"This Hotel is located nearby the city center of Dandong and is a beautiful oasis directly next to the Yalu river. The staff is very attentive always saying hello, providing water, opening doors etc. We really appreciated the kind help of the front desk for some recommendations in the city. The breakfast was also nice and provided a rather extensive buffet with many options. The rooms were as new and had many cool features such as full bathrooms (shower and bathtub) in addition to free coffee and tea. The entire hotel seemed fresh and clean. The doormen were also always smiling and kind making the stay very pleasant, also the front-desk staff did their best to communicate with us which was really appreciated. Overall the stay was absolutely amazing and we would definitely come back."

"Op 14 oktober 2025 verbleef ik specifiek in dit hotel waar ik al heel lang naartoe wilde. Als je hier verblijft, moet je absoluut een kamer met rivierzicht kiezen; zo kun je direct vanuit je kamer genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht op de Yalu River Broken Bridge – dat is de echte waarde van een verblijf hier! Foto acht en negen tonen het uitzicht vanuit de kamer. Het hotel ligt direct tegenover de Yalu River Broken Bridge, een werkelijk unieke locatie. Hoewel de kamerfaciliteiten wat gedateerd zijn, waren ze nog steeds schoon, netjes en licht, en de badkamer had een aparte douche en toilet. Het hotel stelde ook een verrekijker op de kamer beschikbaar zodat gasten het landschap van Noord-Korea aan de overkant van de rivier konden bekijken."

Breakfast is really poor for the price: the fruit juices come from cartons rather than being freshly pressed, the pastries are industrial, and the fried eggs are overcooked. I would recommend avoiding it."

"The newly opened Atour Hotel has a good location, between Zhongshan Square and the Russian-style street. The entire building seems to have been renovated, as there was a strong smell as soon as you entered. All the facilities are complete, and the front desk service is excellent, responding promptly to customer needs. However, the housekeeping staff needs training. I reminded them to clean the room before I left, but when I returned, it was completely untouched; the only thing they changed was emptying the trash can. It was both frustrating and laughable. The room and hallway smelled quite strong, making my eyes and throat hurt. I had to ask for an air purifier from the first day until the second day, and it finally arrived on the afternoon of the second day. If you're traveling with children, you should probably think twice. I would consider going again next time."

"Ok, location is good, because all the luxury brands are directly downstairs, but hey if you're not there to splurge, no point~ because getting to other popular shopping malls or tourist attraction, there's just no advantage. You may think you get VIP or warm greeting service, but honestly... only if you're lucky AND SEEN and if it's like from 12pm to 3pm? Cause i think that's when their staffs are alert. Next on, check-in is normal, nothing special, remember to pay a deposit. Next on, going to your room, someone will help you with your luggage to your room, which is great, because the floor is so carpeted it is hard to drag the luggage if it's really huge and heavy. Next on, the room... I have so much to comment. First of all, furniture looks old. Toilet is great (+1 point) because it is indeed the biggest and most spacious one i have seen. The cleaning folks does a good job cleaning the toilet BUT! i just cannot understand why can't they just change the smelly damped pillows???????? it's already there when we first checked in. It smells horrible, like your teenage cousin's wet sock after soccer practise in a shoe that never dried after washing. Gross! The really funny part is, you would imagined for such a huge room, the TV would be reasonably sized considering the distance from the bed. HAHAHHAHA, it's so small. I finally understand what it means by 'when someone is speechless, they really would laugh'. 人在无语的时候真的会笑. Like, you are a 5 star luxurious hotel but you can't give a bigger TV that has more modern functions???? Am i still living in the 2000s? Ok fine, maybe they have no budgets for upgrade, fine... It's not like we travel halfway across the globe to watch TV in bed. Next, TAKEAWAYS. Like this really made me so angry, they literally take no responsibility in helping you bring up the food. I mean I don't mind going down to take it myself but let me know i have to! They literally left my stuff there 30 mins until i called them. And the ridiculous part was the delivery guy actually took a photo to show me how he had already passed it to a staff and informed them to deliver it up! Next, their restaurant. Paid for a course meal, and instead of the dishes being served up one after another, they served everything up at one go... wow, ok fine no big deal. BUT dessert took 30 mins and not served. Do you know what is a coursed meal? Do you need to retrain your staffs? Do you think we could have finished the dishes so quickly? Aren't we supposed to savour the dishes and take our time because your head chef took time to design the menu and wine pairings? Like your service really defeats all purpose of us opting to have dinner there. So the irony is we were rushed through our food; we literally felt like we had to speed up because what if the dishes went cold. Then they took forever to serve dessert and we already told them we need had a movie coming up and we were running late. BAD SERVICE. Overall, my review for this hotel is that, you're lucky you HAD GOOD REPUTATION & BRANDING in the past, but you are FRAILING. You do not deserve 5 star in almost all areas non-related to location. Yes, you may be considered luxurious because you're at the most prime area of Shenyang but so what? Your service and facilities are at most mid-range 4 star. Even 4 star hotels now have robots that would deliver takeaways and TV bigger than yours, and their pillows are clean, what an absolute joke. OK, maybe let's not get so negative, last redeeming factor: you do have a nice view of the city. For service, you may want to learn from your peers like Sofitel, Atour or Serendipidia.
