"De kamer is een panoramakamer met uitzicht op de met sneeuw bedekte bergen. Als u op het bed ligt, kunt u de met sneeuw bedekte bergen zien. Er is een kachel en een luchtbevochtiger, en de kamer is warm. Nadat ik meerdere keren met de baas had gesproken en een dag met mooi weer had uitgekozen, kon ik de gouden berg in de zon zien, zoals ik wilde. Hoewel we vanuit de kamer en vanaf het dak uitzicht hebben op de met sneeuw bedekte bergen, is dit toch niet zo mooi als wanneer we het uitzicht vanaf het observatiedek van de Feilai-tempel bewonderen. "Ik heb het oorspronkelijk op de laatste dag geboekt en het was erg goedkoop, dus ik had geen hoge verwachtingen. Maar ik had niet verwacht dat het echt goed zou zijn! De badkamer is erg groot en de drie mannen in de familiekamer waren zeer comfortabel. Het belangrijkste is dat de baas erg aardig is en ons veel heeft verteld over de Tibetaanse cultuur en het boeddhisme. De verhalen die hij ons vertelde zijn echt fascinerend. Mijn hypoxische baas gaf me ook een zuurstoffles en zei dat deze door mijn voorgangers was achtergelaten voor toekomstige generaties voordat ze hoge koorts kregen, wat me erg ontroerde. De baas tekende ook een grote taart en zei dat er in de toekomst een concert in de tuin zal zijn. Ik weet niet wanneer deze taart gerealiseerd zal worden haha"

"De kamer is groot, schoon en de eigenaar is erg vriendelijk. Uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding! Het uitzicht vanuit de kamerhoge ramen is prachtig. Ik ben vergeten een foto van de kamer te maken, deze komt overeen met de foto in de introductie van de B&B. Zet de kraan niet te hoog, anders stijgt de temperatuur van het water in de wasbak. Hoe dan ook heel goed 👍🏻"

"Excellent location, next to the bus stop where coach bus from Shangri-la will stop. And it's just 200m to the viewing platform of Meili Snow Mountain for sunrise.
The room is very clean, spacious, with heated floor, heating mattress, oxygen supply (if needed), furnishing is 5-star quality.
The owner is very helpful giving us accurate info on how to observe Meili Snow Mountain sunrise, and helped to buy the coach bus tickets back to Shangri-la. The restaurant at second floor can observe BaiMa Snow Mountain (sunset) and Meili Snow Mountain (sunrise) if you don't want to go outdoor. Highly recommended for anyone coming to FeiLaiShi."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome stay experience! The room is heated enough, not cold at all, equipped with an oxygen generator, and it is not afraid of high reaction. The projection quality is clear and it is too cool to lie down and watch a movie at night. You can watch Rizhao Jinshan 🤩🤩 on the roof. The clean bedding is comfortable and the boss is also enthusiastic. It is highly recommended!"

"The homestay owner is reliable. Can ask and help you plan your journey. I use ~90 minutes public bus from Shangrila to Benzilan village. And ask the homestay owner to arrange the share van(local people use it) for my back trip.You will feel more comfort for altitude sickness problem here."

"Room was small but ok for 4 pax not to feel v squeezy. The bathroom had a heater overhead which when turned on, makes one not feel cold immediately after a shower. Thumbs up for the nice fixture!
Booked the hotel for its newly-renovated rooms and good rating, with a private rooftop that has unblocked view of Meili Snow Mountain hence dont need to walk down to Fei Lai Si viewing platform in the cold morning."

Perfect
MMax_S02Firstly, this has to be one of the nicest places which I stayed at in Yunnan, or in China for that matter. You may be thinking that is price is good to be true, but this place performs well above what is to be expected of that price range. I was originally planning to stay elsewhere in Benzilan, but am very glad that I stayed here.
The rooms are super spacious with high ceilings and wooden furniture. The view out of my window was very green and calming. The amenities were all well-maintained and very clean. The pictures really don't do the rooms the justice that they deserve.
Secondly, and very importantly, the owner - a young Benzilan local who operates the hotel with his mother - is exceptionally kind, genuine and friendly. As a solo traveller, he helped organise transport, offered lunch, and even some of the local liquor. As far as service goes, this place remains unbeaten amongst all the places I've travelled in China.
The hotel overlooks the mountains surrounding Benzilan. In the evening, you can peacefully sit outside the hotel on its elevated terrace and quietly watch the mountains as the sun goes down.
I would not hesitate to stay again.

HHeatherSHThis was a beautiful, very high quality hotel. The furnishings and details were excellent, while being truly local and unique. Some hotels look good in photos but the quality and details not good. This hotel is exactly like in the photos, even better - quality, quality, quality. Great value for the cost. It’s a 15 min walk to the main temple area, but that’s better to enjoy the nature and scenery, and the staff will drive you if you prefer. Plus there are restaurants just a few mins away. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this one!

