"Exceptional location with rooms directly facing Meili Snow Mountain! We booked for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and hopefully catch the morning sunrise (日照金山) and the weather did not disappoint!! We booked a room with a very big balcony so we could spend our morning setting up cameras from our room as opposed to go outside or up to the rooftop, though we didn’t realise it was a two- bedroom. Nonetheless the spaciousness was fantastic, very clean, tidy, with complete amenities and a very cosy TV area where we enjoyed an evening movie. Breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea was great too, with very helpful and friendly staff. A very memorable stay for us! Lastly, they even provided multiple tripods, such a sweet touch!"

"The hotel was comfortable enough for a one-night stopover before heading to Yubeng. The shower had good water pressure, and the humidifier was a nice touch given how dry it can get there. However, there are a few things that could be improved. The heating system is oddly controlled only by the owner’s phone. When we arrived, the room was freezing because the heating wasn’t on. After going out and coming back, we assumed it was central heating, but it wasn’t. I had to ask the owner to turn it on. He set it to 40°C, which sounded excessive, but it took a while to warm up. Unfortunately, it got too hot during the night, and since we had no way to adjust it ourselves (and the owner hadn’t added us on WeChat), we couldn’t change the temperature. Also, be aware that there’s a massive crane right in front of the hotel, so you’ll still need to go to the main viewpoint for a clear view — though it’s very crowded."

Although the view is not superb due to a construction infront of the hotel, it doesn’t really matter much to us as we went down to the platform view."

"The room was decent, and the view might be nice on a clear day. But if you come during the rainy season, everything is just a blur of white—definitely not worth the price. Not sure if there are any restaurants nearby, but you can order food through *******. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, with some of the dishes and bowls cracked or chipped. For such an expensive room, shouldn’t they be using new tableware?"

"De kamer had verspreide zuurstoftoevoer. Het is een nieuw hotel, dus alle voorzieningen zijn gloednieuw en de hygiëne is uitstekend, zeer schoon en fris. De locatie van het hotel is fantastisch; direct buiten zijn er talloze restaurants, en het ligt op minder dan 10 minuten lopen van het Feilai-tempel observatieplatform. Het hotel heeft ook een eigen observatieplatform dat een vergelijkbaar uitzicht biedt als dat van de Feilai-tempel, inclusief een panoramisch uitzicht op de besneeuwde Meili-berg. Die dag was het erg druk bij de Feilai-tempel, dus we haastten ons terug naar het observatieplatform van het hotel om de 'Gouden Berg in de Zonsopgang' te zien. Het observatieplatform van het hotel is uitstekend, zonder obstructies en met veel minder mensen. Bij het inchecken kregen we zelfs een eenvoudig ontbijt aangeboden, en het personeel was erg behulpzaam met onze bagage. Er is ook een parkeerplaats aanwezig."

"This is my absolute favorite hotel during my trip to China. The design is truly beautiful and full of cultural charm, with a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains - especially at sunrise. I really fell in love with the atmosphere here: cozy, calm, modern yet deeply rooted in local culture. It felt like a true vacation home, the perfect place to unwind after long days of traveling. I could see the mountains right from my balcony, but the best view is from the coffee area on the 4th floor. I also got to try several traditional activities during my stay, which made the experience even more memorable. The food was delicious - both breakfast and dinner - and despite the cold weather, the room stayed warm and incredibly comfortable. The hotel has everything you could possibly need, so you don’t even have to step outside. I'll definitely come back someday just for a relaxing getaway!"

"Room was small but ok for 4 pax not to feel v squeezy. The bathroom had a heater overhead which when turned on, makes one not feel cold immediately after a shower. Thumbs up for the nice fixture! Booked the hotel for its newly-renovated rooms and good rating, with a private rooftop that has unblocked view of Meili Snow Mountain hence dont need to walk down to Fei Lai Si viewing platform in the cold morning."

Hygiëne: schoon en netjes Omgeving: Het landschap is eersteklas. Vanuit de kamer en badkamer kun je de met sneeuw bedekte bergen zien. Service: De service is erg goed. Als je vragen hebt, kun je een bericht achterlaten op WeChat in de butlergroep. Het beste is dat je het ontbijt ook naar de kamer kunt sturen. Faciliteiten: Er is een restaurant op de eerste verdieping. De gerechten voor het diner zijn duidelijk met zorg bereid. Er is een café op de vierde verdieping met een prachtig uitzicht en je kunt naar de met sneeuw bedekte bergen kijken.

Fantastic, fabulous, and fascinating! This homestay in Benzilan is pure magic! The location is serene, the accommodation spotless, and the people—simply outstanding. Het hotel is tot stand gekomen door een samenwerking tussen China Tourism Group en Xilinyuan, met steun van de lokale overheid. De faciliteiten zijn relatief nieuw en de hotelservice is uitstekend (de wasservice verdient speciale vermelding!). Het personeel is zeer gastvrij. In de buurt zijn diverse minder bekende wandelroutes door het bos. Hoewel de lente en de zomer de populairste seizoenen zijn, biedt het bos ook een uniek winterlandschap. Het hotel is bereikbaar via een zijweg van de hoofdweg, maar het pad is niet moeilijk en geeft het een afgelegen, verborgen gevoel. Een aanrader als tussenstop tussen Shangri-La en de Meili-sneeuwberg.

