Mixed feeling about this … it’s a walk from the jr station in the center of the red light district, cheap accommodation, no big deal … but first room the WiFi signal was bad, staff was helpful and changed to another room, again later on the WiFi was not useable, surely the manager knows about it , was planning to stay extra nights but was not possible, next morning manager rely the apologies and room fee was refunded
Nice Japanese breakfast. Strategic location to get around Gokayama and Shirakawa. In front of the hotel is the biggest Gassho style house in Japan that has a long history of being owned by samurais and where the emporia family had visited many times and is considered a cultural heritage of Japan.. I would go back to this hotel because of its location.
Nice room, local style.
I enjoyed their breakfast which started serving from 6am, fit for me as I finished it and left the hotel before 7am.
Good arrangement.
Nice place with free parking. Very nice and helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast are nice with full of Japanese culture. Very comfortable hot spring.
Honestly, it’s a bit old but they keep it very clean and nice. Really happy to be here.

GGuest UserThe service is very good, the proprietress is Taiwanese, helping us a lot, but the room facilities are old, the room is dark, the public bath is small, and it is better to soak in your own room.
UUMAPORNI had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly attentive and kind throughout my visit. The overall atmosphere gave off a wonderfully authentic Japanese vibe, which made the experience even more special. One of the highlights was the delicious traditional Japanese breakfast — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. What impressed me most was how the hotel made me feel so comfortable and welcome, almost like I was staying at a relative’s home in Japan. It’s a place I would wholeheartedly recommend, and I would love to return again in the future.
TthewandercuratorHad a friendly welcome in this good value ryokan guesthouse, which seemed more peaceful compared to the large hotel catering to big tours opposite. Was given a spacious private tatami room with a hot water kettle, retro TV and a private wash sink. Ample female/male shared toilets per level and a public bath for showers at the lower floor. Half board meals are taken in the dining room which had a beautiful view of Toyama city and the bay - I felt lucky to witness a beautiful sunset at dinner time. Dinner was pretty good but the breakfast set was a little underwhelming in terms of choice. They could cater to my seafood-only dietary requirements but needed reminders at breakfast the next morning. Every night if the skies are clear enough, the owner/staff arrange a nice stargazing activity and you can try snow shoe-hiking for free in the day. (The snow still hasn't melted off the boardwalks in the Midagahara alpine marshlands in end-May.) The alpine bus conveniently drops off right outside the ryokan on both directions but does not stop to pick up passengers ad-hoc. For pick ups, you will need to book a departure time with the hotel staff during check-in.
OO.K. MACMuch better than I imagined! The place was so clean, convenient, and the owner was incredibly friendly.
A few insects were present, but nothing out of the ordinary—it was totally acceptable.
The food was amazing. Although it mostly consisted of wild ingredients like river fish and unusual vegetables, I enjoyed every dish! Especially the grilled fish cooked over the irori—exactly what I had dreamed of experiencing!
The bathroom was lovely too. I didn’t expect to relax in a hot tub, but I did! After a long day of hiking, soaking in the bath at the minshuku Goyomon was the perfect way to unwind.
The village was so quiet that I felt safe strolling around alone at night.
Cherry blossoms were in full bloom, even though patches of snow still remained on the ground—it was such a magical contrast.
I didn’t expect they would accept credit cards—but they did! It made everything even more convenient.
I truly wish I could stay there again with my family!
Oh, and I met a French family who recommended a beautiful Gassho-style house to visit the next day. Since there were only two rooms available, we had the chance to get to know the other guests as well.
GGuest UserA magical traditional Japanese inn. You have to wear slippers when entering the inn. The elderly are very enthusiastic and the whole village is very welcoming. I haven't experienced that kind of simplicity for a long time. There are singing and dancing performances, very delicious Sichuan fish, and a call to eat breakfast early. It feels like home.
KkhomsanvipAccommodation in Reengrom area. Unique, good for men Women may not like it because they feel unsafe. A moderately far from convenience stores But on the way to watch The rabbit ear suit looks good.

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were super friendly! I accidentally booked a smoking room, but they kindly helped me switch to a non-smoking one. They offer free ramen in the evenings, and there's complimentary whiskey, red wine, and ice cream in the lobby – I couldn't resist having ice cream twice, haha. The location is really convenient; Toyama isn't very big, so you can easily walk to a few famous attractions. If you're visiting Toyama Castle, definitely pop over to the city hall's observation deck for a panoramic view of Toyama, the distant snow-capped mountains are absolutely stunning.
