Exceeded my expectations! The location is super convenient, close to both business areas and attractions. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bedding was as soft as ever, making it incredibly easy to sleep. The service was thoughtful; I felt warmth and smiles from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was abundant, offering both international cuisine and authentic Indonesian flavors. The pool had an expansive view, perfect for gazing at the city skyline. Suitable for both business and leisure.

Indonesia offers a wide variety of accommodations, and I chose this one because a friend who visited last year raved about it! I saved it as a potential option, and later, when I started looking into volcano tours in Indonesia, I realized I could combine both! So, the 'breakfast date with giraffes' on my bucket list was finally checked off! Quick review: Diverse experiences, excellent breakfast, and simple yet tasteful rooms (not super luxurious). Highly recommended for animal lovers!

They offer free valet parking, as the parking space is limited when it is more crowded. Nice clean room, nice breakfast.

Banyuwangi truly is the ultimate ”sanctuary of stillness,” and ÉL Hotel Banyuwangi provides a beautiful, serene backdrop to experience it. I had a wonderful stay overall, and while there are a few areas where the hotel can step up its game, the foundation is absolutely there for this to become an exceptional property. 🏨 The Hardware & Facilities (Top-Notch!) On the physical side of things, the hotel completely delivers. The rooms are comfortable and well-designed, the gym is well-equipped for a holiday workout, and the swimming pool area is beautiful—perfect for soaking in the quiet energy of the region. 🍳 Food & A Soothing Morning Ritual The culinary experience was a highlight. The food quality was solid, and the local flavors were genuinely delicious. But my absolute favorite part of the morning was the outdoor breakfast area, where they offer fish feeding. Watching the fish move gracefully through the water while enjoying breakfast was incredibly calming and set a beautiful, soothing tone for the day. 🌱 Areas for Growth: Service & Sustainability To truly elevate this hotel to a 5-star luxury standard, there are two areas I’d love to see improve: Eco-Friendly Amenities: In a pristine destination like Banyuwangi, sustainability matters. Currently, the hotel is still using single-use plastic containers for bathroom amenities. Shifting toward refillable dispensers or biodegradable alternatives would align beautifully with the natural essence of the area. Staff Guidance: The young team members have incredible potential and are clearly eager, but they just need a bit more structured guidance and hospitality training. With the right leadership, this passionate young staff could easily turn good service into an exceptional guest experience. 🗺️ The Verdict Overall, I will absolutely come back! The location is a bit out of the way, and access is still limited as it's a new property and hadn't had its grand opening yet when I visited. However, the service was absolutely outstanding; the staff were very open to directly asking guests for feedback and suggestions. There will be more facilities in the future as it's still under development. But the view from the hotel room was stunning, both at night and in the morning. The restaurant's food was delicious too.

This is actually a VERY COOL hotel. As someone who LOVE vintage things, I really appriciate this place. From their historical front building, their vintage styled room, all took me back to the 90s to early 2000. The NOSTALGIA 🥺. When I was little, my grandpa and grandma used to take me travel and stayed at hotels. So hotels like these have a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, it looked like they really cut down the budget. Although they gave a very cheap price for their room (not more than IDR 250K including breakfast), on WEEKENDS?? But the towels were not white anymore and felt thin (not like other hotel towels), the sheets had tough spots, and no shower cap. But I loveddd the lemongrass soap and shampoo, and they were in dispensers so less plastic waste. The breakfast was really sad. It was nice when I stayed here around a couple of years ago. But this time it was worse. Not too many options and looked empty. Really felt like they didn't put much effort. Well, what do you expect for that price? And I understand they might be in a very tight budget. I noticed they added a ”Mini Zoo” signage. A staff warned me that there were not many animals yet. But I decided to go see it. Turned out it was located in the side of the parking road (but outdoor), there were fishes and a big avian animal (like chicken but different, I don't know what it was). And some parakeets in two separate cages, they were all dead 😭😭 I told a staff and they quickly removed the dead birds. Good idea but poor execution. But anyways, location was top. Just a few meters across the street, there was a bus stop and you can hop on the Suroboyo Bus to go anywhere. And the hotel itself was in a main street of a hot destination (Old Town Surabaya), with historical buildings complex, also with the chinatown nearby. I really hope they can survive this economy storm. I really love this hotel 🥺.

I had a very pleasant stay at Golden Tulip Holland Batu. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, and there are plenty of TV channels to choose from. A special mention to Miss Fitri, who helped me with check-in. She was very kind, professional, and welcoming, and made the arrival experience especially smooth. The hotel staff in general are amazing and clearly do a great job. The breakfast also offers a wide variety of options, so there is something for everyone. The spa area is excellent, especially the jacuzzi and sauna — a great place to relax after exploring Batu. A few things could be improved: - On Friday and Saturday evenings, the live music at the lobby restaurant can be quite loud and is clearly audible from the rooms. Thankfully, it usually ends around 10 PM. - There is some kind of background noise in the room 24/7 that I couldn't identify. It sounds somewhat like a distant/remote vacuum cleaner and can be noticeable when the room is otherwise quiet. - The bed blanket could be a little thicker and warmer, especially considering the cooler temperatures at night in Batu. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The excellent staff, good rooms, great spa facilities, and varied breakfast made it a very positive experience. I would definitely consider staying here again.

This is probably the most affordable Shangri-La hotel. Security is very strict—both cars and guests have to go through security checks upon entry. The check-in process at the hotel takes a bit too long, which easily leads to long queues. The room was quite nice, but many of the additional services come with very high fees. The swimming pool is on the ground floor, and wearing a swim trunk isn't strictly required, which is a nice touch. The pool has varying depths; the 2.4-meter section is quite dangerous and not recommended for the unprepared—it's much safer to walk over to the 1.4-meter area to get in.

A really nice hotel, it feels like a more basic version of a Hanting Hotel – comfortable and secure. The surrounding neighborhood is also quite pretty and clean. There's a restaurant on the sixth floor where you can eat or order room service, and there's a 24-hour convenience store downstairs, which is super convenient.

Traveling solo, I arrived at the hotel in Banyuwangi after a bumpy journey from Lovina. The staff's warmth immediately put me at ease. 😘😘 The hotel's environment is also superb, especially by the pool – I just wanted to lie there all day and never leave! 😄😝 I also had the front desk arrange an Ijen Expedition Hiking tour. We had a driver, an English-speaking guide, and a photographer, all of whom were incredibly nice. My guide and photographer, in particular, who hiked with me, didn't just help with photos but also constantly ensured my safety. The cliff going down to see the blue flames is truly dangerous. I'm so grateful to them. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience! 🥰🥰