This stay offers great value for money. The hotel has an excellent view of Meili Snow Mountain from its observatory deck on the 5th floor, although the view from the room is partially obstructed by a building on the right-hand side. The reception hall is impressive, and we received a warm welcome with afternoon tea, nighttime desserts, and group activities organized by the hotel, including fireworks. We were very fortunate to catch the Geminid meteor shower during our stay and were able to watch it comfortably from our room—and, of course, to admire Meili Snow Mountain at sunrise.

Lovely hotel with great view, although the weather was not good during the two days we stayed, we still had a great time despite not seeing the full meri mountains. They had promotional activities during the 5/1 holiday where we hand painted tongka, and made ******* weaving stone accessories. The staff was kind and polite. The design of the architecture is stunning, I would recommend all couples to stay at this hotel. The only downside is that nighttime dinner options are very limited, recommend guests to walk out to nearby premises to have dinner instead. The breakfast at this hotel was nice.

If you are looking for one of the most affordable ways to wake up to the breathtaking sight of the Meili Snow Mountain, look no further than FANSU at WUNONGDING. Our stay here was nothing short of incredible. The primary reason for our visit was the sacred Meili Snow mountain, and the view absolutely delivered. Waking up to that majestic panorama right outside our window was a highlight of our entire trip. For the value, it's an unbeatable location. The hospitality here is what truly sets FANSU apart. The staff are super helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel not just like guests, but like family. They created a homey and comfortable atmosphere that made it hard to leave. A special memory was made on our last evening when the staff taught us how to sing the beautiful ******* song ”FLY” by ANU. It was a spontaneous, joyful moment that we will cherish forever. A super big thank you to them for that! Regarding the food: we found the meals to be absolutely yummy and comforting. While we've seen some comments about the dinner being expensive, we found it perfectly reasonable for our usual dining expenditure, and more importantly, the quality and taste justified it. The breakfast was also lovely and set us up perfectly well for the day. We left with full hearts, amazing photos, and great memories. If you want an authentic, warm, and unforgettable experience facing the Meili Snow Mountain, we cannot recommend FANSU highly enough. Just to make it clear that the location of this hotel is not at the Meili Viewing Platform. You need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the platform to watch Meili at sunrise. The mountain that is in the background of the hotel is Baima mountain. Having said that, we loved our stay at this hotel. The cabin was nicely decorated and equipped with all amenities. We loved the bathroom! The heater was working well in the cold weather. The uncle was lovely. It was a bit hard for us to conmunicate what we wanted as we don't speak Chinese but through Wechat translation he was able to arrange a car (shared trip) to Mingyong Glacier and a private transfer back to Shangri La for us. The auntie at the breakfast was also lovely and welcoming, trying to chat with us all the time. One thing to note is that aroud the area there are a lot of construction sites (there is one opposite the hotel), so it can be dusty and noisy at times. Please check with the hotel about the construction if it is still ongoing during the time you want to visit. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you want a lovely cabin experience (with sky window!) away from the busy area. However, you won't see Meili from the hotel's windows.

As one of the rare solo travelers to Meilin, our check-in process took a little longer than usual since the staff wasn’t entirely familiar with handling overseas guests (They probably wasn't used to seeing non-locals HAHA). That said, they were extremely accommodating—they kindly invited us to rest in our room first and even enthusiastically helped carry our (very heavy) luggage upstairs. Despite our late arrival around 10 PM, the staff patiently waited for us and assisted in unloading our bags from the car, which we greatly appreciated. The hotel itself was clean and cozy. Our room was spacious and well-heated, including a warm bathroom that was a real comfort in the chilly weather. Water pressure and hot water was good. While our booking was for three people, the room was initially stocked with toiletries for two—but this was quickly resolved with a simple call to the front desk. A standout feature was the smart AI assistant (Xiao Du) in the room, which was perfect for those who enjoy convenience—controlling lights and music hands-free was a nice touch. Location-wise, the hotel is well-situated, just a short 15-minute walk to Feilai Temple. The photos on Trip were accurate, and while there wasn't a strong mountain view from our room, it didn’t detract from the overall pleasant experience. Overall, the hotel offered great service, comfort, and convenience, making it a solid choice for anyone visiting the area.

Weg: Ik reed van Lijiang helemaal naar de Meili Sneeuwberg en zocht lang online naar dit hotel. De hotels in de buurt van de Feilai Tempel waren ofwel erg oud ofwel erg duur, dus na lang zoeken koos ik dit hotel. Ik was echt verrast onderweg. Het duurt ongeveer 20 minuten om vanaf de Feilai Tempel te rijden. Ik voel me net Fujiwara Takumi, afdalend van de Feilai Tempel op 4000 meter hoogte naar het IJswijnhuis op 2200 meter. Ik raad dit hotel ten zeerste aan aan iedereen die graag over bergwegen rijdt. Deze weg is de leukste die ik ooit alleen heb gereden. Gastenkamer: Gerenoveerd in 24 jaar, erg schoon en nieuw. De dame bij de receptie gaf me ook een upgrade naar de kamer met het beste uitzicht, waar ik de Mingyong-gletsjer achter Kawagebo kan zien. Service: Omdat het geen hoogseizoen was toen ik er was, waren de koeien en paarden allemaal aan het werk en was ik na 11.00 uur de enige die nog in het hotel was. De eigenaresse nodigde me ook uit om de wijnmakerij te bezoeken, hun eigen rode wijn en ijswijn te proeven en me uit te nodigen om met hen te lunchen! Ik wil ook graag de dame bij de receptie, Zhuoma, complimenteren. Ze is enthousiast, verantwoordelijk en mooi! Zeer voordelig! Een aanrader!
