"Dit hotel is zowel qua exterieur als qua inrichting van de kamers uitstekend en biedt een comfortabel en prachtig verblijf. Het enige nadeel is het ontbreken van een lift, waardoor gasten hun bagage de trap op en af moeten dragen, wat onhandig kan zijn voor mensen met grote koffers. "Perfect location on Norodni Trg and beautiful, spacious room. Boutique hotel with only 12 rooms and a great breakfast. Highly recommend. Note that it can be a tad difficult to find the actual hotel. It’s located on 2nd level above the ground floor cafe with the entrance from the small walk street on the left."

"We stayed for two nights and the room had everything we needed. It is based in Old Town, so it is not accessible by car. It’s about 5 minute walk to the nearest drop off point. Only stairs to get into the building and up to the room, no elevator."

"It has everything you need in an apartment. Apartment is well kept and clean. Clean towel and toiletries are provided. Apartment is difficult to locate. Make sure you ask for detailed directions from the hostel. Hostel does not provide 24hrs reception and keys are kept outside the gate with detailed instructions to get them.
Location is just a few minutes walk to the Palace, promenade, restaurants and cafes and the inter city bus terminal. A supermarket is located around the corner. Overall a very satisfactory stay."

"We were on our honeymoon & the staff at Skaline decorated the room with ribbons and sweet messages! Really cute! All the staff were super friendly and sweet too. We found the bed too soft & our backs were aching & the staff helped to flip the mattress. We had a few early mornings & could not make it to breakfast and they gave us pre packed sandwiches fruits and a drink the night before! Room was clean, staff were great, a truly enjoyable stay!"

"Zeer goede locatie, op de 14e verdieping van een kantoorgebouw, op 15 minuten lopen van het treinstation, het busstation, de pier en de oude stad. De kamer is zeer ruim en schoon, en het uitzicht is heel erg goed (het niveau van het observatiedek is ongeëvenaard). Maar het probleem is dat de contactgegevens van het hotel op Ctrip verkeerd zijn (het is het telefoonnummer van een ander bedrijf onder Luxury, niet dit hotel), en het hotel heeft geen receptie. Het duurde lang voordat ik contact opnam het hotel om in te checken. Foto 3 in de reacties is het juiste telefoonnummer."

SSeat 2AThis is an intimate 5-room establishment situated amidst the alleys of the Old Town, hence cars cannot drop passengers at the doorstep. Easy enough to catch a shuttle bus for EUR 8 from the airport to the bus station at the port, from which a Makarun staff will meet you and assist you with your luggage to the hotel, a 10-minute walk away.
Breakfast is a la carte, as is to be expected for such a small establishment, comprising 3 courses - pastry/toast, eggs of your choice with cold cuts, and a dessert, complemented by tea coffee and/or juice. Food was more than adequate in terms of quantity and quality.
My room was comfortable enough, though 2 issues were noticeable:
* Instead of a flat cotton bed sheet, there was a fitted sheet made of what seemed like jersey, and looked more like a mattress protector.This was pilled and coarse, in contrast to the far smoother cotton quilt cover. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they explained that this is standard for the hotel. Whilst it did not affect the quality of my sleep, the coarseness of the sheet wasn't entirely pleasant
* In the bathroom, the shower was mounted at waist height, hence one either had to hold the shower in one hand, or, if there was a need to use both hands to wash, then one would have to crouch under the shower while it was in its holder. Not particularly convenient.
Overall a comfortable stay in a convenient location, enhanced by the friendly and solicitous Ivan and Mario.

GGastgebruikerLocation was good as not far from the main train and bus station. Good communication beforehand from the manager asking me when I would be arriving and then providing details of the apartment and that it would be open with the key inside, so all worked well there. For a self catering style apartment no cooking facilities not a problem just thought there might be some, fridge, crockery and kettle in the room which were all good. Plenty of towels and bedding left for my stay. One thing was there was no communication about how to check out.

GGabrielaMedranoThis is a self check in hotel. The hotel staff gives you all the instructions to get the key. I was fortunate to arrive at 3 pm and met the person in charge of the hotel. She explained to me everything. During summer if you open the window the AC stops working. So you basically stay with the windows closed or feel the heat with open windows. The breakfast was okay. The crepes were SO big for 1 person. The omelet was good size too. The room is big. There is security box and fridge.
Let's mention the bad things: you need to go up to your room and bring your suitcase sometimes to the 3rd floor. The toilet was big but it had a strong smell. The soap for hands was so strong. Very strong smell. Why do you use that soap?. You need to change this (just saying...) . There is a bar in the 1st floor that belongs to the hotel. There was a football match and a person turned on the volume of the TV so loud at 11 pm. I had to go downstairs to tell the staff I had to sleep. Expensive accommodation but what do you expect from Split?

GGastgebruikerPro - very close to the Golden Gate and is easy to find. Check in is straightforward. The room is on the first floor above ground so it wasn't the most difficult thing to lift our luggages up.
Con - (1) the actual room looks nothing like the pictures online. The online pictures (taken with wide lens mode) show the room to be much larger and brighter, whereas the room is in fact very small and relatively poorly lit. For one, the bed is literally two footsteps away from the door, and we were struggling to find space to open our luggages.
(2) One of the beds in the room is in fact a sofa bed, but the property did not declare this when we booked. We spent a lot of time trying to book places which do not use sofa beds but actual beds, and so we can't help but feel that we were misled and misrepresented to.
(3) There is a bit of noise. The property is right next to the road and near a pub with some rowdy youths at times.
(4) Facilities are minimal. There is only one chair, and the table is very small. Everything else is basic. Nothing luxurious about it despite its name and the photos.
(5) There is no lift at the property.
We would not have chosen this property if we had a second chance.

GGastgebruikerI extended my stay with 2 more nights because the location of the hotel is perfect for my group. The common spaces are spacious and so are the rooms.
But we got a room right next to the lift and the room had a door with the room next door. Because of that, the noise from the neighbors during the last night was pretty disturbing!
And again, the breakfast is somehow disappointing for an hotel from that level. We stayed in a smaller 4 star hotel at the beginning of our stay in Split and the breakfast was much nicer and so was the cappuccino.

-Staff was very absent and you need a key to get in the hotel and in room. we forgot our key in our room and realised after dinner around 11pm and even though staff should be in hotel until 3am : no one was there . We had to contact by phone only but being Canadian we didn’t have a working phone . We almost slept outside. . We got help from neighbour restaurant.
- staff supposed to start again at 7 am ; we left at 8 without checking out as again there was no one .
- my daughter got her EarPods stolen in our room we could locate them with the Apple app and could see exactly where they were . Again no staff at all in hotel to tell them cleaning person stole. (We are SURE 100% they were stolen as they didn’t leave the room we never brought electronics with us anywhere and the location they were at was 7km away from hotel where we had never been.
- they offer steaming service, I wanted to use it but they told my it took 1 week to fet my clothing back .. we were there for 4 days. Staff offered to bring a steamer to my room so I could do it myself . They never brought it…
-there was a beautiful terrace on the 4th floor but we only found out about it on our last night .
- we wanted to go to a beach and the staff said it was a 45 min walk and that’s only way to go. We walked . Finally when we got there .. we could have takes a trolley for 3euro …. We took it to come back.
