"Personally, I was not comfortable here. Lots of chit chat, guests in the kitchen with the host in the evening until around 11:30 pm. I would have liked some peace and quiet. Awakened about every two hours by someone in the kitchen, at 2:00 am and 4:00 am in the morning. The house itself is not in good shape. Electrical outlets are in bad shape, rooms are sparse, common areas are untidy. Cleanliness overall is not the worst but questionable at best. Outside, grass is long and yard is cluttered with piles of bricks and just stuff. Bathroom and moldy clothes washer especially, smell so so bad. Appreciated the mini fridge in the room with water as the room was hot at night. Sleeping with the window open wasn’t an option as the house is on a main thoroughfare. Appreciated the bed and pillows. They were fine. Unfortunately, although the price is right, I can’t recommend this b and b."

"We stay 2 days during the AMO conference and had a very pleasant stay. It is close to the market area and the Rogers Center. The staff could not have been more pleasant. I had conversations with the manager of housekeeping, guest services and food services, they were exceptionally kind and were patient when I asked numerous questions about the new Moxy’s. The breakfast was delicious and was served by “Baz” , an exceptional server. We enjoyed the patio to just catch a breath during our busy stay. Very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We asked for a more comfortable chair in our room and one was delivered very quickly. Truly a great place to stay!!!!"

"Ik boekte een minisuite en die was verrassend ruim en comfortabel. De algehele sfeer van de kamer en het donkere tapijt op de vloer deden me echter twijfelen of het wel schoon was... Ik zag zelfs insecten... ㅠ De locatie voelde een beetje ver van de toeristische attracties. De ontbijtruimte was ruim, maar er waren meer mensen dan ik had verwacht. Gelukkig was de doorlooptijd snel, dus we kregen snel een tafel toegewezen. Het was eenvoudig maar heerlijk, en ik vond het erg attent dat ze zelfs een eenvoudig maaltijdpakket voor drukke mensen hadden klaarstaan. Oh, en het personeel bij de receptie was erg vriendelijk. Conclusie: Als je gevoelig bent voor netheid, zou ik het niet aanraden. Zo niet, dan is het voor de prijs niet slecht."

"Overall a great experience and very well located hotel. Many people from Ottawa don’t even know it exists but it is located right between Parliament Hill, Byward Market, the Rideau Canal and the University of Ottawa, all within reasonable walking distance. The room was nearly organised and clean, they provide fresh bed sheets, a towel, and a locker for each person in the room for the dorms. The bathrooms have body wash. The services are great too as they hold your luggage and offer different activities to do. A big highlight was the free jail tour in the mornings where they provide insights on what the building was like during its run. My friends from Ottawa came with me and found it interesting too as a local. If you do not have time for that, each floor has informative banners that explain similar historical background. Furthermore, they had laminated sheets in the lobby with recommendations for places to go beyond the regular tourist staples and great places to eat. I went with one of their restaurant recommendations and it was delicious! Note that I do not think it is accessible since it is a building that has to be preserved in its original state, there is no elevator, but each floor is only around half a flight of stairs. Sound also travels a lot in the hostel because of the jail’s design, but they provide ear plugs at the front desk. The breakfast was also great :)"
