It was definitely an enjoyable and worthy experience of traditional ryokan with tatami and futon with the best view of Mt. Fuji from the room window! The hotel itself overlooks parts of Mt. Fuji with Lake Kawaguchiko, and we even added on dinner and breakfast during the stay! They are simply one of the best meals during the trips in Tokyo! The onsen is another bonus to enjoy while seeing the view of Mt Fuji, even though it is public hot spring which might be a culture shock. Definitely worth to try it out again to enjoy the traditional Japan vibes around Lake Kawaguchiko.

We spent our anniversary with my girlfriend in Kaneyamaen, and our experience was above and beyond. Starting with the shuttle option provided by the hotel from Mishima station, which also took us to Oshino hakkai, what a gorgeous place, before ending up at the hotel. We were really satisfied of our driver who shared facts about Yamanashi prefecture and Fuji. Our check-in process was also a really nice experience. From the moment we arrived we felt the hospitality of the hotel service crew. They escorted us to our room and helped with our luggage. Staying at a Sanri-Comfort Western Room, we had access to 2 lounges, where in one of them we had access to many kind of amazing wine from Yamanashi, among other tasty snacks. We choose our yukata and headed for matcha tasting. This is located in another part of the building which also gives us a peak at the wonderful garden. The matcha and snack we received helped us settle in with the calm garden view. Then came dinner. My god, the dinner was above and beyond. Neither of us had an 8 course dinner before with such a perfect service and absolutely amazing food. Hats of to the restaurant and service crew. Truly impressed. We decided to walk of the calories in the hotels beautiful garden at night. The illumination creates a really romantic experience. After this, we attended the Taiko drum show, which is organized by the hotel crew. First time for me and I can say it definitely made our experience even more special. Fantastic work. Then the star of the show. The open-air bath on the balcony. The sight of Mt. Fuji early morning from the bath, was a magical experience which we'll never forget. The buffet breakfast provides a great selection of food and drinks, rest assured we left very pleased. All in all, this was an extraordinary stay for us. Nothing but max points. Wish we'll have the chance to visit again.

It was a perfect stay at Bessho Sasa my family and I really appreciated the superb service the staff provided my family (I travelled with my 88-year old mum so we had quite a lot of needs) with. I had left some items in the room and they promptly had it couriered to me in Tokyo. The dinners each night were very well prepared, each day was fun-filled with so many activities. The Taiko show was done so professionally I was surprised that the drummers were all staff of the resort!! I would love to re-visit the resort again some day.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Mercure Yatsugatake as a family traveling with a baby. The hotel is surrounded by nature, with beautiful views of the mountains, which immediately creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere — perfect for families who want to slow down and breathe. The hotel is very family-friendly. Traveling with a baby can be stressful, but the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everyone was kind, patient, and attentive, which really made a difference for us as parents. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with enough space to comfortably stay with a baby. We especially appreciated the peaceful environment at night, which allowed our baby (and us!) to rest well. The facilities were also well suited for families. The common areas are easy to navigate with a stroller, and the overall layout of the hotel feels relaxed and not overwhelming. The natural surroundings add a special charm and make the stay feel refreshing and rejuvenating. Overall, Grand Mercure Yatsugatake is an excellent choice for families with babies who are looking for comfort, tranquility, and good service in a beautiful natural setting. We would definitely consider coming back and recommend it to other families traveling with young children.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Shimobe Hotel. I originally wanted to stay at a nearby temple in Mount Minobe but realized that it was mainly an experience made for foreigners. I think we were the only foreigners there for our 2-night stay. I personality want to avoid staying with foreigners and want more of the local experience. The service was great, they could check you in and out without too much of a language barrier. We added dinner during check-in without any problem, we realized that the town closed early at night and was concerned that we wouldn't find a great place to eat dinner. The buffet dinner was great and we got a complimentary sashimi plate and yuzu highball on our second day. The breakfast buffet was also very good with a mix of local and western dishes. The station is located right near the hotel so it makes it a perfect spot to make a quick Mount Minobe day trip.

The views of Mount Fuji were absolutely stunning! All the restaurants face Mount Fuji 🗻, and the breakfast was excellent too. The hotel has a hot spring, but I didn't get to try it because I had to ** [missing information, assuming it was a restriction or obligation] 😂. There's a shuttle bus from the hotel back to Kawaguchiko Station (every hour). Overall, I was very satisfied.

