De metro van Guangzhou is een van de meest geavanceerde stedelijke metrosystemen van China. Het netwerk telt inmiddels 17 lijnen, beslaat meer dan 700 kilometer en bedient ruim 300 stations. Het netwerk bestrijkt 11 districten in de hele stad, waardoor het een handige en betrouwbare manier is om te reizen voor zowel de lokale bevolking als bezoekers.
Lijnen 1 tot en met 6 vormen de verbinding tussen de belangrijkste zakendistricten en grote vervoersknooppunten. De voorstadslijnen, zoals lijn 7 en lijn 14, reiken tot in de nabijgelegen districten, waaronder Panyu en Conghua. Lijn 3 brengt je in noordelijke richting naar de internationale luchthaven Baiyun, terwijl lijn 2, lijn 7 en lijn 22 je verbinden met het treinstation Guangzhou South, een belangrijk knooppunt voor hogesnelheidstreinen. Metrokaartjes in Guangzhou kopen
De metro van Guangzhou maakt betalen nu een stuk makkelijker voor internationale bezoekers. Alle stations, inclusief de APM-lijn, ondersteunen de vier grote buitenlandse bankkaarten (Visa, Mastercard, JCB en Discover). Je kunt simpelweg je kaart tegen de lezer houden bij elk poortje met het kaartlogo om in en uit te checken.
Je kunt ook een Single Journey Ticket (het groene plastic muntje 🟢) kopen bij de kaartautomaten op het station met contant geld of mobiele betaling. Regelmatige reizigers kunnen de officiële Guangzhou Metro-app of de WeChat- of Alipay-miniprogramma's gebruiken om een QR-code ticket te genereren voor een snelle toegang. Bezoekers kunnen bij de servicebalie ook een Yang Cheng Tong-kaart met opgeslagen waarde kopen, met een restitueerbare borg van 20 RMB, die je ook kunt gebruiken voor bussen en veerboten. 🌟 I highly recommend the Jianguo Hotel Guangzhou! It's perfect whether you're here for business or leisure.
The location is a huge advantage – it's very close to Guangzhou East Railway Station, within walking distance, and super convenient for getting around by subway. This saves a lot of time, whether you're running errands or catching a high-speed train, without having to rush back and forth.
The room was very clean, and the bedding was comfortable, allowing for a good night's rest. The front desk staff were friendly, and check-in/check-out was efficient. The biggest surprise was the Chinese restaurant on the fourth floor; the Cantonese dim sum was delicious and authentically 'old Guangzhou' style. You don't have to specially go out and queue at other tea houses; you can enjoy high-quality Cantonese dim sum right here at the hotel. It's suitable for a solo meal or a casual gathering with friends. Having dining and accommodation in one place is very convenient, fitting for both business and leisure travelers.

I've stayed here many times, and I'm so happy they upgraded me to a one-bedroom suite again this time. It was a very comfortable stay, and they even provided welcome fruits. Both the room and the living room have floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a pretty good view. The location is also very central; you can walk to Zhengjia Plaza. The location is excellent, and the front desk staff were quite welcoming. My flight was delayed, so I didn't arrive until after midnight, but they kindly extended my check-out time, which I really appreciated. The room size was decent, and there were many foreign guests staying. However, the hotel facilities are a bit old. I was taking a shower when three or four staff members knocked on my door asking if I had been smoking and triggered the smoke alarm. It was truly speechless. We booked this hotel specifically for the 40th-floor kids' club, but it turned out to be a bit of a letdown.
We came to Guangzhou with our child, and after seeing many reviews praising the Westin's indoor kids' club on the 40th floor, we decided to stay here. Unfortunately, the kids' club was quite disappointing – there was a strong, pungent smell inside. I'm not sure if it's been recently renovated, but even as an adult, I felt a bit dizzy after a few minutes, let alone letting my child play in there. On top of that, it only opens at 12 PM daily, and there wasn't a single staff member in sight, which honestly made me a bit uneasy.
However, putting the kids' club aside, the rest of the hotel was excellent. Our stay on the executive floor was very satisfying, with attentive service. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, with plenty of options for both adults and children. The location is also very convenient, close to shopping and dining. While the heated pool isn't huge, the water temperature was comfortable and perfectly adequate for children to splash around in.
Overall, if you're booking this hotel solely for the kids' club, like we did, you might want to reconsider. I hope the hotel addresses the indoor air quality issue, as health and safety are paramount when traveling with children. However, if you're here for a business trip or prioritize the executive benefits, this hotel is definitely worth staying at.VanVND 2.406.328

1. On my first night, the fridge wasn't working, so I contacted the front desk. They immediately arranged a room change and even upgraded my room type, which made my trip to Guangzhou a fantastic experience.
2. The apartment's location directly opposite Taikoo Hui is incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. There are all sorts of great food options downstairs, so you don't even have to go far to eat well.

