Kim’s Youth Hostel is located in the backyard of Lower Yubeng and offers private ensuite rooms with basic shower amenities. It is about 5 mins walk to the main stretch of restaurants and shops at Lower Yubeng and 10mins walk to the transport pickup area (to Upper Yubeng/ Ninong Village). The room offers some views of the valley but is partially obstructed by buildings in front of it. Breakfast starts after 7.30am but our plans started earlier. We didn’t get the breakfast but chose to buy a 35rmb sandwich instead. The accommodation does not provide bottled water. Instead, there is a filtered water dispenser at the lobby/dining area to refill your bottles.

Fantastic, fabulous, and fascinating! This homestay in Benzilan is pure magic! The location is serene, the accommodation spotless, and the people—simply outstanding. The hosts treat you like family, always smiling and going the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. Honestly, leaving this place is the hardest part! It’s hands down my best stay in Yunnan. If you’re heading to Deqin for Meili Snow Mountain, this is a must-stay. Highly recommended!

This stay offers great value for money. The hotel has an excellent view of Meili Snow Mountain from its observatory deck on the 5th floor, although the view from the room is partially obstructed by a building on the right-hand side. The reception hall is impressive, and we received a warm welcome with afternoon tea, nighttime desserts, and group activities organized by the hotel, including fireworks. We were very fortunate to catch the Geminid meteor shower during our stay and were able to watch it comfortably from our room—and, of course, to admire Meili Snow Mountain at sunrise.

I spent just one night here, making a side trip from Shangri-La to catch the sunrise over Kawagarbo peak at Meili Snow Mountain. The room was small but comfortable—perfect for one person. The electric blankets kept me warm and toasty in the freezing weather, especially since the room heater (an A/C unit) was quite small and took a while to heat up the space. The location was ideal. It’s only a 5-min. walk to Feilaisi Monastery, which made it easy to reach the Feilai Temple Viewing Platform. The Meili Snow Mountain National Park Scenic Area lookout point is about a 15-min. slow walk away, in a more touristy area where you’ll also find street food and restaurants. Breakfast is served at the small onsite restaurant. I enjoyed a bowl of vermicelli soup and a cup of hot soy milk. You can choose from several noodle options, and there were dumplings on the side as well. When I checked out early in the morning, it was snowing, and visibility was poor. The owner noticed the foggy weather and kindly offered to let me return to my room if I changed my mind about exploring and preferred to rest instead. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness and consideration. Overall, I had a good stay here.

Het hotel is dit jaar nieuw geopend, super schoon en comfortabel. De service was uitstekend, en omdat we met een grote groep waren, kregen we zelfs een upgrade van onze kamer. Het hotel heeft een observatiedek vanwaar je een prachtig uitzicht hebt op de Meili-bergen. Hoewel we deze keer door het weer de 'Gouden Berg in de Zon' niet konden zien, laten we dat een reden zijn om terug te komen. Kortom, de omgeving en de service waren beide fantastisch.

Our stay here was nothing short of incredible. The primary reason for our visit was the sacred Meili Snow mountain, and the view absolutely delivered. Waking up to that majestic panorama right outside our window was a highlight of our entire trip. For the value, it's an unbeatable location. The hospitality here is what truly sets FANSU apart. The staff are super helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel not just like guests, but like family. They created a homey and comfortable atmosphere that made it hard to leave. A special memory was made on our last evening when the staff taught us how to sing the beautiful ******* song ”FLY” by ANU. It was a spontaneous, joyful moment that we will cherish forever. A super big thank you to them for that! Regarding the food: we found the meals to be absolutely yummy and comforting. While we've seen some comments about the dinner being expensive, we found it perfectly reasonable for our usual dining expenditure, and more importantly, the quality and taste justified it. The breakfast was also lovely and set us up perfectly well for the day. We left with full hearts, amazing photos, and great memories. If you want an authentic, warm, and unforgettable experience facing the Meili Snow Mountain, we cannot recommend FANSU highly enough. Amazing small village with warm welcoming ******* family. The whole area is very calm, not touristy. The boss lady speaks perfect English as she used to be a tourist guide. If you need any help, you should add her to WeChat. Her number is on Trip.com. The hotel is brand new and very clean. You can have a room with view to the glacier. This is the perfect basecamp for visiting the Mingyong Glacier and Yubeng. They can take you or pick you up to/from these destinations. They have a good variety food options, the kitchen is very clean. They also sell beer and local wine. We loved our stay and would stay again anytime if we come back to the region. This is real ******* hospitality.

Overall is vaule for money compared with the other hotels in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly. She explained the necessary things to know of the area and how to use the equipment in the room. The room was a bit old but understandable. There were a heater and bed warmer provided. Only thing to comment are the toletries that came in the a few sachets which will be better if they can provide in the refilled-bottle. Breakfast is normal for us which can be a bit better in terms of variety. The hotel has a good view at the rooftop but if you want to take a picture of the Snow Mountain, I still recommend to walk 5-minutes to the observation deck.

Ik verbleef vier of vijf dagen in Yubeng en deze herberg beviel mij vooral. De vrouwelijke baas was erg enthousiast en legde ons enkele van onze twijfels en lokale gebruiken uit. Het is erg handig om een ​​dagwandeling te boeken. Het belangrijkste is dat de locatie erg goed is. Het ligt tussen Shangyubeng en Yubeng. Het is handig voor elke route. Ik heb bijna elke route gelopen, ook de inbegrepen. De weg naar het dorp is ook toegankelijk. Deze locatie is echt geschikt.
