"De incheckervaring is erg goed. Het hotel ligt op een goede locatie en is goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer. Er zijn veel bezienswaardigheden in de buurt, waardoor u tijd bespaart met taxi's en files. Een standaard vijfsterrenhotel met complete faciliteiten, goed onderhouden en unieke accenten. Deze keer verbleven we in een kamer aan de noordkant met uitzicht op het Damingmeer in de verte. Het uitzicht was heel weids en maakte ons blij. Het is ook de moeite waard om te vermelden dat de service van het hotel geweldig is. De receptie is zeer efficiënt, de kamer wordt snel beantwoord en de kwaliteitsmanager Connie is hartelijk en gastvrij, waardoor mensen zich op hun gemak voelen en zorgzaam zijn. Als ik in de toekomst naar Jinan kom, zal ik nog steeds voor Jinan Luneng Guihe InterContinental Hotel kiezen"

"I have no complaints about the hotel. We liked the interruption at your place. Very friendly, kind staff. The rooms are clean and everything is functional. You even asked during the cleaning of the room, usually in other hotels the cleaning comes by itself and knocks on the door, while the guests sleep. Your hotel respects the rest of guests and it's nice! Lunch tea and other bonuses for guests are also pleasant. We put the fruit in the room and changed the refrigerator on time. There were queues in the canteen in the morning, but now there are holidays and there are a lot of people in the hotel, it's understandable. There is a lot of food in the dining room, in most cases it is Chinese, but foreigners can also find something to eat for themselves. Thank you for your care and good rest🙏🏻💞"

"The hotel had an exclusive feel, with rooms located on the upper floors, offering great views. However, the check-in was on the 51st floor, while our room was on a lower level. This meant we had to change elevators every time we left or returned, which was a bit inconvenient—especially since we were traveling with an elderly family member. We were celebrating my grandmother's birthday, and the hotel made a lovely gesture by arranging balloons and a cake, which we really appreciated. On the downside, the bed in our room was stained when we arrived, but the staff responded quickly and changed it immediately upon request. Breakfast was somewhat limited, so we opted to dine at MGM instead. That said, the swimming facilities, steam room, and rain shower were standout features and added a nice touch to the overall experience."

"I found what looked like an engorged tick or bedbug crawling up my bed. The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la."

"Excellent stay experience. A hotel brand stands true for its reputation. My request for early check in was considered without any hassle. Was pleasantly surprised especially after a long journey. Could not use other services such as spa, gym etc. breakfast varied and really delicious ! Loved the design of room balcony and the view very much ! In room dining was quick and pleasant."

"The hotel is very clean and in a prime location connecting to a mall next door. The housekeepers are also very accommodating. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet very much as there is a large variety of choices. The receptionist Maggie Wu was very helpful, thank you!"

"錯峯旅個遊，酒店新開沒多久本來怕有味道，不過一進房間還好，基本聞不到味道，酒店隔壁就是萬達出門買個東西逛個商場很方便，離海邊十幾分鍾吧，現在正好人少，服務整體來説很不錯，入住的時候前台還介紹了一下當地的美食和旅遊線路，一樓有個水世界和泳池，不想出門的人小孩大人都有地方玩，這點很好，房間衞生打掃的也挺乾淨的，窗外就可以看到大海，早餐種類也挺多，口味也還可以，整體感覺很好。"

"I stayed at this hotel for my birthday weekend and from check-in to the end of my stay, everything was amazing. The 270-degree room was exactly what I wanted and more. The view was superb and honestly unforgettable. The birthday touches really made me feel special. I received a cake, fresh fruits, a lion mascot and even the bed sheets were decorated with a “Happy Birthday” message. This is easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in China. Breakfast was excellent with a good mix of Western options and the staff were friendly, helpful and genuinely courteous throughout my stay. Special thanks to Nora, who checked in to ensure everything was satisfactory and was incredibly helpful from start to finish. This hotel truly delivers luxury and a premium experience. If you’re visiting Qingdao, it’s an excellent choice and I would definitely stay here again."
