De kamer was comfortabel en het was handig om er te eten. Naast de food court waren de restaurants ook goed. Voor zo'n groot hotel, met gasten en veel toeristen van over de hele wereld, is het indrukwekkend hoe goed alles georganiseerd is. Het meest indrukwekkende was toen ik mijn bagage ging ophalen bij de bagageruimte bij de Oostpoort. Een kleine bagagist met een bril vroeg me waar ik heen ging. Ik zei dat ik de Hong Kong-Macau Express nam. Hij legde me de stappen en voorzorgsmaatregelen uitgebreid uit en herhaalde het totdat ik het volledig begreep. Deze proactieve servicegeest is bewonderenswaardig! Natuurlijk is het hotel niet nieuw en de laatste renovatie dateert alweer van een tijdje geleden, dus de faciliteiten zijn wat ouder.

We stayed at the Grand Emperor Hotel in the Queen Suite and found it very suitable for a family stay. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with enough space for both adults and children to move around without feeling cramped. The bed was large and comfortable, and the overall room layout worked well for family needs. The hotel is conveniently located, with easy access to nearby attractions, shops, and dining options, which made getting around with kids much easier. Housekeeping was reliable, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, the Queen Suite offered good comfort and space for a family trip.

Overall we had an excellent stay at The Londoner and would gladly come back. The shuttle transfer from the Hengqin border was a bit confusing at first. The signage was not very clear and seemed to point in the wrong direction, and the employee at the pickup point unfortunately spoke neither Mandarin nor English. After some searching we managed to find the correct shuttle and arrived at the hotel without further problems. Once at the property we were immediately assisted by one of the staff members. Check-in can take some time since many guests arrive at the same time. If you travel as a group and request rooms on the same floor, the process may take even longer. It almost felt like receptionists had to compete with each other to secure rooms before they were assigned elsewhere. The organization seemed a little unusual, but eventually everything worked out. We were offered rooms on the same floor, which happened to be a smoking floor. The staff explained that smoke smell should not be noticeable. This turned out to be accurate. The rooms themselves had no smoke smell at all, and only a very faint smell was noticeable in the hallway. For non-smokers it is therefore perfectly manageable to stay on such a floor. The rooms themselves were excellent. They were spotless, spacious and very well equipped. Amenities included a coffee machine with capsules and creamer, more than enough drinking water, a large comfortable bed and easy-to-use electronic controls. The blackout curtains work perfectly for anyone who prefers complete darkness while sleeping. The bathroom area was also very spacious and featured a large mirror, a very nice shower, a bathtub and a Japanese-style toilet. One of our rooms was designed for disabled guests and therefore did not include a bathtub, which was perfectly fine. What stood out positively was how well the accessibility features were integrated. The bathroom was beautifully designed and did not feel like a simple retrofit, which is a very thoughtful touch for guests who need these facilities. The Londoner complex itself is huge and beautifully designed. Staff are present everywhere and are generally friendly and helpful. The complex focuses heavily on shopping and entertainment. Western food and bar options are somewhat limited, but this likely reflects the fact that Macau today caters largely to mainland Chinese visitors. We still easily found options such as the Cheesecake Factory and the Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, which served our needs well. One major advantage of the location is connectivity. From The Londoner you can walk via enclosed skybridges to the Four Seasons, The Venetian and The Parisian, and other casino resorts can be reached either on foot or with a short and inexpensive taxi ride. If you want to explore the historic Macau Peninsula, reaching the metro system from the casino complex is not entirely straightforward. However taxis are plentiful and affordable, making the trip very easy. There also appear to be public buses available, although we did not try them ourselves. Overall the hotel complex works very well as a base for visiting the other side of Macau. One small logistical note for travelers heading to Hong Kong Airport: the reception staff could only point us to bus services going to the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge terminal. Direct transfers from the hotel to Hong Kong Airport were not really available through the hotel, so we ended up arranging a private car ourselves. In practice the hotel can easily get you to the bridge terminal, but from there you will need to organize the onward journey yourself unless you book a private transfer in advance. Overall it was an incredible stay and a hotel we would happily choose again. Just keep in mind that Macau is not Las Vegas and caters much more to mainland Chinese visitors, so expectations should be adjusted accordingly.

De lobby van het hotel is buitengewoon en de kamer bevindt zich in de noordelijke vleugel, die dichter bij de Venetian ligt dan bij de zuidelijke vleugel. Er is een gang op de derde verdieping die verschillende hotels onder de Sands met elkaar verbindt, wat op regenachtige dagen helemaal geen invloed heeft. U kunt direct bij de receptie Portugese valuta wisselen zonder administratiekosten, maar de wisselkoers is hoger dan die van banken. De kamer is schoon en netjes, er is drinkwater aanwezig en de stopcontacten kunnen direct worden gebruikt zonder stekkers om te bouwen. Er rijden pendelbussen naar de haven en de luchthaven. De laatste bus van de luchthaven naar het hotel vertrekt uiterlijk om 21:00 uur en de eerste bus naar de luchthaven vertrekt om 11:00 uur. De 7e verdieping is de sightseeing-verdieping van de Eiffeltoren. Het kost 75 Portugese dollars om de top van de toren te bereiken.

