Romantic hotels in Hainan, China

Before the trip, I saw quite a few negative reviews about this hotel—complaints about damp, musty rooms, lots of mosquitoes, and cold, slow front desk service. To be honest, I was pretty nervous and was mentally prepared to just make do for one night. But our stay turned out to be a complete reversal, all thanks to the fantastic service from Song Yifan! During check-in, he proactively asked about our preferences. Upon hearing our concerns about humidity and mosquitoes, he immediately arranged a room on a higher floor for us, patiently gave us tips on dehumidifying and airing out the room, and thoroughly introduced the hotel's amenities, breakfast hours, and hot spring opening times. Other staff members also greeted us with warm smiles whenever we ran into them. I'd also like to recommend the hotel's Chinese restaurant—the food overall was great, and the chef at the evening BBQ was especially warm and hospitable, leaving a wonderful impression. In all fairness, the lakeside setting is lovely and relaxing. Both the lake views and the garden hot springs offer a true vacation vibe. While the facilities aren't brand new, they are clean and well-kept. Great service is truly the soul of a resort hotel. This stay far exceeded our expectations, and I'm writing this specifically to give a shout-out to Song Yifan. For anyone who is on the fence: having such reliable staff really makes all the difference in your stay.

This type of resort is not my usual place however I felt, as part of my tour of China, that I needed somewhere to relax for a few days. This resort did not disappoint! Despite initial issues checking in, I was upgraded to the Peacock then driven up and over the hill in a golf buggy. It did surprise me how sprawled out the resort is and it was a good 20 minutes to get there. It’s too far to walk and probably not a good idea in the dark! On arrival, one of the porters helped carry my bags down to the most amazing little villla in the jungle! The room was really just perfect. After being given mosquito spray at reception I realised quite quickly that it was needed! Th balcony was lively to just sit out and chill looking at the amazing view As a vegetarian I do find it hard to eat in China and the language barrier was difficult however I went to the restaurant and was helped to order by the manager. The chef sent me a fruit plate - i think partly because he was worried about me eating enough! Breakfast was really lovely! Despite it being a resort, there was very little human noise and it was nice to sit in the balcony listening to the noise of nature. The WeChat messenger was great to communicate and the staff were really helpful when I had a severe reaction to mosquito bites. You do need to call for a buggy any time you want to move around the resort however they are very quick to arrive. The resort itself was amazing to explore. If you have any mobility issues, it may be an issue because my villa was quite far down a lot of steps. If I return to Hainan Island in future, I would love to stay here again - such a special location

🌴 Brought my family to Sanya, Hainan for a vacation and stayed in a suite at the Yalong Bay Xinguang Pullman Resort (or Yalong Bay Welcome Hotel) for 4 days and 3 nights. The experience far exceeded our expectations! ⛱️ Attentive service. Everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping staff was warm and thoughtful. All our requests were remembered, giving us a wonderful sense of being truly well-cared for. 💐 Beautiful scenery. Looking out from the balcony, you get a view of the island-style swimming pool surrounded by lush, blooming flowers. 🥳 Spacious and comfortable suite. As a family of three, having two bedrooms gave us plenty of space to relax and feel at home. 🏖️ Convenient location. The Yalong Bay public beach, night market, and shopping center are just across the street, yet it remains very quiet at night. All in all, great service, gorgeous views—choosing this place for a family getaway is a safe bet!

This stay with my child exceeded my expectations. Ella's service was incredibly warm and friendly, and we were so lucky to get a room upgrade, which was a wonderful surprise! The hotel offers a fantastic array of children's activities, with bubble parties and craft sessions scheduled non-stop, keeping my child entertained and happy all day long. The restaurant has a wide selection of dishes, and the breakfast was fresh, abundant, and delicious. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall service was thoughtful and attentive, allowing parents to relax while their kids play. It's truly perfect for a family vacation. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Sanya. I wholeheartedly recommend it to families with children.

