"Het is moeilijk voor te stellen dat zo'n oud hotel nog steeds brandschoon kan zijn. Hoewel je een behoorlijk steile heuvel op moet, is de omgeving rustig en elegant. De kamers bevinden zich op een plek waar je de lift kunt nemen, maar je moet nog wel een klein trapje op. Het was een beetje lastig om de bagage te dragen bij het uitchecken. De service in het hele hotel was echter uitstekend en het eten was voortreffelijk en heerlijk. De badkuip in de suite was echter ernstig beschadigd. Hoewel hij niet vies was, was het toch een beetje een schok om te zien. Ik vraag me af of ze aarzelen om hem te vervangen?"

"The hotel and rooms were excellent, and the dinner and breakfast we booked were plentiful and exquisite. The wine was also very good. The owner, who is also the hotel's designer, is incredibly kind and welcoming. During dinner, he went to each table to chat with guests and inquire about their dining and accommodation arrangements. The only downside is the location; it's quite far from the bus stop, requiring a long walk or a taxi ride to reach the hotel, but the experience was definitely worth it."

"This amazing hotel is located in the heart of Kinugawa with views over the gorge and is a 15 minute drive to Nikko. On arrival there are staff to take your car and bags and to check you in which is a seamless experience. There is coffee and tea available on arrival while you wait. This occurs in a pleasant lounge overlooking the forested valley. Across from the lounge is a well appointed shop. We had room 212 for three nights which was a spacious room done in traditional Japanese style. Although plainly decorated it had a very authentic feel and design. The room had a nice balcony but this could not easily be used as the afternoons were hot. There was minimal view from this room limited to trees and forested hillside and not the river. Perhaps the higher floors would likely have a better view. Spacious bathroom with a separate toilet. Good shower but no external curtain or privacy screen available. Along with the Onsen being out in the open on the balcony we found this lacked privacy for our liking. There was excellent responsive air conditioning. The room rate includes free mini bar with beer and iced tea and water. Only negative was poor quality towels and tissues. All staff were extremely attentive and nothing is too much for them. Excellent Alacarte breakfast was brought directly to your table. You are offered a choice between Japanese and Western breakfast. Some options rotated each day. Apart from this the choice was limited to 3 types of eggs. Everything was quality. Included in the rate was half board dinner each evening. Whilst you are at dinner your futon bed is made up in your room complete with turn down service which was usually a snack for later in the evening. The meal is 2 plus hours and very Japanese but again absolute quality. After three nights it does feel excessive to be enjoying a lengthy multi course menu but we did get to experience many meals that we would not normally try. The attention to detail went so far as having different crockery for each course. Some of these were very artistic. Overall this is an amazing one off experience although you do pay for the privilege."

Extra punten voor de massage stoel die echt een goede verlichting was na een lange dag. Alleen de nadeel is een kikker was te klein en te zacht, wat me naakte de volgende morgen. Ligging een beetje uit de stad, zou een auto nodig om hier te komen voor comfort. Maar over het algemeen een geweldig verblijf en zal komen aanbevelingen!"

"Gunstige locatie. Het is slechts 5 minuten lopen van station Tobu Nikko (het station waar je aankomt als je vanuit Asakusa komt). Het is een luxe hotel met een openbaar bad. Op de kamers vind je zelfs lotions en gezichtsreinigers en het hotel voelt over het algemeen erg nieuw aan. Het ontbijt dat bij het verblijf is inbegrepen, is prima. We hadden vegetarische curry met rijst, hardgekookte eieren, salade, brood met jam en verse melk. Het ligt vlakbij het busstation, vanwaar je naar de meeste bezienswaardigheden in Nikko kunt reizen. Je kunt het beste bij het toeristeninformatiecentrum informeren naar de busdiensten, want de bussen staan niet op Google Maps!"

The instructions for the unmanned self-service hotel were simple and clear, and customer service responded to questions very quickly. Our group of nine was originally allocated only one parking space, but the hotel kindly assisted us by adding an extra space. Since there was a lot of trash due to the large number of guests, we contacted the hotel and they arranged for someone to clean it up. Cooking utensils and cleaning supplies were plentiful. I will definitely return to this hotel next time I travel to Nikko!"

"We stayed here because we were looking for a room with an open-air hot spring bath. Shuttle bus service from Nikko Station ◎ Inexpensive drinks sold in the lobby (It's an inconvenient location, so normally they would overcharge, but they offer them cheaply instead – a thoughtful gesture ◎) Shower and hot spring bath on the room's balcony ◎ We saw staff working diligently day and night on the premises ◎ The shower suddenly turned cold at night ▽ The water heater's power cable was short and dangerous ▽ We wanted a dinner buffet ▽ We had tempura rice bowl and black curry at the restaurant this time, and both were very delicious ◎ (The batter was crispy and the inside was fluffy. I want to go back and eat the tempura rice bowl again. However, the maitake mushroom tempura we ordered as an extra was bite-sized, which was disappointing.)"
