Good location, dood service, but pretty outdated indoor layout and facilities on a WIFI date when we need charging many of our devices daily. Indoor pool was closed on my visit date without any prior / formal notice, just a girl told me that they need several days to change the water.

The location is perfect, you can easily walk around the old town and to the train station. The room is small, but the design is good and they provide many amenities. The bathroom light didn't work, but after asking they quickly sent someone up to change the bulb.

Here's an interesting fact for fellow Americans who grew up with Holiday Inn: the Holiday Inn chain in China is nothing like the Holiday Inn of old back in the States. In China, it's actually nice. Two words: free laundry. Washers, dryers and detergents. I pack a week's worth of clothing even if I'm in town for several weeks. 3rd floor, can't miss it. Breakfast is decent. The rooms are clean and smoke free is actually smoke free. Bottled water and other amenities and necessities are readily available. Wifi speed is decent. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small minimalist exercise room with dumbbells and a couple other pieces of equipment. The location....I love the location. Chenyang district is an hour North of the better known Shinan district (the seaside that you see in all the tourist Instagram crap). Line 1 metro, Didi or taxi. Within a 5 minute walk of the hotel you'll find more than a hundred restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a cinema and more. That's no joke. You could spend a couple weeks just trying them all. They're in the process of building a new metro station across the street. Right now the closest station is maybe a 10-15 min walk. And this area has more of a small city feel to it with a lot less of the tourist nonsense down by the coast. It isn't the least or most expensive hotel in the area, but it's one of the best values in my opinion.

My stay at the Qingdao Haitian Hotel was nothing short of excellent, with every aspect of the experience exceeding my expectations. The customer service was truly exceptional, standing out as a highlight of my visit. A special mention must go to an employee named CC from reception. Her attentiveness and dedication were remarkable; she ensured that everything was taken care of smoothly and promptly responded to all my questions in English, demonstrating not only professionalism but also genuine care for guests. This level of service significantly enhanced my stay, making the Qingdao Haitian Hotel a place I will undoubtedly choose again in the future. About 5 min walk from the subway station to the hotel. Some malls in the area to grab a Starbucks coffee or some food. P.S. Google map does not work in China. Download MAPS.ME. My friend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express during our trip to Qingdao. Initially, we had high expectations of the hotel especially since my friend had experienced what Holiday Inn was like in a previous city which was a very good experience. However, our expectations were no met😕 at this hotel. Overall, it was not a bad stay because the hotel was at a good location (there's a mall literally behind the hotel, lots of restaurants and 5 min walk from the subway station) and the staff at the front dest were nice. However, the food, on trip.com, it notes there's western breakfast but there was not! The breakfast was a basic Chinese breakfast so we were not satisfied with the breakfast at all. Additionally, the hotel needs to be diligent about cleaning the bathrooms. You need to actually scrub the bathroom and not just wipe it down! The shower and around the face basin had mold which was very disgusting and disturbing 🤢. Please do better! Otherwise, we had a good stay. The bed and pillows were so soft, we felt like we were sleeping on clouds 😍😁. We also loved that the lobby had free popcorn for the guests to take 😄.

I always stay at the Holiday inn when traveling to Qingdao. The staff are incredible and speak English. The facilities are nice and clean and check in is a breeze. The location is perfect for access to any facility or bar downtown

Disappointing experience due to some confusing information about the food services. When i checked in at 6pm, I was told that the main restaurant was already closing and that I should order from room service. The instructions for room service were misleading and hard to follow because of new qr codes that were not properly connected to the hotel system. The phone next to the menu (and the bed) and menu card with instructions did not work. At one point, I went down to the lobby to ask for help. After three hours of trying to get food, i gave up and left the hotel to find a restaurant. As a result, I did not have enough time to use the pool, which was my main reason for checking into the hotel for the last day of my vacation to celebrate my birthday. Someone from the front desk tried to help, but I think there was a lot of confusion about the qr codes. I could leave more details, but I will just say that later that night I found other instructions about dialling 0 later in very small print. If it had been clearer, I would not have used the QR codes which were far bigger than the text about dialling 0. The bathroom was nice, but a bit worn down. The breakfast could be better. Definitely did not feel like a Westin experience.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it was a decent experience for the price. The room was fairly clean, and the service was good, although non-Chinese speakers might encounter some challenges. The location is a bit tricky to find without a lobby; the reception is on the 6th floor. 😂 Despite these quirks, I'd say it's a reasonable choice considering the cost.
