The views from the 39th floor are divine whether day or night. Service levels in the Club lounge are impeccable from each and every staff member.. so welcoming, professional with beautiful hospitality. Food selection, drinks and comfort all round. "Ging naar Mount Bromo en boekte een hotel in het centrum van Surabaya, Indonesië. Het is erg mooi. Vanwege de lange geschiedenis zijn sommige faciliteiten in de kamers oud, maar de service Het personeel is erg hartelijk en vriendelijk en serveert met een glimlach. Er is een groot winkelcentrum tegenover het hotel, wat handig is om te dineren en het lokale leven te ervaren. Het is handig en er is een heerlijk puddingrestaurant. Na terugkomst van de vulkaan moet ik even rusten. Als ik vooraf communiceer, kan ik het uitchecken uitstellen, wat erg gebruiksvriendelijk is. Mount Bromo is echt de moeite waard om te bezoeken en je kunt de schok van de natuur echt voelen."

"Extremely satisfied with my stay here. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the layout, color scheme, and decor were all excellent and eye-catching. The room was comfy; I loved it the moment I walked in, it was truly beautiful. It's directly connected to Trans Icon Mall, so it's easy to browse and find food. Het grootste probleem is dat de hardware in de kamer oud is, het badwater klein is en dat de kamer een vochtige geur heeft, hoewel de kamer eruit ziet alsof hij opnieuw is geverfd. Mensen die gevoelig zijn voor geuren moeten dit restaurant niet kiezen.
We verbleven later twee nachten in Double Tree. Omdat het hotel nieuw was, was het inderdaad in elk opzicht veel beter, maar het was een beetje ver van het winkelcentrum."

"We merely stayed for 1 night and only managed to explore the nursery / outdoor garden - everything was SO PRETTY.
Very very hospitable and helpful team - Staff offered to pack breakfast from the breakfast buffet to our room if we couldn't make it back in time after our Mt Bromo tour (we made it back in time but still grateful for the offer). Wide range of meal options aside from breakfast.
The only downside is that it's located at the top of the hill I.e extra travelling time. But tbh this place has everything and you can probably chill within the resort for 3 days to recharge away from the city. Star gazing was such a treat.
It can get pretty cold at night; Temperature in the day is already ~15-18°C.
Highly recommend to book a stay!"

AAnonymous UserI stayed here for 3 nights, and this is my honest review.
The hotel has recently reopened after a complete renovation and rebranding. The staff were excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Check-in took about five minutes because the staff member assisting me seemed new and was carefully following the procedures. I didn’t mind at all, and I was served a delicious welcome drink while waiting. After check-in, a staff member escorted me to my room.
Pros:
1. The rooms have been fully renovated and feel modern.
2. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, even at 26°C.
3. Breakfast exceeded my expectations. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the Indonesian dishes. What impressed me the most was that, even though the hotel was still very quiet and there were only a handful of guests during my stay, they still offered a full breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options. Many hotels would simply serve a limited set menu or deliver breakfast to the room when occupancy is this low, but this hotel maintained a complete buffet from end to end. I really have to give them credit for that.
4. The location is convenient, with Superindo and Indomaret within a 3-minute walk and Pakuwon Mall only about a 9-minute drive away.
5. The lobby is spacious and looks luxurious.
Cons:
1. The TV was by far my biggest disappointment. I stayed in a Deluxe Room, and the TV appeared to be left over from the previous hotel rather than replaced during the renovation. It was very small, around 32 inches, and wasn’t a Smart TV, which feels completely out of place for a hotel that claims to be five-star. The selection of TV channels was also very limited, and the picture quality was poor with noticeable static, making it quite unpleasant during my 3-night stay. The Executive Rooms have larger TVs, but based on the information I received, they are not Smart TVs either because I was told that only the Suite Rooms will have Smart TVs, and those rooms will only become available after the hotel’s grand opening. You can even notice that the hotel doesn’t include any photos of the TV in the Deluxe Room images on its booking page, which almost makes it seem like they’re avoiding showing it. Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine a genuine five-star hotel still using a 32-inch non-Smart TV in its standard guest rooms.
2. Soundproofing isn’t great. I could hear noise from the next room and the nearby mosque.
3. The Wi-Fi was very slow, and mobile signal inside the hotel was also weak.
4. The shower area had no shelf or storage space for personal toiletries, and the floor was extremely slippery. I almost slipped several times while showering. This is something the hotel should address, as it could become a safety hazard.
5. The power outlet next to the bed was already occupied by the bedside lamp, so I had to unplug it every time I wanted to charge my phone.
6. Although there were plenty of power outlets in the room, about half of them didn’t work, which was frustrating.
7. I wasn’t a fan of the pillow and bed linens. While the bed itself was comfortable, the bedsheets felt rough rather than soft. I even noticed that the underside of my arms became itchy whenever they rubbed against the fabric.
8. The hotel was very quiet during my stay. It seems many people still don’t know it has reopened, and I haven’t seen much promotion or any soft opening offers on its website and Instagram account.
Overall:
I enjoyed my stay thanks to the friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, and convenient location. However, the TV and Wi-Fi were major drawbacks, and there are still several details that don’t quite meet the standard of a true five-star hotel. At the moment, I would personally rate this hotel as 4.5 stars rather than a full 5-star property. It has great potential, and with improvements to the TVs, internet, room details, and overall quality control, I believe it could truly live up to its five-star positioning.

