Voordelen: 1. Het personeel was ongelooflijk vriendelijk. Iedereen die ons zag, begroette ons hartelijk. De portier bij de deur was superaardig en hield altijd de deur voor ons open. 2. Het zwembad was mooi en schoon, maar het sloot om 19.00 uur. 3. De locatie was geweldig; de kamer keek uit op de Malacca River en was op korte loopafstand van de bezienswaardigheden. Nadelen: 1. Ik boekte op basis van de hotelbeschrijving, in de veronderstelling dat het een nieuw hotel was. Bij aankomst ontdekte ik dat het een erg ouderwets hotel was, maar het had net een andere eigenaar gekregen, waardoor het als ”nieuw” werd beschouwd. Ik voelde me opgelicht. De kamer was erg oud en gedateerd. De afvoeren van de wastafel en douche waren verstopt en liepen constant onder water. De airconditioning maakte veel lawaai en lekte over de hele vloer. Het was frustrerend. 2. Ik had om een ​​rustige kamer gevraagd, maar die lag naast de lift, die erg lawaaierig was door de mensen die in en uit liepen. Ik wilde van kamer wisselen, maar na vier nachten konden ze me geen betere kamer geven.

Both my husband and l loved this place. We’ve been here many years ago and now back with a room that has a garden, beautiful, spacious, couldn’t be better.  Absolutely nice. Location very convenient, staff very friendly. Will definitely be back.

I’m here for solo trip, it is a wonderful place which should let more ppl see, the location is amazing, just cross the road can see the market. The parking is easy for me coz the parking there is easy to see ppl out and park. The toilet is super duper clean, and the. sleeping area is so quiet, everyone there is mature adult, there try to keep the most quiet they can in the sleeping area.  Common area really feel warm and cozy. There have 2 cats there is very fluffy and watch TV and gaming area. It is really a place worth to stay, will come back again if visit thai place again.

I stayed at Asiatic Hotel Melaka and booked the Family Suite with jacuzzi. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a living area, balcony, and in-room spa bath. While it’s not a true duplex layout, the suite still felt roomy and comfortable for families or groups. The jacuzzi was definitely the highlight – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. Amenities such as WiFi, smart TV, minibar, and toiletries were all provided, making the stay convenient. Parking is available in front of the hotel, free but limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you arrive during peak hours, you might need to circle around to find a spot. Location is excellent – close to major attractions like Jonker Street, A Famosa, and shopping malls (Dataran Pahlawan, Mahkota Parade). There are plenty of eateries and convenience stores nearby, so dining is not an issue even though the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant. One small downside is the soundproofing; you can sometimes hear noise from the hallway. The lift is also on the smaller side, so it can get busy during peak times. Overall, Asiatic Hotel Melaka is a great choice if you want a spacious suite with jacuzzi, free parking, and a central location. It’s comfortable and good value, especially for families or friends traveling together.

Mijn verblijf in Bayview Hotel Melaka was onvergetelijk, mede dankzij het uitzonderlijk behulpzame en vriendelijke personeel bij de receptie. De netheid was onberispelijk in het hele hotel, waarbij elke hoek de toewijding van het personeel weerspiegelde om een ​​ongerepte omgeving te behouden. Hoewel niet ultramodern, voorzag het hotel in de meeste essentiële voorzieningen, waaronder een goed onderhouden fitnessruimte en zwembadfaciliteiten. Het ouderwetse ontwerp en de sfeer voegden een charmant tintje toe en boden een kijkje in de rijke geschiedenis van Melaka. De strategische ligging in het hart van Melaka maakte het verkennen van de bezienswaardigheden van de stad moeiteloos. De ruime kamer, met adembenemend uitzicht op de drukke straten en de serene rivier, was een hoogtepunt. Het bood een gezellig toevluchtsoord na een dag sightseeing. Wat echter echt opviel, was de warmte en professionaliteit van het personeel bij de receptie. Van het inchecken tot het uitchecken stonden ze altijd klaar om te helpen met een glimlach, ze gaven waardevolle tips en zorgden ervoor dat aan al mijn behoeften snel werd voldaan. Voor degenen die op zoek zijn naar een mix van comfort, nostalgie en uitstekende gastvrijheid in Melaka, wordt Bayview Hotel Melaka ten zeerste aanbevolen.

I had a minor accident in front of the hotel lobby—I hit the cement curb/bollard in front of the hotel, resulting in a slight scratch/damage to a floor tile (and this particular tile already had several previous damages from other people hitting it before). Subsequently, an Indian staff member (identified as a supervisor by his colleague) came and took pictures of the damaged tile. The issues I have with his conduct are as follows: He started chatting with a Chinese customer while pointing out the minor damage and simultaneously pointing towards my car, smiling and chuckling slightly as if mocking or being sarcastic. Then, another Chinese man (possibly a customer or staff) approached, and he again showed the damaged tile, smiling and chuckling lightly while pointing at my car. My issue here is: there were also Malay customers present; why did he choose the Chinese customers to point out this issue to, but not the Malay customers? He then approached me and said: ”You have hit and damaged this tile, and you need to know that I will report this to the hotel owner, and you should know that the owner of this hotel is a Chinese person, and I am certain you will have to pay for the damages.” What is the implication of saying, 'the owner of this hotel is a Chinese person'? I asked why he needed to make a scene and involve other customers to talk about the incident while laughing lightly and smiling as if being condescending, and why this incident was being exaggerated when he himself was aware and had mentioned that customers frequently hit that cement curb. Is it now my turn to be made to pay for the damage, after it has been hit multiple times by other customers previously? Am I being made a scapegoat to settle the costs of previous incidents? Where is the commitment to excellent Customer Service in terms of maintaining a customer's 'dignity' or 'reputation' (air muka) in front of other patrons? He made a fuss as if I had brought down the whole building. I am attaching photos of the tile damage and other pre-existing damages.

Hotel is very conveniently located near makuta parade and 2 other malls, especially if you are going there by coach. There is a caring pharmacy just in front and many eatries around. Our 2 bedder family room was big and spacious but the carpets might need a wash and the room feels a but mouldy but we rented an air purifier that helped. Breakfast was average. Overall a good stay.

Location nice nearby restaurant and bar 🍸, Cleanliness good enough and Price affordable, enjoyed our stay, but the soundproofing wasn't great. We could hear a lot of outside noise.

It's worth more than the price, the location, the facilities. I paid less than RM50 per night (not including the RM50 deposit). The bathroom and showers are amazing. The heaters is 5/5 stars, complete with shampoo, soap, towels. We got a window with the city view. The room is big and very comfortable, the air-conditioning is fully functioning. A lot of space for prayers. I'd definitely book this hotel again, next time.

The hotel has provided the facilities as committed in their booking-page in the acceptable condition to their customer, i.e. me. Despite it is a budget hotel only and the overall appearance is slightly vintage :D, the room, the bed/mattress/blanket, bathroom, showering water heater, etc. are still clean and in acceptable condition. Besides, if communicated/spoken to the hotel, it has self check-in option for the check-in after business operation hour, i.e. mid night. Travelers can acquire the room key/card by themselves from a locker with a provided pin code. These enable me to have a good rest after making an urgent booking in night time, travel over 100km then reach the hotel at 1.30 a.m. mid night. The attached photos show the self check-in/out facility, public drinking-water-dispenser and fire extinguisher. Although I can't expect much from a budget, I would like to suggest that the air-con in the room to have service/maintenance so that it won't produce much noise. By the way, the noise only distract us slightly from having rest. After all, based on the offered/discounted price, the room is satisfactory and recommended.