Good day everyone. The Crowne Plaza hotel stands out for its elegance and distinctive style. It's worth noting that cleanliness and service are at a high level. The cuisine is Chinese. It's worth noting the service during visits to the restaurant — everything is cleaned up promptly; dishes are cleared, so to speak, by hand without carts, which ensures comfort for hotel guests. The grounds are excellent. The location — the exit to the sea is across the road and depends on the weather; the sea can have a different character. For swimming in the sea, it's better to walk about 100 meters to the left from the swimming area — at that spot there's a pleasant entry into the sea with no underwater rocks. Overall, this hotel can be recommended for a vacation. Have a pleasant holiday, everyone.

My InterContinental Resort stay was fantastic this time. First, a big thanks to our butler, Bonnie Tan, for upgrading us to a Deluxe Seaview room. We could see the ocean and the sunrise, although it was a pity that heavy rain the first two days made the nearshore waters murky. As of now, after two days, the yellowish area has reduced by about a third; I estimate it will take a week to fully clear up. Yesterday, the sunrise was partly obscured by clouds, but it was still beautiful. The room layout was excellent, very spacious with a wide open plan. The bathroom had two sinks and a vanity, and the shower faced the sea, perfect for watching the sunrise in the morning. The bathtub was on the balcony; if I had stayed another day, I definitely would have enjoyed it. The Tianfu Chinese restaurant was delicious. They had a great value couple's set menu. The Crispy Pork Sandwich was perfect for those with a taste from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. The grouper felt like it weighed a pound, and the chicken fat rice was so good I posted about it on both Dianping and Xiaohongshu. Other à la carte dishes were a bit pricey, probably 300-400 RMB per person. The tennis court was affordable at 180 RMB an hour, including rackets. They were all Wilson rackets; I couldn't identify the model but definitely not the Clash series. There were two with thin grips and two with thicker ones. Like the court itself, they were quite old. The pink thin-grip one I used felt like the strings were a bit loose, not as tight as the blue thin-grip one. The staff also set up a table and chairs, providing towels and water, which was a nice touch. The hotel lobby had a very high ceiling, grand decor, and an expansive space that was truly refreshing, much better than the feeling I got at the Yalong Bay Marriott. All the staff were friendly and greeted guests, and service was very responsive, including the front desk, lobby, Tianfu Bay restaurant, family pool, tennis court, and even the maintenance staff on the beach 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I stayed for one night in a Deluxe Garden View Twin Room at the Yalong Bay Mangrove Tree Resort Sanya. The room was spacious and clean, with lush green garden views outside the window. Stepping out onto the balcony, you are greeted by vast tropical foliage, making the scenery exceptionally relaxing and pleasant. Our butler, Coral, provided incredibly thoughtful service. She proactively added me on WeChat before check-in to ask about our preferences, and upon learning we were celebrating an anniversary, she secretly arranged a honeymoon setup for us. Walking in and seeing the petal and towel art on the bed was a lovely surprise. Whenever we needed anything during our stay, her replies were super fast—whether asking for a phone charger or directions, she responded almost instantly, and her response time was simply top-notch. She also sent a welcome fruit platter, and everything was very fresh. Strolling around the hotel grounds is very cozy, the pool and beach are both close by, and walking at dusk to watch the sunset is breathtaking. Overall, the attention to detail in the service was spot on, and Coral's dedication left a deep impression.

This time we traveled with three generations of the family. After comparing several bays in Sanya, we finally chose to stay at the Cubic Resort Hotel in Sanya Bay. • Unbeatable location: Situated right on Sanya Bay Road, just a crosswalk away from the coconut dream corridor and the beach. It's effortless for both the elderly and kids to get to the seaside. • Great family-friendly facilities: Indoor and outdoor children's playgrounds, a shallow kids' pool, swings, and complimentary beach digging tools available for borrow. My grandson could play there the whole day. • Senior-friendly: A quiet environment where you can hear birds chirping in the green belts in the morning; close to the airport with convenient taxi services. Visiting surrounding attractions is also very convenient—West Island, Tianya Town, Nanshan Buddhism Cultural Zone, Daxiao Dongtian, and Tianya Haijiao are all about a 30-minute drive away. Amenities: A bit dated, but fortunately clean. Cleanliness: The hotel is very clean, and the bathroom has no unpleasant odors. Environment: Well worth the price. Service: The hotel staff are all very enthusiastic, responsive to every question, and thoughtfully provided a small gift.

