Mountain view-hotels in Leshan

the stay was so so good! firstly, before our arrival date, the hotel contacted us on both trip.com & wechat, so our transport to the hotel from emeishan station was smooth. check-in was fuss free as well, and the front office lady xiaoshi was kind, warm, and gave us tips for our trip up emei. we could borrow the hanfu and took pictures in the yard and around the hotel. the facilities were clean, nice, and overall really cosy. breakfast was really good too. and if you prefer to go up the mountain earlier, the hotel will also prepare some light takeaways for you, and thats super thoughtful i’ve read reviews that the location was not as good as those around baoguo; but since we were travelling as a family, this place was peaceful, slightly quieter and very near huangwan visitor centre! To me this was equally as good as hotels that are around baoguo. the trip up emei mountain was quick and fuss free as well, since I got the tickets and boarded the bus from huangwan (about a 5-7 mins walk away from the hotel) which is not much different from baoguo. will definitely stay here again if im visiting this area :))

We initially chose Pure Cloud Hotel for its proximity to Wuxiangang Bus Station and its recent opening. The drive up the narrow mountain road, full of sharp turns, was a bit unsettling for our city Didi driver, so we were secretly relieved (as was our driver) when we finally arrived. At first glance, the hotel seemed quite simple, and I wasn’t entirely sure I had made the right choice. However, any lingering doubts were quickly washed away by the warm welcome from Derek, the hotel manager, and the staff. When we got to our room, it was pure joy! The minimalist design is visually soothing, and the balcony with its expansive mountain views made us feel like just hanging around and doing nothing was more than enough. If you're the kind of traveler who feels guilty about not doing anything, rest assured that the hotel is in a beautiful section of the mountain. There's a lovely old temple and a sacred spring pond nearby—Zhongfeng Temple and Shenshui Pavilion, I believe. You’ll also enjoy the energy of hikers rushing up and down the mountain. There are enough people to make it lively but not overwhelmingly crowded like Leidongping or Jinding, where the crowds can be exhausting. A special mention goes to Derek, who exceeded all our expectations. His kindness and professionalism reminded me of the kind of service you expect from a six-star hotel, where every need is anticipated. Derek went above and beyond, making our journey to Golden Summit and onward to Leshan much smoother and more enjoyable. Since we speak minimal Chinese, he kindly helped us communicate with the next hotel, explaining how to get there. He even offered us a free ride to the bus station when we struggled to find a Didi in the area. Derek also helped arrange our transfer to Leshan. We were incredibly impressed and grateful for his assistance. If I had to suggest one area for improvement, I’d say the dinner options could use some enhancement to match the overall excellence of the stay. A small tip: If your goal is to catch the sunrise and sunset at Golden Summit, you'll need to stay at one of the mountaintop hotels near Jinding. Logistically, getting to these hotels involves taking a bus from Baoguosi or Wuxiangang Station to Leidongping, then a cable car to the upper platform, followed by a roughly one-hour hike with steep steps to Jinding. It's manageable with a backpack, but not ideal with large luggage. That’s why we chose Pure Cloud Hotel for its close proximity to Wuxiangang Bus Station, leaving our luggage there and heading up the mountain with just our backpacks.

Tijdens mijn vakantie wilde ik een rustige plek vinden om te ontspannen en tot rust te komen, dus koos ik specifiek voor een hotel in deze prijsklasse, in de hoop op een hogere kwaliteit. Na de boeking stuitte ik echter op twee onprettige punten: 1. Voor twee personen waren twee ontbijten inbegrepen, maar slechts één diner. Omdat ik in vergelijkbare hotels heb verbleven waar twee maaltijden per nacht werden aangeboden, leek dit vreemd. Mijn online navraag leverde geen duidelijke uitleg op en ik hoorde pas bij aankomst dat het diner een gratis maaltijd van gelijke waarde was. Ik raad het hotel aan dit te verduidelijken om misverstanden te voorkomen. 2. De kamer was op het eerste gezicht licht en ruim, en de eenvoudige inrichting was rustgevend. Ik vond echter een onbekend voorwerp op de toiletrol, wat onacceptabel is voor een hotel in deze prijsklasse. Ik moet het personeel echter wel complimenteren voor hun constant enthousiaste houding. Ze reageerden snel toen we het probleem met het kamerarrangement aankaartten en vervingen het toiletpapier direct. Ik hoop dat hun servicekwaliteit in de toekomst overeenkomt met hun houding.

Onverwacht perfect. De eigenaar van de B&B moet een kunstenaar zijn die verstand heeft van esthetiek. De B&B ligt halverwege de berg Emei. U moet vanaf de voet van de berg met de auto naar de B&B. Deze B&B ligt op een geweldige locatie, omringd door bergen. U kunt direct voor de deur een sightseeingbus naar de Golden Summit nemen. Faciliteiten: De badkamers zijn allemaal van het merk Kohler en de toiletartikelen zijn van Guanxia, ​​met een zeer elegante geur. We hebben dus twee keer gegeten bij de B&B en alle gerechten smaakten erg goed. Speciaal geschikt voor uw mond. Het is geschikt voor zowel de zuiderlingen als de noorderlingen. De chef-kok is absoluut professioneel. Het ontbijt is klein maar uitstekend, met allerlei kleine noedels en wontons die bijzonder lekker zijn. De volgende keer dat je naar Mount Emei komt, verblijf ik in onze B&B.

