Windwalker Cabin is our remote vacation retreat cabin nestled on 20 acres of remote wooded mountainside in the Blue Ridge Mountains, halfway between Boone and West Jefferson. High Speed internet for web surfing and TV streaming. Cabin is located north of Boone near the Historic town of Todd. Check out Toddnc.org for local happenings. We’re only a little over 3 miles from the awesome New River. Cabin located on old gravel road, so please drive slowly. Native trout live in stream that runs near property and Rainbow, Brown and Brook trout are stocked just below the property in the hatchery supported area of Three Top Creek. There are several roadside access locations downstream from property for public fishing. Wildlife is bountiful all around the property. Awesome bird watching too. Beautifully furnished and decorated cabin, with firepit just off porch. Full size refrigerator and stove, with all the utensils you will need. Coffee pot, blender, microwave as well as pots, pans, bowls etc. Stargazing on clear nights is just awesome! Located just over 3 miles from Historic Todd. Just 13 miles from shopping, restaurants, movies etc. in Boone or West Jefferson. Only 24 miles from Blowing Rock. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a short 20 minute drive away. There is Tubing, guided fishing tours, canoeing and kayaking located in and around Todd. This 400 square foot true log cabin with all wood interior is the perfect place for a quaint getaway. Cabin is located on a country gravel road so potholes are normal and speed limit is 10 mph. The driveway for owners house runs past the cabin, so an occasional car will pass by. This is a farm and occasionally a tractor, ATV or other equipment is in use. We also use building near cabin but try hard not to disturb our guests. Sorry no smoking inside. Kitchen is equipped with cooking and baking supplies, coffee-maker, coffee and tea, and plenty of counter space. Cabinet space allows you to tuck all your food stuffs away. Two bedrooms, each with an attached full bathroom. The master features a large, inset queen mattress, simple design, and adorned with house plants. You’ll find the cabin nestled into the hillside and surrounded by acres of undeveloped woodland.Indoor SpacesInside, you'll feel right at home with the cozy cabin charm. The cabin is newly renovated, but the large stone fireplace, wood paneling, and ceiling rafters still lend a rustic vibe. We hope you'll get a kick out of the retro decor and accessories, but we've also added modern amenities like a gas grill and air fryer. The front half of the house features an open floor plan for the living room, dining area, and kitchen. Large windows let in plenty of light and create a treehouse effect as you look out on the mountain foliage. In the living room, there’s plenty of room for the whole family on the comfy sectional couch. On chilly nights, cozy up to the fireplace or watch a movie on the Roku TV (Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, live Roku channels). The kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare meals at home, from cookware to spices, condiments, and coffee. Appliances include an air fryer, microwave, panini press, drip coffee maker, and stovetop espresso maker. A short hallway leads to two bedrooms at the rear of the house. Relax like royalty in the master bedroom’s king 4-poster bed with luxurious Sealy Posturepedic mattress. This room also features it’s own private half-bath (a shared full bathroom is available down the hall). The second bedroom has additional sleeping space, with a twin-over-full bunk bed with pull-out twin trundle. For larger groups, the living room couches can be made up to sleep two adults.Get competitive in the basement game room, featuring a pool table, foosball and darts! A working fireplace adds ambiance, and the two sets of sliding glass doors provide easy access to the front and rear of the house. ***Please note that the basement is only partially finished at this time. The main game room has a combo of wood paneling and cinderblock walls, and the floor is concrete. The ceiling is mostly finished, but there is one section where the drywall is not complete. There is also an additional unfinished room that we are using for storage. The lower level is also only accessible through the exterior sliding doors and not through the inside of the house. We are working on completing these renovations, and hope to have this area finished by the New Year.Outdoor SpacesThe hot tub is located on a covered deck at the rear of the house on the lower level, and can be accessed via the game room or a path around the side of the house. Enjoy a relaxing soak rain or shine, and ambient lighting creates a mellow mood after dark. The large front porch is a guest favorite. By day, you can watch the busy flock of hummingbirds while you recline on the porch swing or gravity lounge chair. The gas grill and patio table are perfect for a sunset dinner, and in the evening, rope lighting creates the perfect ambiance while you listen to the sounds of the river.A short set of stairs leads down the outdoor firepit, the perfect spot for marshmallows under the stars.