This was the last hotel of our trip, and we stayed at the InterContinental Hainan Clearwater Bay Resort (Yanlord Crown Plaza), which is said to be the absolute ceiling for traveling with toddlers ⭐️ Although we only stayed for one night due to a tight schedule, missed many activities, and didn't get to fully explore the place with our baby, the actual stay and on-site experience were phenomenal~ Even better than our previous hotel~ First of all, the staff proactively greeted us and helped with the luggage 🧳 Of course, almost every hotel does that, but then a lovely staff member came over to put a flower garland on us. It was full of ceremony and made us feel like we were on a vacation abroad—such a familiar and delightful vibe, and our baby loved it~ Then we headed to the front desk for check-in, where a dedicated butler is assigned right away. We were super lucky to be assigned an amazingly wonderful butler—Polly. She proactively helped us upgrade our room type, thoughtfully explained all the precautions and hotel activities, and let us know we could reach out to her via WeChat anytime for any questions~ The baby even got a special, very cute custom card~ Next was checking into the room. The room is huge! The upgraded Executive Full Ocean View room has an incredible view—a 180-degree ocean vista, which is very nice 👍 The room was also clean and tidy with no musty smell~ The basic minibar and welcome fruits were provided, and they even offered Bvlgari toiletries~ We were truly satisfied with the room, especially compared to the older hotel we stayed at previously (though older hotels have their own kind of convenience, of course)~ Bed rails were installed in the room upon request, and since the baby's birthday is in a few days, we left a note when booking and received a complimentary birthday setup 🎉 As for the cake, it might have been cutting it close, but my gorgeous butler Polly still managed to request one for us, and it was delivered that very night. It tasted great too, and the baby loved it 💕 Next, let's talk about the hotel's recreational facilities. There is a Qilin Wonderland, but it's more suitable for older kids; our little one is too young, so the soft play area was a better fit~ The baby had a blast, and also thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon bubble party. There is a heated rooftop infinity pool; apart from the wind being a bit strong, everything else was great, and the baby played there for a long time. We didn't go into the public pool downstairs, so I won't comment on that. It's a short and very convenient walk from the rooms to the beach, but the sand at Haitang Bay is coarse—not as ideal for sandcastle building as Yalong Bay. The waves were just as strong as when we visited before, and the beach doesn't provide lounge chairs. In short, if you want a great sand-playing and beach-lounging experience 🏖️, Yalong Bay is a better choice~ The hotel's breakfast was pretty decent too, and the noodle soup was delicious. The dinner BBQ buffet was genuinely good, and all the mixed cocktails were tasty~ To sum up, our experience at Yanlord was fantastic. We will definitely bring our baby back next time for a more in-depth stay. My beautiful butler Polly was super amazing and extremely responsive—two thumbs up 👍

We had a truly wonderful stay! The hotel is very easy to locate, directly accessible by taxi from a short distance away, and surrounded by great dining options. Dadonghai is packed with eateries and a lively night market. The receptionist was exceptionally warm and welcoming, thoughtfully offering us complimentary bottled water. The room was spotlessly clean, and the mattress offered just the right balance of support and softness, ensuring a sound and peaceful sleep through the night with great soundproofing—we weren't disturbed at all. Overall, it offers fantastic value for money and is perfect for both family trips and getaways with friends. Ordering food delivery is very convenient, as items are brought up by delivery robots. The hotel also features clean amenities including a laundry room, gym, and swimming pool. The fish spa was super relaxing for the feet! There is a complimentary shuttle service to the Dadonghai beach, taking just a few minutes to get there, which is extremely convenient. The hotel also serves a dinner buffet; if you don't feel like ordering delivery, you can dine right at the hotel—it's delicious, reasonably priced, and offers great value. Highly recommended to everyone!
