrestaurants direct voor de deur; het pension heeft een ontbijtcontract met hen, waardoor er verschillende menu's worden aangeboden – de porties waren enorm voor ons zuiderlingen! Het pension heeft een kleine binnenplaats waar we comfortabel kunnen zitten, thee drinken en schrijven – erg gezellig. Any Inn was mijn eerste accommodatie tijdens mijn reis naar Shanxi. Het was bijna tien uur 's avonds toen ik aankwam in de herberg. Ik was al erg moe, maar toen ik de herberg binnenkwam, werd ik hartelijk ontvangen door de baas en de hospita zorgde ervoor dat ik me minder moe en ontspannen voelde. Het gevoel van thuiskomen is heel huiselijk. Omdat het buiten het seizoen was, waren er relatief weinig toeristen in de hele oude stad. De hospita heeft mijn kamer genereus geüpgraded naar een suite met een balkon. Ik vond vooral de inrichting van de herberg leuk, die antiek en schoon was. De herberg ligt tegenover de Huayan-tempel. Het is 200 meter lopen naar de Huayan-tempel en meer dan 100 meter naar het busstation van de Huayan-tempel. Het is ook heel dicht bij de westelijke poort van de oude stad, wat erg handig is. Ik moest de volgende ochtend vroeg de sneltrein naar de schilderachtige plek nemen. Omdat het weer begon af te koelen, reed de hospita me speciaal vroeg in de ochtend naar het Heyangmen-plein om de sneltrein naar de schilderachtige plek te nemen. Daarnaast gaf de vrouwelijke baas me ook fruit, kookte noedels en liet me een kom proberen. Het voelde echt als thuis. Renyi Inn heeft een zeer goede indruk op mij achtergelaten in Datong. Ik zal hier zeker weer kiezen de volgende keer dat ik de kans krijg om terug te keren naar Datong.

Ik heb veel onderzoek gedaan voordat ik hier kwam en zag deze B&B. Ik belde om te informeren rond 10 uur 's avonds en de gastheer was erg geduldig in het uitleggen van dingen. Ik was niet teleurgesteld toen ik aankwam. Mijn twee kinderen vonden het erg leuk. Meestal deed de tante de deur op slot, zodat de kinderen zonder zorgen in de tuin konden spelen. Toen we er bijna waren, vertelden we haar hoe laat het was. De tante zette alvast de airco aan en zette vruchtenthee klaar. Het was zo hartverwarmend. Het ontbijt was elke dag ook extreem rijk en het was erg gezellig voor het hele gezin om in de tuin te zitten en te eten. Deze B&B ligt direct naast de winkelstraat, dus u kunt gaan winkelen als u uitgaat, maar u hoort geen enkel geluid als u in de tuin bent. Het ligt heel dicht bij Zini en Longjutang, op slechts een paar minuten lopen. 's Avonds kunt u naar de stadsmuur lopen, genieten van de lichtjes en fietsen met het gezin. Huayan Temple en Shanhua Temple liggen ook in de buurt en zijn te voet bereikbaar. We took a 23-day trip through China, staying in 9 different hotels. Without hesitation, I can say that our stay at Floral stood out in many ways. First, the hotel's structure is very beautiful and has been renovated while staying true to the traditional style of the region. The hotel room itself was probably the most beautiful we had seen on our entire trip: spacious, with windows that actually opened, good air conditioning, and modern decor and furniture without being over the top. Second, the hotel's location is within the boundaries of the city wall and is part of the old town, so beautiful to walk around and see the traditional houses - many of them renovated according to the traditional style. And third and most importantly, the kindness of the people who work at the hotel. I have never felt so welcome anywhere on holiday as at this place. Unfortunately, I arrived with health problems and needed antibiotics - equivalents of the ones I had brought from Europe. I asked the reception where I could find the closest pharmacy, but rather than guiding me there, Xiao Liu, the lady at the reception, figured out for me which antibiotic would be the right one and got it for me. The same when we needed a suitcase, rather than sending me to the shop she inquired about our desired suitcase and in one hour it was there. Drinks are complementary at any time of the day, and the breakfast (Chinese and international - sandwiches) was generous and unlimited. When we were running late coming back from the grottoes and needed to catch a train, Xiao Liu helped us out by bringing us all our suitcases directly to the train station. We will never forget all these acts of kindness and we are still grateful to her and the entire hotel staff for making us feel so much at home. Datong will stay in our minds and hearts forever thanks to the people of the Floral hotel. Datong is special enough for all the incredible cultural sights you can visit - but our stay there will never be forgotten thanks to the beauty of the Floral Hotel and its amazing people. This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Datong. Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist.

We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good. Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around. What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge! If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

We brachten twee heerlijke nachten door in het Yungang Hotel in Datong. Allereerst onze diepste dankbaarheid aan Yang wen yuan - 杨文元. Toen we vanuit Europa boekten, wisten we niet goed hoeveel tijd we nodig hadden om bij de grotten en het hangende klooster te komen (een must om te zien als je in Datong bent). We dachten dat we door gebruik te maken van het openbaar vervoer beide in korte tijd konden doen. Zo fout! We kwamen aan en Yang wen yuan - 杨文元 stelde ons gerust en in minder dan 30 minuten kon hij ons helpen en een privéauto voor de volgende dag voor ons boeken. Hij maakte ons verblijf onvergetelijk. Heel erg bedankt namens ons allebei als je dit leest! Bovendien is dit hotel geweldig: supernieuw, technologisch en het personeel is supervriendelijk (van degenen in de lobby tot die in het restaurant/cafetaria). Het ontbijt is geweldig. Je kunt alles krijgen, vers voor je gemaakt.

Een zeer aangename verrassingsherberg. We besloten om op de 11e Datong te bezoeken en checkten met onze ouders en kinderen in bij Mulan Inn. Het ligt dichtbij de oude stad en Dai Wangfu, dus we kunnen er naartoe lopen. Het is er rustig in een drukke omgeving en je kunt er heerlijk uitrusten. De kamer is bovendien relatief ruim en de faciliteiten zijn erg nieuw. De baas is enthousiast en de bediening attent. De ouderen waren zeer te spreken over het hotel en de accommodatie heeft ons als gezin prachtige herinneringen opgeleverd. De volgende keer dat we hier zijn, kiezen we zeker weer voor dit hotel.
