Perfect stay in the clouds resort. We spent five nights here. I am living in Chiba for 18 years. This is the best stay in hotel since I am here. The village is touristic, but authentic and quiet in night. It’s a mix of ancient village, water, nature. The dream China. The resort is perfectly located on the side of the lake. The common parts are wonderful, from the term, the garden, the courtyards. You can feel the soul of the country here, built by multiple generations. The rooms are traditional but beautiful and extremely well equipped with huge shower, Japanese toilets, huge bathtub. There is 3 courtyards, all original and authentic. You feel the heat of history. The restaurant is the best of the city, for reasonable prices and tasty and comfortable settings. On the top of it, very dedicated staff, trying their best to make us happy, nice breakfast, nice afternoon tea, tea ceremony… we can be only grateful to have the pleasure to stay here. Fast train station is just ten minutes away…

My family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise. The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site. One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days. At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us. Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

The stay at Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was remarkable. Received a call from the host (小李管家) while on the way to confirm my arrival time and needs. She even helped me arrange a driver to pick us up from the Huangshan North train station at a reasonable cost. Driver (李师傅) was friendly and gave us lots of tips while visiting Huangshan and we ended up using his services throughout the 3 days we were there. When we arrived, 小李管家 was right at the hotel entrance waiting for my for us and checkin into our rooms was a breeze. Rooms were clean with all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. Most impressive was the hotel layout and design which was very artsy and minimalist for a place like Hongcun. It was simply amazing! Me and my family especially loved the lobby and the coziness especially in front of the fireplace during winter. Hotel Location was within walking distance (200m) to Hongcun Ancient village and around 40mins drive to Huangshan mountain and around 1.5hrs drive to the Huangshan North Station or Tunxi Ancient Street. Will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and relatives if they are planning to visit Huangshan one day!!!

De kamer is ok, relatief eenvoudig en netjes, de locatie is relatief goed, de ingang van de westpoort bevindt zich in het park, het is gemakkelijk te vinden, het is erg handig om door de steegjes te slenteren, het is stil in het midden van het lawaai, het is niet luidruchtig en stil 's nachts, de eigenaar is erg aardig en enthousiast, er is een kleine kamer De binnenplaats is waar je thee kunt zetten Ik kom uit het zuiden van Fujian en de kleine binnenplaats is vooral geschikt voor mij. Het eten bij de baas is erg lekker, hoge kwaliteit en lage prijs! Bleef een nacht, lunchte en dineerde bij hem thuis. Een warme homestay die ten zeerste wordt aanbevolen, en ik zal hier blijven de volgende keer dat ik op vakantie ga.

來到宏村，路過木畫説，被院中精緻吸引，火紅的山茶花掛滿枝頭，精巧的徽派樓台亭閣，溪水潺潺，禪茶軟榻。決定停下腳步，留在這裏享受一下慢慢遊的樂趣。進得房間，推窗既望到月沼，地理位置優越。民宿裏掌櫃的小帥哥很熱情真誠，服務意識到位，又不過分攬客推銷，另一位美女是四川妹妹，燒菜很好，正在籌建美食廚房，轉天中午給我們包了薺菜餛飩，味道很地道，清香可口，讓幾日旅途負重的胃口得以修整空

Service: Laten we het eerst over de service hebben. We hadden verschillende telefoontjes voordat we aankwamen en de winkel was erg geduldig. De persoon die ons ontving was een knappe man uit Shandong, die erg aardig en enthousiast was veiligheid toen we op een vreemde plek kwamen. Omgeving: Binnenplaats nr. 1 en binnenplaats nr. 2 bevinden zich op verschillende locaties in het dorp. Binnenplaats nr. 1 is rustiger aan de kant van het dorp en biedt rust en stilte midden in de drukte relatief levendiger. Elk heeft zijn eigen kenmerken en is erg handig. Hygiëne: Het heeft onlangs geregend sinds ik terugkeerde naar Nantian, dus het getijdenpunt is begrijpelijk. De algehele gezondheid van de faciliteiten is oké.

Traveling with 2 of my friends on a fun girls trip! This was such an amazing location. We went from a sad and boring hotel in Beijing to this fantastic location and suddenly the whole trip was more fun and much more interesting. The host met us at the entrance to Hongcun and carried our luggage in the back of his little vehicle as we followed him around quaint buildings and through a narrow cobblestone walkway which was perfect for walking and pretty impressive to drive thru without scratching anything. After the beautiful walk we came through the most beautiful circle archway and into the cutest courtyard. We rented the room with a queen bed downstairs and 2 full beds up in the loft. The rooms were so cute we had to hide our luggage to do a full video tour to show our families before unpacking. The beds have mattress toppers which helped soften up the beds for us Americans. The host was very helpful and I would suggest getting WeChat to translate if you don’t speak Chinese. I don’t but it was easy to communicate. I would definitely stay at here again. Highly recommended!

Zhang Mansion is a peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of the ancient village, its decor and furnishing is fitting with the historic setting but with modern, clean and comfortable amenities. Would definitely stay again and would strongly recommend to others! Hotel manager was very communicative, but you need to have WeChat. They can communicate in English by message with you. The rooms were stunning, service was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful and comfortable. Hotel breakfast was freshly made and they were able to accommodate our requests. Some of the rooms require ascending steep stairs, so if you have accessibility needs it would be best to inform the hotel in advance. Bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. The addition of the tea ceremony area is brilliant. The mattresses and bedding were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with good pressure hot water. The hotel also put us in touch with a honest and reliable driver that we used for transfers from the bullet train station as well as a trip to Huang Shan (yellow mountain).

The property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

In general a nice relaxing stay. Good location to explore Hongcun and ancient towns. However, a little disappointed by the overall quality which is below my experience when compared to staying at other banyan tree properties. Little things like the clearness, maintenance of the property where paints are peeling etc. the most obvious is poor choice and quality of the breakfast .
