"Dit was de eerste keer dat ik in dit buffetrestaurant heb gegeten en ik was enorm onder de indruk van de attente service van de obers! Van de enthousiaste begeleiding bij de deur tot de nauwkeurige verzorging tijdens de maaltijd: alle personeelsleden straalden professionaliteit en warmte uit. Ik wil graag een speciaal compliment geven aan de twee obers. Zij hadden altijd een glimlach op hun gezicht, namen het initiatief om te helpen met het verschonen van de borden, ruimden de tafel af en herinnerden ons er vriendelijk aan als de gerechten werden vervangen. Zelfs als er tijdens drukke eetmomenten veel mensen zijn, blijven ze geduldig en attent. Ze besteden altijd aandacht aan de behoeften van de klanten en zorgen er nooit voor dat de kwaliteit van de service afneemt vanwege de drukte. Het restaurant heeft een uitgebreide menukaart, maar wat mij het meeste heeft geïmponeerd, is de onvoorwaardelijke medewerking van het hele serviceteam. De maaltijden worden snel aangevuld, de omgeving is schoon en de sfeer is ontspannen en warm. De obers zijn niet alleen efficiënt en professioneel, maar zorgen er ook voor dat elke gast zich gewaardeerd en gelukkig voelt. Dit soort service attitude voegt echt veel toe aan de eetervaring. "Great location and they were all super nice. However the room was super hot and there is no AC. When we asked they brought up a portable unit but it wasn’t nearly enough to keep the room comfortable. If it’s winter it could be a great spot but definitely look elsewhere in the late spring and summer."

"Unfortunately, the overall stay was not great. When we booked the hotel, we specifically requested a non-smoking room, which is essential for us because of health issues. After double confirming with the hotel that they have non-smoking rooms (based on the website, all rooms are non smoking), we paid for our booking. However, shortly after, they informed us that smoking in hotel rooms is common and unavoidable in Taiyuan. We felt deceived into making the payment and realized we were stuck with this accommodation for our 7-day stay. Upon checking in, we had to request a room change due to a strong smoke smell in the original room. The second room was better and the hotel staff was nice enough to provide an air purifier. Throughout our entire stay, people were smoking in the elevator, lobby, and even at the dinner table. If we had known this beforehand, we would have reconsidered staying here. For a 5-star hotel, it did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately, we paid far too much for this experience. The only highlight of our stay was the hotel staff. They were always friendly, helpful, and did their very best to serve the guests, which made our trip a bit more enjoyable. We thank them for their excellent service."

De afscheiding is halftransparant. De andere is de cilinder langzaam en er zijn geen andere hotels met een snelle cilindersnelheid."

"De service is erg goed. De conciërge-oom brengt je naar je kamer en geeft een uitgebreide uitleg. Het eten in het restaurant is heerlijk en, belangrijker nog, niet duur. Er zijn lokale snacks. Het hotel biedt ook veel gratis drankjes aan. Als het niet genoeg is, maken ze dat goed. De bedden worden opgemaakt. De fruit- en handgeschilderde schilderijen zijn erg warm. Er zijn ook veel parkeerplaatsen. Alleen wordt het opsluitingscentrum ernaast gerenoveerd, waardoor het wat lawaaierig is. Maar over het algemeen is het prima en het ligt dicht bij de oude stad. Trouwens, staat er in Datong geen verkeersbord met de tekst: Voetgangers krijgen een boete van 5 yuan als ze door rood rijden en elektrische voertuigen krijgen een boete van 20 yuan als ze de regels overtreden? Er zijn zoveel mensen en elektrische voertuigen die zich niet aan de verkeersregels houden, maar er zijn geen boetes. Vrienden die rijden, moeten oppassen."

"A place that allowed us to rejuvenate and sleep well! It has a hot spring tub in the room. Bed is a king size bed. Toilet has a sewer smell though, so that is one minus point. Service is awesome. Service staffs were helping us to bring our luggage down and up the car. They also helped navigate our car into the old city. We appreciate the free snacks and arrival drinks. The disposable toothbrush is surprisingly usable. The location is near to food street; the staff will gladly direct you to it. Thanks for the staff — 丽莎，小赵，小良!"

"My room was spotless—so clean and fresh, and completely non-smoking, which was a huge plus. I loved relaxing in the bathtub while taking in the view. Breakfast was a solid win with varieties of options, both international and Chinese. My favorite part was the freshly squeezed juice —such a nice touch! The Chinese restaurant downstairs was also great, especially the spicy chicken dish. If you like bold flavors, it's a must-try. The hotel offers four mineral hot bath pools, which looked super clean. They do come at an extra charge, but they seem worth it if you're looking to unwind. Speaking of relaxation, the spa was amazing! The lady massager was incredibly kind, helping me with my lower back pain after a long week of traveling. She even shared a tip—walking backward to ease the pain! The only downside was that during the spring season, there’s no air conditioning. If the room gets a bit warm, you’ll need to open the window for cooler air. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend this place!"