🌟 Taking my kids and elderly parents to see Mt. Fuji and enjoy hot springs was an amazing experience at Fuji Lake Hotel in Kawaguchiko, far exceeding my expectations. [Smiling face][Grinning face] We visited during summer with my kids and two 80-year-old parents. Since my parents can't walk much, we decided to visit Lake Fuji and downtown Tokyo. Considering the multiple transfers involved with taking a train and bus from Narita Airport, we opted for a private car. On a weekday, traffic wasn't too bad, taking about 2.5 hours. We drove through downtown Tokyo, enjoyed the scenery, and even stopped at a rest area. However, private car rentals here are quite expensive. [Smiling face][Grinning face] We chose Fuji Lake Hotel, located right by Lake Kawaguchiko, offering fantastic views. Opened in 1971 and renovated in 1990, the hotel is older than me, but the facilities are incredibly well-maintained; you'd never guess its age. It's about 1000 meters from Kawaguchiko Station and only 400 meters from the ropeway station and boat pier. [Smiling face][Grinning face] The hotel is divided into East and West wings, with spacious rooms. If you're used to small rooms in Tokyo, you'll find these very comfortable, with plenty of space to open your luggage. We chose a package with breakfast and dinner. Dinner is a buffet with a wide variety of options, including wagyu beef, sashimi, tempura, and all-you-can-drink beverages. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese and Western styles, both very satisfying. Both meals are served in a restaurant with beautiful views – you can sit by the window to see either the lake or the mountains. The wagyu beef teppanyaki, cooked fresh, was incredibly tender and fragrant. [Smiling face][Grinning face] Let me specifically talk about the hot springs. The public bathhouse has both indoor and outdoor baths, as well as semi-outdoor ones. It's clean and tidy, with massage chairs at the entrance for relaxation, though the public bath doesn't offer views of Mt. Fuji. Upon check-in, we were asked to choose our yukata and towels, which came in an eco-friendly bag, making for a very comfortable soak after a day of sightseeing. [Smiling face] The real highlight is the private onsen. There are private baths that can be reserved; those in the East Wing face Mt. Fuji, while those in the West Wing face Lake Kawaguchiko. Prices and sizes vary slightly. Some rooms with open-air baths also offer mountain views. On a clear day, soaking while watching the morning light on the snow-capped peak is a wonderful experience. If you want a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, remember to go to the observation deck on the 7th floor of the East Wing in the morning for an expansive view. The facilities aren't brand new but are kept very clean, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. There's a significant price difference between weekdays and weekends, and booking early also secures a better rate, making it good value for money if you get it. Also, there's no snow on Mt. Fuji during the summer; it's only visible about 80 days a year, mostly in the mornings before clouds obscure it around noon.

The guest rooms were as described in the reviews. The toilet paper was inconveniently placed and difficult to use. The bathroom in the room had a terrible odor when the water was turned on, although I didn't use it. The hot-drink glasses in the room were fine. I was inconvenienced by the lack of slippers provided in the building. The large public bath was enjoyable, with many open-air baths and saunas. The breakfast and welcome drink service were also good. The daytime and evening meals were all decent. However, there were many drunk guests at night, and the smell and noise were irritating. Overall, it's not a bad hotel. I would like to use it again.

I absolutely loved the hotel's style. It has a very tranquil and peaceful atmosphere that makes the world feel less chaotic. This time, I stayed in the Butterfly room. From the moment I was picked up at the station by the staff to the check-in introduction, everything about the stay was fantastic 👍🏻. Also, breakfast was personally escorted to the Dining Room by the staff, and I was completely full after the meal 🤣. Oh, by the way, everyone should try the inconspicuous little ramen stand diagonally opposite the hotel at the traffic light 🍜. It was my first time hearing that a street food stall required a reservation, and I waited an hour before finally 'cutting in' to get a spot 😂. It's just less than a minute away, directly opposite the hotel at the traffic light. The taste was really good for that area. Finally, thanks again to the hotel staff for their thoughtful arrangements.

Staying at this resort was a truly relaxing experience. The peaceful and quiet surroundings, combined with the beautiful view of Mount Fuji, made it unforgettable. The highlight was soaking in the hot spring while looking out at the mountain — it was incredibly calming and special. The resort itself is small and a bit old, but it has a cozy and tranquil atmosphere that adds to its charm. If you are looking for a place to unwind away from the busy city, this is a great choice. I would especially recommend it for families who want to spend quality time together in a serene environment.
