"This place was so cute and excellent. Staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate easily enough. Room was Japanese Ryokan style. Tatami mats, low table. It had everything needed, shower and toilet in the room too. There is also an onsen that you can reserve for your private use. I asked for a time later at night and they still had one spot available. If you can't get a time then it is ”public use” after 22:00, which seems to mean that you might need to share if others want to join. Location was very good, right in the middle of the historic part of town and a short walk (＜5 min) to Nara park to see the deer. Hotel was very nice and clean. I was here in late December and the air conditioning heater in the room was very good too."

Het is nog steeds een beetje eng om alleen te zijn. Er was niemand toen ik uitcheckte. Na een tijdje wachten, liet ik mijn kamerkaart achter bij de receptie en vertrok. De ene deur is de accommodatieruimte en de andere is de wasruimte. Voor de accommodatieruimte moet u een wachtwoord invoeren, maar de wasruimte en de accommodatieruimte zijn met elkaar verbonden. U kunt de wasruimte ongedwongen betreden. Ik ben zo bang😨I bleef daar een nacht en rende weg. De prijs is goedkoop, maar er is geen zekerheid."

"Read this review carefully because it provides a very specific insight. Good things first. Very clean and amazing planning of the place. I loved the garden. Also, nice to have a well water spot with coffee and tea. You can leave your luggage at the counter and go walking till checking-in. I got 110 small dorm. Bedding was great. Each bed had a rest area for work. Bad things. I was given bed #1, which is near the door. At around 6AM two tenants from upstairs started going in and out non-stop. Hence, I had 0 sleep after 6 AM. Check-out is at 10:00, meaning I lost at least 2-3 hours of sleep. The door is very loud and the wall shook next to my bed. I don’t even mention that sound was also loud upstairs. The owners could oil the door parts and, for example, plan upstairs area better to reduce the noise. So, if you plan to come late and have good sleep this place and its dormitories is unlikely for you."

They became our translators and guided us the way to go about the area especially with the public transport and Mt Shigi. Check in details were not provided via booking on trip.com but thankfully could easily contact the owner via WhatsApp. Overall still a great experience."

It’s an old hotel. The only bonus I felt was being able to enjoy a private bath session with onsen water.The morning shift customer service was nice. You need to be extra careful with the washing machines. I accidentally inserted coins twice at the same time, but the machine only counted it as one wash. I asked the evening staff for help with a refund because I pressed the refund button, but the coins didn’t come out. Unfortunately, they couldn’t refund it, and I felt a bit sad… 😒 As a solo traveler, this hotel is a good choice if you’re on a budget and enjoy the old-style Japanese ryokan atmosphere.

I stayed here for 3 days,it would have been a very nice room to stay in if it wasn't summer and the temperature outside in the mid to high 30s C The room was too hot to sleep until about 1am in the morning, has it had no AC,the bed was comfortable and the view was great but it was way too hot with just the fan It would be a great place to stay in winter,spring or autumn but not summer

The location is great. You can walk uphill to Mt. Wakakusa. It’s beautiful to feed the deer and watch the sunset. It’s very close to Todaiji Kasuga Taisha Shrine. The small suite with bunk beds for three people and a kitchen is so beautiful. You can make dinner and breakfast early in the morning. The deer is in front of the window, it feels like a vacation

Check-in after 15:00. The staff are very friendly, including those who speak English at a sufficient level so that you can understand each other without a translator. The room is spacious, heated/cooled by air conditioning. There is also a kotatsu, under which it is very comfortable to sit, a tea set, including a kettle. Yukata and khvori are very beautiful and comfortable. In the room there is also a memo for foreigners on the correct visit to the onsen (be sure to read it, this is important). There are only two onsen - one large with a view of the river (there are curtains) and one smaller without windows. The water is moderately hot, not scalding. As a dinner, kaiseki was provided with a change of dishes - it was very tasty and VERY much (honestly, we could not eat everything, since we usually eat much less, for which we apologize to the staff)

Overall, I was quite satisfied, meeting my expectations. The price was relatively reasonable, and the value for money was good. The facilities were complete, with a bathroom and shared washing machine within the B&B. Although there was only one bathroom, I didn't have to worry about long waits. There was also a kitchen available, and the overall cleanliness was excellent. The nearest bus stop is 300 meters away, so transportation and the surrounding area are acceptable. The owner is Chinese and speaks Mandarin without any issues. Room 201 was quite small, practically covered entirely with mattresses, and only accommodated a 28-inch suitcase, though the owner had explained in advance. Note that there are few people nearby, and most of them are elderly, so please keep your voice down both on the way and in the room.
