The toilet was clogged. Our key cards kept malfunctioning, and we had to get them reset several times to access our room. The facilities felt a bit worn. On a positive note, we were able to keep the same room. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the included breakfast was comprehensive, and the air conditioning worked very well.

Great location, comfortable beds, and the common areas are cozy, quiet, and spacious. The kitchen has plenty of seating and tables, and a wide array of cooking utensils. There are backpackers from all over the world, which creates a fantastic atmosphere. Sitting there, whether eating or just browsing on my phone, was incredibly comfortable and relaxing – a feeling I haven't experienced in years. If you're traveling solo to Quebec, this is the best choice.

Very unique looking decor. Everything looked new and was very clean. Super amenities. I prefer hotels to Air BnB and this had the extras like a stove, fridge, cooking pots and pans, dishes, utensils, kettle, and a N'Espresso machine. There is even a Metro grocery store around the corner and restaurants outside The downsides are that it appears to be in an ”interesting” part of town (I would not be comfortable walking alone as a woman), and stairs, no elevator. It was a challenge to bring up the luggage even to the second level. Otherwise a great place in Quebec City and within walking distance to the train station, which is why I chose it.

I stayed here alone at the end of September. The room itself felt a little old-fashioned, but I personally liked the retro atmosphere because it matched the surrounding streets and overall feel of the area. The cleanliness of the room was decent. It was not perfectly spotless, but there was nothing particularly dirty or uncomfortable that bothered me. I stayed on the third floor, and the Wi-Fi was a little weak. It occasionally disconnected, but I was still able to use it without too much trouble. Shampoo and conditioner were provided in the room. However, there were not many conditioner amenities available. There was no toothbrush provided. The hair dryer was installed in the room, but it was a very basic one. If you care about hair care or need a stronger hair dryer, I would recommend bringing your own. There was also a capsule coffee machine and a TV in the room. The bathroom was clean, and I did not notice any mold or other major cleanliness issues. There was a small temperature control unit in the room, but since it was not very cold during my stay, I did not need to use it. There were three hangers, but they were fixed in place. If you are bringing a long coat, I would recommend bringing an extra hanger of your own. An ironing board and iron were also provided. As for check-in, there was no staff present, but I was able to check in without any problems. Overall, I had a comfortable stay and personally enjoyed the retro atmosphere of the room.

This hotel has a nice aquatic area featuring both a slides in a hot tub which unfortunately arrived a little bit too late to use but looked a lot of fun and there were quite a few families making use of. The breakfast was a little bit lacking but it was still a reasonable breakfast. Generally cereals yogurt, egg and some breads. The room was Spartan and clean and did not seem powerfully scented but was lightly scented even though I had asked for no scents. It seemed a little bit soft but I still slept well. To its credit, the rooms did seem comparatively spacious and we're well appointed with both a fridge and a microwave within. I thought it was relatively easy to navigate to and from and the area despite being close to the airport was actually not very noisy. Very calm and you can get a very good rest here.

On the plus side, this hostel is in a PRIME location. We walked all over Old Quebec and loved it! The AC worked GREAT. The beds were pretty comfy. We were not very happy about the fact that we had booked a room through Trip.com that had a private bath. When we arrived they said that the reservation did not specify that, but I showed them the actual reservation and it DID say we had a private bath. They said there was nothing they could do about it and when I said that since I had PAID for a private bath I should at least get a discount, but they were unwilling to do this either. My travel partner said she heard some other people checking in another day and they had a similar problem with the shared bath, so we are wondering if it's a bait and switch thing with the hotel. We also told them the first morning that the light over the sink in our room was burned out or broken and she said they would have someone check it out when they came in. Nobody ever came. The shared bathroom was okay but could definitely be improved by adding a paper towel holder (there was a roll of paper towels sitting on the shelf for a few days, but eventually it all got used and it was not replaced before we left.

Once you enter the hotel hallway, you would know right away that it's old. The room was pretty and you would see passers-by from the window. The shower curtain was reasonably clean, not spotless, but acceptable. the hotel was very close to bus stops, Frontenac, and Dufferin terrace, and almost any destination (in Old Quebec) a tourist would love to see. Breakfast at Sagamite was lovely. The only issue I had with service was that the mode of payment for this hotel was supposedly 'Pay at the Hotel,' but my card was charged earlier before the check-in. The thing that confused me was that it was under Hotel Maison du General instead of Louisbourg so I thought I was hacked. Anyway, after some Googling and Trip.com customer service emails, we found out it was under Hotel Louisbourg. Another downside of the service is that there's no active number if u wanna contact the hotel directly. They just have the Sagamite Restaurant on the internet, where recipients there do not know anything at all about the hotel booking once u reach them.

Clean and well-appointed room. Located close to everything: Olympia Theatre, numerous restaurants, and the Place Dupuis parking lot. It was a little warm upon arrival, but once the air conditioning was turned on, the room (on the 4th floor) reached a comfortable temperature for the night. A pleasant stay at a very reasonable price.

Pros: The rooms are big, clean, comfortable, and have everything you need. The breakfast is quite abundant and varied; it would only need some boiled eggs, cheese, or another source of protein to be perfect. The reception staff are friendly and polite. Cons: The pet fee is ridiculously high ($40, and they also charge taxes on top of that, which makes no sense). Total = $46. It is the highest pet fee I paid during my trip from Montreal to Calgary. For example, in Ontario, Winnipeg, and Saskatchewan, many motels don’t even charge a pet fee. What some other places do is charge a refundable deposit in case of damages, rather than a non-refundable fee for no particular reason. For this reason, I would not return. Noise: You can hear absolutely everything from the adjacent rooms. In fact, a couple was arguing quite loudly and aggressively during my stay, including shouting, which affected my sense of safety. Staff members who were nearby at the time, should be vigilant and intervene in this kind of situation.