The location is an absolute winner! The hotel has direct access to TeeMall, and it's within walking distance to Parc Central and Grandview Mall. The Sports West Road subway station is also very close, so you can shop and find food without enduring the elements – super convenient for getting around.
Check-in was very efficient, and the front desk staff were pleasant and easy to communicate with. The room was spacious with large windows offering expansive views. The mattress was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a great night's rest after a day of exploring. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, the hot water was stable, and the cleaning was meticulous, leaving it spotless and odor-free.
Amenities are comprehensive; the heated pool and gym were both fully operational. What's more, you can store your luggage for free after check-out, which is a thoughtful touch, allowing us to pick it up after we'd finished exploring the shopping districts.
This established five-star hotel truly delivers on reliability. It's suitable for both business trips and leisure travel/food adventures. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in Tianhe, Guangzhou!

The hotel's washing machines and dryers are also very convenient to use. This time, I explored more of the dining options around the hotel. There's a dim sum restaurant called Luyun Tea House in Zhengjia Plaza right next to the hotel, and their dim sum is delicious. Plus, there's a convenience store downstairs, which is super handy for grabbing things. Getting to Canton Tower is a breeze – just two or three stops on Metro Line 3. It's also quick and easy to reach attractions like Yongqing Fang and Shamian Island, taking only a few tens of minutes. The Garden Hotel Guangzhou is, by far, the most satisfying and best value-for-money hotel I've stayed in this year. Staying in a five-star, old-money style hotel is just so comfortable. All the furniture is made of high-quality solid wood, giving the entire hotel an understated yet grand and luxurious feel. The room was incredibly spacious! The front desk upgraded me to a Kapok Suite, which made the experience even better!
The entire hotel feels like a classic museum, a true grand garden. There are many dining options, including the Waterfall Restaurant on the 1st floor, Taoyuan Pavilion and Ming Shi Court on the 2nd floor, and the revolving restaurant on the 30th floor (where you can see Canton Tower). Our package included the buffet at the 30th-floor revolving restaurant and dim sum breakfast at Taoyuan Pavilion on the 2nd floor. The view from the 30th-floor restaurant is fantastic! It's a shame it was typhoon weather during my visit; I definitely need to go back on a clear, sunny day next time. The dim sum breakfast was also delicious, and the small dishes were exquisite.

This is a classic hotel in the heart of Guangzhou, and its location is really good. The exterior also looks quite grand. The rooms are spacious, and the views from them are very nice. You can also go up to the 63rd floor for an even better view. Breakfast was decent, but it was a shame that during my three-day stay, the noodle station only had a chef on the last morning. I found the front desk service quite subpar. I waited in line for ages, and several male receptionists kept ignoring me or shunting me to a different queue. They were busy chatting casually with the guests in front of them and didn't bother calling the next person. They spent half an hour on pointless conversation, and it felt like it would never end. I was so annoyed waiting that they finally called out a female receptionist from the back to help me with my room card. Also, in the lobby, we were dragging our luggage around, and no staff member came over to offer assistance. Overall, I felt there was hardly any service.
There's no self-service laundry room, which I think is a significant drawback. Since there are no room service robots, I had to go up and down to collect my food orders every time, which was a real hassle.
The room hygiene was good, but I find it incredibly stingy for a five-star hotel to charge for a tiny bit of coke and other items in the minibar. Many hotels now offer complimentary minibars.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou. From the moment I arrived, everything was exceptional — from the elegant surroundings to the warm and attentive service.
The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy a restful night after a long day exploring Guangzhou.
What truly stood out was the hospitality. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive to every detail. The service felt personal and thoughtful without ever being intrusive.
The hotel’s location is also excellent, making it convenient to explore the city while still providing a peaceful and luxurious retreat. The overall atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, and I particularly enjoyed the attention to detail throughout the hotel.

