"Read this review carefully because it provides a very specific insight. Good things first. Very clean and amazing planning of the place. I loved the garden. Also, nice to have a well water spot with coffee and tea. You can leave your luggage at the counter and go walking till checking-in. I got 110 small dorm. Bedding was great. Each bed had a rest area for work. Bad things. I was given bed #1, which is near the door. At around 6AM two tenants from upstairs started going in and out non-stop. Hence, I had 0 sleep after 6 AM. Check-out is at 10:00, meaning I lost at least 2-3 hours of sleep. The door is very loud and the wall shook next to my bed. I don’t even mention that sound was also loud upstairs. The owners could oil the door parts and, for example, plan upstairs area better to reduce the noise. So, if you plan to come late and have good sleep this place and its dormitories is unlikely for you."

"Our challenge was with the language .. fortunately the hotel has staffs that speaks English and/or Mandarin. They became our translators and guided us the way to go about the area especially with the public transport and Mt Shigi. De ene deur is de accommodatieruimte en de andere is de wasruimte. Voor de accommodatieruimte moet u een wachtwoord invoeren, maar de wasruimte en de accommodatieruimte zijn met elkaar verbonden. U kunt de wasruimte ongedwongen betreden. Ik ben zo bang😨I bleef daar een nacht en rende weg. De prijs is goedkoop, maar er is geen zekerheid."

В номере есть также памятка для иностранцев о правильном посещении онсена (обязательно прочитайте, это важно). Всего два онсена - один большой с видом на реку (есть занавески) и один поменьше без окон. Вода умеренно горячая, не обжигающая. В качестве ужина был предоставлен кайсеки с переменой блюд - было очень вкусно и ОЧЕНЬ много (честно, мы не смогли всё съесть, так как обычно едим сильно меньше, за что приносим извинения сотрудникам)"

"Lovely Japanese style in with a great location near Nara park. Owner spoke good English and was very kind and helpful. Room was clean and stuff like towels and a toothbrush were provided. The Onsen is open from 17:00 to 23:00 and was a great experience. Can’t recommend this place enough."

Эх.. Постельное белье не предусмотрено, спать нужно на покрывалах, матрасе, к этому нужно быть готовым!! Это лично моё мнение, моё ощущение! Мужу понравилось, мне нет, были 2 ночи и я эти ночи просто не спала. Хозяева милые люди, добрые, улыбчивые"

This place had a great location to some of the sites to visit and also offered parking for a very reasonable fee to qhich I needed due to me renting a car. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms are basic but very functional and clean and this place had a laundry facility which proved very useful. I would highly recommend this place

It’s an old hotel. The only bonus I felt was being able to enjoy a private bath session with onsen water.The morning shift customer service was nice. You need to be extra careful with the washing machines. I accidentally inserted coins twice at the same time, but the machine only counted it as one wash. I asked the evening staff for help with a refund because I pressed the refund button, but the coins didn’t come out. Unfortunately, they couldn’t refund it, and I felt a bit sad… 😒 As a solo traveler, this hotel is a good choice if you’re on a budget and enjoy the old-style Japanese ryokan atmosphere.

This is an old ryokan with a history. Everything was smooth and beautiful, though we did not speak Japanese, nor the personnel speak our language, we were able to communicate and enjoy open air bath, traditional dinner and breakfast. The stuff is professional, warm and friendly. The area itself is famous for pilgrimage and views. Apart from soaking in a bath, one can walk around the village and visit numerous shrines and one magnificent huge temple, which is absolute must-see. Another delight is the beautiful view from the ryokan window. The same breathtaking feeling may have at the dining hall watching remote hills and the valley down the hill. Very authentic experience of traditional Japanese relax holiday. highly recommended!

Located in a quiet quaint neighborhood. It was storming so I didn't get an opponent to enjoy the river and it's surrounding which the accommodation was just next to. But the spacious room came as a joy but unfortunately the beddings were not comfortable. Could feel the bed springs and the pillow overly soft. Wished that they provided tatami beddings instead. Check in details were not provided via booking on trip.com but thankfully could easily contact the owner via WhatsApp. Overall still a great experience.

I stayed here for 3 days,it would have been a very nice room to stay in if it wasn't summer and the temperature outside in the mid to high 30s C The room was too hot to sleep until about 1am in the morning, has it had no AC,the bed was comfortable and the view was great but it was way too hot with just the fan It would be a great place to stay in winter,spring or autumn but not summer

The location is great. You can walk uphill to Mt. Wakakusa. It’s beautiful to feed the deer and watch the sunset. It’s very close to Todaiji Kasuga Taisha Shrine. The small suite with bunk beds for three people and a kitchen is so beautiful. You can make dinner and breakfast early in the morning. The deer is in front of the window, it feels like a vacation

Check-in after 15:00. The staff are very friendly, including those who speak English at a sufficient level so that you can understand each other without a translator. The room is spacious, heated/cooled by air conditioning. There is also a kotatsu, under which it is very comfortable to sit, a tea set, including a kettle. Yukata and khvori are very beautiful and comfortable. In the room there is also a memo for foreigners on the correct visit to the onsen (be sure to read it, this is important). There are only two onsen - one large with a view of the river (there are curtains) and one smaller without windows. The water is moderately hot, not scalding. As a dinner, kaiseki was provided with a change of dishes - it was very tasty and VERY much (honestly, we could not eat everything, since we usually eat much less, for which we apologize to the staff)

I stayed here on a solo trip. As other people have said in their reviews, the staff were really polite and welcoming. I was very grateful. The private room was spacious enough just to sleep. The bedding was clean. However, since it's all made of wood, it may be best not to place delicate items directly on it. The washroom and shower room were very clean and easy to use. I would like to stay here again when I visit Tenri (or Nara). Thank you.