"We brachten twee heerlijke nachten door in het Yungang Hotel in Datong. Allereerst onze diepste dankbaarheid aan Yang wen yuan - 杨文元. Toen we vanuit Europa boekten, wisten we niet goed hoeveel tijd we nodig hadden om bij de grotten en het hangende klooster te komen (een must om te zien als je in Datong bent). We dachten dat we door gebruik te maken van het openbaar vervoer beide in korte tijd konden doen. Zo fout! We kwamen aan en Yang wen yuan - 杨文元 stelde ons gerust en in minder dan 30 minuten kon hij ons helpen en een privéauto voor de volgende dag voor ons boeken. Hij maakte ons verblijf onvergetelijk. Heel erg bedankt namens ons allebei als je dit leest! Bovendien is dit hotel geweldig: supernieuw, technologisch en het personeel is supervriendelijk (van degenen in de lobby tot die in het restaurant/cafetaria). Het ontbijt is geweldig. Je kunt alles krijgen, vers voor je gemaakt."

The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating. They upgraded us to a family room, and the breakfast spread was fantastic, offering a great mix of local Shanxi specialties and Western options. We wanted to extend our stay in the same room, but it wasn't available. However, the lobby staff went above and beyond to arrange a king-size room for us. While it was a bit pricier, it felt completely worth it. The TV was a little small, but the rewind function was a great bonus, allowing us to catch up on shows.

This is by far the best value five-star hotel in Taiyuan. The management is well-organized, and the hygiene is consistently excellent, making you feel right at home. Both the facilities and services are well-maintained. The surrounding area offers a complete range of commercial amenities and convenient transportation, with a subway entrance right next to the hotel. Tianmei and Beimei New World shopping centers are just next door. Overall, it's great value for money. The only minor drawback is that it's an older hotel and could use a full renovation. Given that Shanxi is a strong tourist province, a refurbishment would certainly justify a price increase.

Although it is an old hotel, the service attitude is still very comfortable. Ms. Cairong at the front desk helped me deliver my luggage to the room. The dining environment is very clean and hygienic, and the dishes are plentiful... The waiter Guo Defeng has been warmly asking what to drink, and he also helped to bring fruits. The chef Han Maorong is also a super funny girl, telling me that there are freshly cooked noodles, wontons, fried eggs, etc. , The variety is quite complete~ The hotel as a whole makes me feel very comfortable and awesome!

The hot spring hotel has been awesome. The room is very big, super clean and bright enough in areas like the bathroom. It is warm enough even in winter due to the underfloor heating,, so I have to turn off the room air con heating. The hotel front desk team is even more awesome. They are always ready to help with all kinds of queries and needs. When we were leaving, they even gave us a bottle of local vinegar as a gift. The hot spring is not located inside the hotel like the Japanese onsen. It is a couple of hundred meters away, but the hotel provided an electric buggy to ferry you to and fro. The hot spring area itself has a changing room, where you can out on the bathrobe before you step out in the open and into the hot spring. So even in winter, it is still manageable and you should not catch a cold. Some regular hot spring users even put on their down feather jacket over the bathrobe, and that surely is more effective. There are even security personnel at the hot spring to make sure there is help if you get into difficulties. Breakfast is also good. The hotel also uses the buggy to fetch you to a posh looking restaurant in the hotel vicinity. Food is good, and not too expensive. There is also a small retail outlet next to the restaurant. The prices there are very reasonable.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Yungang Hotel. First off, the price was very reasonable, even during peak season, and they didn't arbitrarily inflate prices! Secondly, the check-in experience was fantastic. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by marble carvings everywhere, giving it a very upscale and luxurious feel. The hotel also has Fenglin Pavilion on the first floor, which serves amazing food, and there's no need to wait in line! The breakfast spread at the aquatic restaurant on the lower ground floor was incredibly varied. The room itself was large and new, with a high level of smart technology. The air conditioning was powerful, and the staff provided excellent service!

The breakfast here is probably the best I've ever had! So many options and really hearty dishes, no wonder everyone who visits Shanxi needs a nap afterwards 💤. Service was good, though they weren't very flexible with upgrades this time. Also, the projection in the movie room wasn't working properly… The welcome fruit was just okay, didn't really fancy it. The first Starbucks coffee on the first day of my stay was a nice touch though – perfect for an early morning pick-me-up.