De eigenaar biedt zelfs een ophaal- en brengservice aan, indien beschikbaar, wat erg handig is. Het beddengoed was ook erg comfortabel; ik heb er heerlijk geslapen tijdens mijn verblijf in de Feilai-tempel. De volgende dag moest ik me haasten om de bus te halen en was ik iets vergeten, maar de eigenaar bracht het meteen naar me toe 😭. #Heel schoon, alles is nieuw

TT.estI spent just one night here, making a side trip from Shangri-La to catch the sunrise over Kawagarbo peak at Meili Snow Mountain.
The room was small but comfortable—perfect for one person. The electric blankets kept me warm and toasty in the freezing weather, especially since the room heater (an A/C unit) was quite small and took a while to heat up the space.
The location was ideal. It’s only a 5-min. walk to Feilaisi Monastery, which made it easy to reach the Feilai Temple Viewing Platform. The Meili Snow Mountain National Park Scenic Area lookout point is about a 15-min. slow walk away, in a more touristy area where you’ll also find street food and restaurants.
Breakfast is served at the small onsite restaurant. I enjoyed a bowl of vermicelli soup and a cup of hot soy milk. You can choose from several noodle options, and there were dumplings on the side as well.
When I checked out early in the morning, it was snowing, and visibility was poor. The owner noticed the foggy weather and kindly offered to let me return to my room if I changed my mind about exploring and preferred to rest instead. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness and consideration.
Overall, I had a good stay here.

LLinda PuiJust to make it clear that the location of this hotel is not at the Meili Viewing Platform. You need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the platform to watch Meili at sunrise. The mountain that is in the background of the hotel is Baima mountain.
Having said that, we loved our stay at this hotel. The cabin was nicely decorated and equipped with all amenities. We loved the bathroom! The heater was working well in the cold weather.
The uncle was lovely. It was a bit hard for us to conmunicate what we wanted as we don't speak Chinese but through Wechat translation he was able to arrange a car (shared trip) to Mingyong Glacier and a private transfer back to Shangri La for us. The auntie at the breakfast was also lovely and welcoming, trying to chat with us all the time.
One thing to note is that aroud the area there are a lot of construction sites (there is one opposite the hotel), so it can be dusty and noisy at times. Please check with the hotel about the construction if it is still ongoing during the time you want to visit.
All in all, I highly recommend this place if you want a lovely cabin experience (with sky window!) away from the busy area. However, you won't see Meili from the hotel's windows.

SSem S.We stayed here for three nights whilst exploring upper Yubeng and doing some of the hikes. The location is great with some good panoramic views of the mountains. Sunset and sunrise are both amazing from here! The service was good, friendly staff and kind people. The room is fine! We had a heater which helped a lot for the cold nights. We didn't like the disposable towels, such a waste! Also the room wasn't cleaned once in our three nights and we had to keep asking for toilet paper/towels ourselves. Apart from that everything was fine. Good vegetarian food too:)

RRosa09As one of the rare solo travelers to Meilin, our check-in process took a little longer than usual since the staff wasn’t entirely familiar with handling overseas guests (They probably wasn't used to seeing non-locals HAHA). That said, they were extremely accommodating—they kindly invited us to rest in our room first and even enthusiastically helped carry our (very heavy) luggage upstairs. Despite our late arrival around 10 PM, the staff patiently waited for us and assisted in unloading our bags from the car, which we greatly appreciated.
The hotel itself was clean and cozy. Our room was spacious and well-heated, including a warm bathroom that was a real comfort in the chilly weather. Water pressure and hot water was good. While our booking was for three people, the room was initially stocked with toiletries for two—but this was quickly resolved with a simple call to the front desk.
A standout feature was the smart AI assistant (Xiao Du) in the room, which was perfect for those who enjoy convenience—controlling lights and music hands-free was a nice touch. Location-wise, the hotel is well-situated, just a short 15-minute walk to Feilai Temple. The photos on Trip were accurate, and while there wasn't a strong mountain view from our room, it didn’t detract from the overall pleasant experience.
Overall, the hotel offered great service, comfort, and convenience, making it a solid choice for anyone visiting the area.

GGastgebruikerEen verblijf bij Youlan Homestay is echt een aanrader! Vanuit je raam heb je uitzicht op de groene bergen en bossen van Yubeng, en je kunt de ochtendmist in de bergen bewonderen. De eigenaar helpt je ook met het plannen van wandelroutes, waardoor een bezoek aan het IJsmeer en de Heilige Waterval heel gemakkelijk is. Na een wandeling kun je bovendien genieten van een warme kop gemberthee.

BBrett.Ik verbleef vier of vijf dagen in Yubeng en deze herberg beviel mij vooral. De vrouwelijke baas was erg enthousiast en legde ons enkele van onze twijfels en lokale gebruiken uit. Ze zorgde ook goed voor ons. Ze gaf me het gevoel dat ik mijn moeder was. De winkel zorgde voor eten, drinken en gegarandeerde winkels. Er is eten en ontbijt beschikbaar. Het is erg handig om een dagwandeling te boeken. Het belangrijkste is dat de locatie erg goed is. Het ligt tussen Shangyubeng en Yubeng. Het is handig voor elke route. Ik heb bijna elke route gelopen, ook de inbegrepen. De weg naar het dorp is ook toegankelijk. Deze locatie is echt geschikt. De ramen van elke kamer kijken uit op de met sneeuw bedekte bergen, wat zeer geschikt is om te bekijken. Gelukkig kan ik de zonneschijn van Jinshan zien terwijl ik in de kamer lig. Hoe dan ook, ik zag het terwijl ik lag en de ervaring was erg goed. De volgende keer hoop ik dat ik de volgende keer dat ik kom, met mijn dierbaren of breng mijn kinderen mee om de boodschap te lezen die ik in de herberg heb geschreven. Tenslotte wens ik de eigenares een voorspoedig bedrijf.