Service: First of all, we arrived at Emeishan Station at 9 a.m. and had booked the pick-up service in advance. The hotel butler came to pick us up in a business vehicle. Although the hotel is just a few minutes’ drive away, this thoughtful service greatly enhanced the overall experience. Le Méridien Emeishan is positioned as a resort hotel with over 300 rooms. Since we arrived quite early, we initially thought we’d have to wait until the afternoon to check in. However, the hotel had available rooms and kindly allowed us to check in right away. The butler even gave us two cups of coffee and drove us around in a sightseeing cart to show us different room types. Although we had only booked a standard room, they upgraded us to a lake-view room with beautiful scenery. We really appreciate the hotel’s excellent service! Additionally, the butler gave us 10 bottles of water upon check-in, which was more than enough—no need to call for more during our stay. Facilities: The hotel grounds are quite large, and the buildings are low-rise. Guests staying in Building 2 may need to walk about six to seven minutes to their rooms. The hotel offers a lobby bar, reading lounge, gym, hot spring pool, swimming pool, and kids’ play area. The facilities are generally comprehensive, though the entertainment options may feel a bit limited for a resort hotel. The children’s play area includes simple slides, swings, and a small ball pit—fairly modest in scale. Location: About 2 km from Baoguo Temple and close to the shuttle bus station for Emei Mountain. Very convenient. Breakfast: Abundant and delicious, with the option to dine outdoors in a beautiful setting. Environment: The hotel is located next to Exiu Lake, surrounded by a scenic park with views of the Golden Summit (Jinding). The environment inside the hotel is also pleasant—perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Overall: The highlight of this hotel is its outstanding service, which is undoubtedly the most important aspect for a resort. It would be even better if the facilities were more varied.

Xiao Zhou and his colleagues provided us with exceptional service during our one-night stay at the hotel! They were very nice and friendly, attentive to our needs and requests, and chatted with us in an open and welcoming manner whenever we inquired about aspects of the local environment, Mt Emei, etc. We had dinner at the hotel during our stay and ordered the chef's recommendations. The food was AMAZING and so fresh. The fish and chicken dishes that we had came from live fish and chicken that they reared within the hotel compound. If they were a local restaurant back in my country, I would frequent them without a doubt, and would love to bring my friends to try their cuisine. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, Xiao Zhou even brought us to take a look at the hotel's chicken coop and fish pond. When we had to leave for our hike to Mt Emei's summit, Xiao Zhou and his colleague kindly drove us to the nearest bus station so that it would be easier for us to access Mt Emei's public transportation, a gesture which we appreciated a lot! All in all, their attentiveness to us, good manners, and warm and friendly dispositions all contributed to a memorable stay. Of course, the rooms themselves were spotless and comfortable. Would love to come back here in the future!!

Exceptional Stay with Unmatched Hospitality We had an absolutely incredible stay at this hotel and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the professional and welcoming staff, setting the tone for a perfect visit. Due to some logistics, the hotel generously offered us a free room upgrade. The room itself was exceptionally good—spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean. The entire property is stunning, featuring beautiful ancient Chinese architecture that provides a charming, rustic feel while still offering all the comforts you could need. The service was a highlight of our trip. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, especially the delicious noodles which were a perfect start to our day. To top off the amazing service, the hotel arranged for someone to see us back to the Emeishan railway station and even kindly paid for our fare. This level of care and generosity is rare to find. We will definitely be coming back for another visit and highly recommend this gem to anyone traveling to the area!

This is not a 4 or 5 start resort. It’s a 5 star room down the river. The restaurant was closed when we were there, so called gym does not exist at all, swimming pool is small like a pond and the bigger one is for kids. There is no garden or anything that covers the road and the bridge you can hear easily while staying down the swimming pool. The big bonus is the bathroom- big and modern exactly like on the picture and the spring water hot tub that works well and can create a great time during the night as you can hear the river. Light system is amazing. You can find any light that you need to set up a mood. People are very nice and friendly. The front desk does not have ‘ business card’ and location of the hotel was written down on a paper. Really little things that shows this place has a potential but not in the current set up. You can’t lock the room door when you are not inside- only the garden gate. Who would design such a thing? I know it’s a safe destination but still. There is no safe either. People create this place special but it does not meet a high standard resort score.

Mijn hiking trip naar Emeishan was fantastisch maar ik zou dit hotel niet aanraden. In het begin was de communicatie met het hotelpersoneel moeizaam maar via een app en mijn beperkt Chinees lukte het om elkaar te begrijpen. Dus helemaal OK. Als je geen Chinees kan, zou ik absoluut dit hotel niet nemen. Kamer was wat gedateerd voor een 5 sterren hotel en ik had een kamer geboekt met uitzicht op de bergen maar kreeg uitzicht op gebouwen (geen berg te zien). Op zich ook niet erg gezien ik de hele dag naar de top van Emeishan ging hiken. Maar het ontbijt en service daar was verschrikkelijk en geen 5 sterren hotel waardig. Het personeel was heel onvriendelijk en deden geen enkele poging om mij te begrijpen en wilden enkel praten in (heel snel) Chinees. Het ontbijt was zogenaamd Westers/Chinees maar het westerse gedeelte was frieten en/of hashbrown(?). Niemand boven de 12 jaar wordt gelukkig van frieten bij het ontbijt. Ook was al veel eten weg en (bijna) niets werd aangevuld. Nochtans was het ontbijt zogezegd nog 1,5 uur open. Teleurstellend. Gelukkig wel een fantastische dag naar Emeishan gehad!