Het hotel met de beste prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding in Macau, zolang je niet voor weekends kiest. Er is eten, drinken, entertainment en optredens, een pretpark en een reuzenrad. Water wereld. U kunt uw kinderen een dagje meenemen. Je kunt 12% korting krijgen door de Melco-app te downloaden en eten te bestellen. Er is ook een DONKI DONKI-supermarkt. Als je geld wilt besparen, kun je naar de supermarkt gaan en eten kopen dat verwarmd kan worden gelukkig zolang je wilt.

De kamer is ruim en schoon. De locatie is prima, vlakbij Grand Lisboa (5-15 minuten lopen) en het Senadoplein (ongeveer 20 minuten lopen). De receptie is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het personeel bij het zwembad spreekt echter niet veel Engels en we hebben daar een onaangename ervaring gehad. Het personeel gaf prioriteit aan wat ze ”de vaste Chinese oude vrouw” noemden, die daar altijd komt. Ze gedroeg zich alsof ze de eigenaar van het zwembad was en het personeel stond in een hoek te praten, naar ons te wijzen en ons aan te kijken. We wisten dat ze het over ons hadden. Toen we het zwembad in gingen, terwijl we gewoon aan de rand stonden, bleven ze ons lastigvallen met de mededeling dat we aan de andere kant moesten zijn, terwijl we gewoon in de hoek stonden en ons met onze eigen zaken bezighielden. Die oude vrouw voelde zich blijkbaar superieur en dacht dat ze de eigenaar was! We voelden ons hierdoor niet welkom, maar juist gestoord. We werden uiteindelijk boos en vertrokken. We gingen naar de doucheruimte en raakten een handdoek aan toen een oude vrouw ineens boos werd en zei dat we de handdoeken niet mochten aanraken. Ze vroeg of we uit de Filipijnen kwamen en zei dat we waarschijnlijk geholpen moesten worden en niets mochten aanraken. We waren nog geen tien seconden in de doucheruimte toen we al een verhitte discussie hadden met die onbeschofte vrouw. Het personeel bleef maar met elkaar kletsen in hun eigen taal in plaats van het misverstand tussen ons en de oude vrouw op te lossen. Ze lieten ons niet met rust alsof we er niet waren. Voordat we naar binnen gingen, zei een vriendelijke medewerker dat we handdoeken van de planken konden pakken. Later legde een medewerker uit dat die onbeschofte oude Chinese vrouwen daar vaste gasten waren en dat we hun onbeleefdheid maar moesten negeren. Ik weet niet zeker of het hotel dit soort gedrag van gasten tolereert. We voelden ons beledigd als nieuwe gasten die in jullie hotel incheckten. Jullie zogenaamde ”vaste gasten” zorgden ervoor dat jullie je ongemakkelijk en onwelkom voelden en verpestten onze ervaring in plaats van een goede. Ze kunnen duidelijk als ”klootzakken” worden bestempeld.

Great hotel with very large and comfortable room. The room was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was very nice, with a lot of choice. The location is convenient with bus just downstairs the hotel. I recommend this hotel for a stay in Macau.

Had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Macau! The room was spacious, very clean, and well-maintained, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The jacuzzi was a big highlight relaxing, and exactly what you need to unwind. 🛁✨ What really stood out was the staff who can speak Tagalog, which made communication easy and made us feel very welcome as Filipinos. The location is also great, close to key spots and very convenient for getting around Macau. Highly recommended for comfort, convenience, and great service. Will definitely stay here again!

De dame die ons incheckte was erg aardig en behulpzaam, absoluut een aanrader. De kasten in de hotelkamer waren echter nogal vreemd van stijl en riepen wat minder prettige associaties op. Bovendien hoorden we af en toe geluiden (ik weet niet waar ze vandaan kwamen). Gelukkig was ik na 27.000 stappen zo moe dat mijn slaap er niet onder leed en ik toch goed heb geslapen. Het lijkt erop dat de avondservice niet standaard is; ik moest er specifiek om vragen via de service-telefoon. De overige faciliteiten in de kamer waren gemiddeld. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid, maar ik vond het niet echt lekker; alles was vrij doorsnee. Vooral het broodje met varkensvlees was erg vies (naar mijn persoonlijke mening). De service was over het algemeen wel goed; al het personeel dat ik tegenkwam was vriendelijk.