GGuest UserHotel is connected to a mall. Great location. Room is clean. Breakfast at Magnolia has an extensive spread. Quality of food is good, nice presentation and service by staff is excellent. Ambience at Club lounge is nice. What stands out most in this 5* hotel is the world class service rendered by all staff consistently. There is no staff that isn’t polite or helpful. Many go the extra mile to ensure that the hotel guests needs are well taken care of. Special thanks to Evan of the Club Lounge who attended to us when we checked in and Tian when we checked out, Bayu and colleagues (Conceige) who assisted us with ordering of Spikoe lapis cake and Bu Rudy, Lita and David (Magnolia) who served us at our table and Bastian and team for keeping the room clean. We highly recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserI had a very pleasant stay at Golden Tulip Holland Batu. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, and there are plenty of TV channels to choose from.
A special mention to Miss Fitri, who helped me with check-in. She was very kind, professional, and welcoming, and made the arrival experience especially smooth.
The hotel staff in general are amazing and clearly do a great job. The breakfast also offers a wide variety of options, so there is something for everyone.
The spa area is excellent, especially the jacuzzi and sauna — a great place to relax after exploring Batu.
A few things could be improved:
- On Friday and Saturday evenings, the live music at the lobby restaurant can be quite loud and is clearly audible from the rooms. Thankfully, it usually ends around 10 PM.
- There is some kind of background noise in the room 24/7 that I couldn't identify. It sounds somewhat like a distant/remote vacuum cleaner and can be noticeable when the room is otherwise quiet.
- The bed blanket could be a little thicker and warmer, especially considering the cooler temperatures at night in Batu.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The excellent staff, good rooms, great spa facilities, and varied breakfast made it a very positive experience. I would definitely consider staying here again.

WWAI TANG LESLIE LAUI first came here in 1992 when this hotel was a construction site.I was part of the design team of this hotel. I did attend this hotel opening in 1995.I was also involved in the renovation around 2017. The hotel is quite old now but still retain it's charm. The feel when I arrived was like visiting the home of an old friend. The birthday cake from the hotel is a very heart warming gesture and highly appreciated 🥰

JjetlaggerGreat solid property and performance all round.. what a great short stay we had.. from the elegant lobby and lounge area through to the beautiful spacious room with lovely views over Surabaya. Exceptionally clean with every quality amenity on offer in room and within hotel confines. The room was peacefully quiet, with a soft comforting bed. Pool and recreational area was set amongst manicured palm trees and gorgeous gardens. The pool was one of the best balanced PH levels I’ve ever swam in. Nice comfortable lounges and ample seating around with some seats submerged along in pool. The refined service level at this hotel is a solid 10/10 from reception/concierge/ room attendants and especially in Pavilion Restaurant. The quality, presentation and variety of food is outstanding at breakfast. Thank you graciously for making our special occasion so welcoming with the beautifully adorable presentation on the bed, lovely celebration cake offered along with the very personal attention from the Sous Chef and charming restaurant staff at Pavilion. Special shoutout to Restaurant ambassador Wachid whom personally escorted our plated celebratory cake to our room. Reception and concierge service was also exceptional, graciously assisting us with our missing luggage wheel dilemma.

FFamily Sweet SweetWonderful stay at Ascott Waterplace Surabaya – highly recommend!
We had a fantastic stay at Ascott Waterplace Surabaya and couldn’t have asked for more.
Location is unbeatable. Right on the waterfront with easy access to Pakuwon Mall and plenty of restaurants nearby. Everything felt convenient, and the view from the apartment was stunning, especially at night.
The apartment was spotless and very clean throughout our stay. Housekeeping was thorough, and the space felt fresh, comfortable, and well-maintained from day one.
A huge thank you to the staff for making it extra special. We mentioned it was my little girl’s birthday, and they went out of their way to prepare a lovely surprise for her. It was such a thoughtful touch that made her day and ours. The team was consistently helpful, friendly, and quick to assist with anything we needed.
If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located place in Surabaya with staff who genuinely care, Ascott Waterplace is it. We’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast: The food quality is good, with a wider variety compared to hotels in Bali, and it's not just typical 'Western' fare.
Cleanliness: There are a few minor details that could be cleaner, but it's not a deal-breaker.

The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, with easy access to restaurants, shopping malls, and attractions. The hotel itself is modern and comfortable, with spacious rooms and very comfortable beds, ensuring a good night's rest after checking in.
The staff were very friendly, warm, and proactive. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including Western, Chinese, and local specialties, all of good quality. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, with a swimming pool and gym, making it suitable for both business travelers and tourists.
Overall, it's a highly recommended hotel. Its location, room comfort, and service are all major advantages, and I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Surabaya.