The room was clean and the facilities were relatively new, with a nice view outside the window. Overall, it still had an old-money vibe, as the hotel's age is undeniable, and even renovations have their limitations. I particularly want to mention the faucet in the bathroom sink – it didn't have a filter, and the spout was quite high, so water splashed everywhere when turned on. The instant coffee in the room was terrible, though the coffee machine in the buffet restaurant was decent. For the buffet lunch, the desserts, ice cream, and fruit were good, but the main courses were mediocre. The sashimi always had a long line, and its presentation was a bit lacking.

This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. A big shout-out to Guangzhou's excellent management; the order was fantastic! The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island. As I arrived late and realised even later that I was really really bothered by it I didn't ask to change but I told the manager during check out and he was very attentive. The bed side usb/charging hub did not work properly, only the USB C worked, the other two showed the lightning bolt on my phones, but I woke up to both of them at 9%! The only downsides are that the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are a bit dated. The air conditioner in our room was leaking, but Xiao Lin was incredibly helpful and quickly arranged a room change. However, the new room was quite noisy due to its proximity to the road and ongoing subway construction. The room had large windows. The breakfast leaned towards Western style; it wouldn't be worth it if paid for separately, especially compared to the excellent dim sum (Cantonese morning tea) readily available throughout Guangzhou. I took my mom to Guangzhou, and it truly exceeded our expectations! My mom kept asking me how I found this hotel. It's surrounded by malls, and the moment we arrived, all the fatigue from our journey melted away, replaced by the soothing sound of flowing water. The hotel staff were all incredibly attentive. The front desk ladies always greeted us with genuine smiles, and the bellmen on the first floor were always quick to open and close our car doors. The housekeeping sisters not only cleaned thoroughly but were also very detailed and warm. This hotel made me fall in love with the city. Every time we returned to our room after being out, the air conditioning was perfectly cool, ensuring a good, quiet night's sleep. The hotel's breakfast milk tea was a bit cold; it would be perfect if it were warmer. The XO sauce fried pig intestine noodles were incredibly delicious, with a texture similar to dry-fried beef noodles. My mom loved the hotel's glutinous rice chicken. The restaurant staff were always quick to clear our trash and were always there when needed. The shower in the hotel room was fantastic; showering felt like therapy. I absolutely love this hotel! This time, we celebrated our anniversary by staying in an Executive Room at the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou, and the overall experience was excellent. As soon as we got out of the car, the bellboy promptly came over to help with our luggage, and then we checked in directly at the Executive Lounge. It was very efficient, and we didn't have to wait in line at the main lobby. The hotel had thoughtfully prepared a card and a cake to celebrate our anniversary, which was a very nice touch.
What left the deepest impression was the service. No matter where we were in the hotel, every staff member we encountered greeted us kindly, making us feel right at home. I'd especially like to commend Nicolo from the Executive Lounge, Oriental Club. From the moment we checked in, he was incredibly welcoming. Every time we visited the Executive Lounge, he remembered our names and always chatted with us pleasantly, with a smile on his face. His service was professional and friendly, adding many wonderful memories to our trip.
Additionally, Yamy and Silvia, who handled our check-out at the Executive Lounge, proactively asked if we wanted to pack some drinks and also gave us a refrigerator magnet.
The only thing that needs improvement is the late check-out policy. The front desk initially told me that it depended on availability and was generally not possible, and in the end, they could only extend it until 2 PM. Considering that hotels of a similar caliber usually offer more flexible late check-out options, I hope the hotel will actively consider extending the late check-out time.VanVND 5.604.415

Traveling with kids, I communicated with the hotel beforehand for a fun children's setup. The kids loved the tent 🏕️, but they found the camel 🐫 toy plushie a bit too ugly.
The bellhop helped with our luggage, and the housekeeping auntie, seeing the messy room, even proactively asked if we needed it tidied, which was really heartwarming.
The lifeguard at the outdoor pool was also very responsible, providing attentive and detailed service. Aside from the restaurant taking a while to serve during peak hours, everything else was excellent, and the overall service was fantastic 👍👍👍. The hotel is wow!
They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit.
Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need.
The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room.
Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least.
