Exploreans Beach Club & Villas Watamu
"The hotel is fantastic!!! We absolutely loved it! We initially booked for one day, but then decided to extend it for another day. It's best to buy an all-inclusive package, as the hotel is located far from amenities. But if you're traveling with a group or on your honeymoon, this is perfect. The staff is polite and friendly, the food is delicious, the amenities are excellent, and of course, the price is great. The only thing I might not like is the hot water. It's warm, perfect for showering during the day, but cool in the evening."
Ocean Beach Resort & Spa
"A beautiful place by the beach. The Spa is modern and well equipped. Great service. The staff are professional. The food is great and a wide variety. It is deal for someone looking for a quiet hide out."
Silver Rock Hotel & Beachfront Apartments
"The location was prime! Beachfront stunning and beautiful, while at the same time a short tuk-tuk or boda boda ride from the centre of town where all the shops, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, nightlife and people are. A short beach stroll away you'll also find the Coco Beach Restaurant, where you can enjoy a few nice cocktails and a tasty meal while overlooking the Indian Ocean. The hotel staff were beautiful people—lovely, professional, warm and welcoming. The hotel serves a lovely breakfast that was included with my booking. There is a spa on site. The ladies who manage this are the sweetest and provide an amazing service. I had a full body massage at the beginning of my stay and it was heaven. I can’t wait to stay at Silver Rock Hotel again. My two-bedroom apartment that I shared with my partner/friend was stunning, spacious, beautiful, awesome, with a huge balcony staring into the ocean. Breathtaking views for watching the sunrise. We had a huge living room, and our individual bedrooms were spacious with large ensuites. I felt comfortable and elegant there. The hotel building is a beautiful structure, solidly and well built, and I love the style. I felt comfortable and at home there. After a busy day of touring and sightseeing, enjoying the surrounding areas and living my best life, it was a pleasure to return to the hotel, have a nice shower, sit on the balcony with my partner with a beer in hand and have a nice chat, while listening to the ocean lapping the shore and feeling the gentle wind blowing—soft and warm, yet cool. Silver Rock is poetry. Nearby there is plenty to do, as I mentioned above, but I'd like to give a quick mention to the marine conservation area, where you can visit and arrange sea-based activities. Also along the coast the ocean can change dramatically, so go searching for those crystal clear waters and soft, beautiful sands—they are there and you will find them. Go find the inviting beach bars that I discovered with my companions, where you can laze all day, sip cocktails and look out to sea, chat about nonsense as we did, take a nap on a sunbed under an umbrella, wake, sip and chat some more. Silver Rock is a destination in and of itself, but on top of that it is more than a base—it is a comfortable home from where you can explore. xx P.S. Yes, there is a beautiful pool for a nice, refreshing morning dip, set in stunning, well-maintained gardens—perfect for idling and just the right place for tucking into a holiday book."
Q Boutique Resort Malindi
"I honestly loved my stay here. The room was super clean, spacious, and had such a calm, relaxing vibe. The staff were really friendly ,the food was amazing, and everything just felt easy and peaceful. It’s a solid 10 out of 10. I will definitely come back."
The Lawford Kenya
"Lowfords was one of the best hotels in Malindi years ago. However this time it was a disappointment as over the years it has depreciated and unfortunately there is nothing good to write about it. Rooms are big but in a bad condition furniture is as old as the hotel.Breakfast basic. Staff helpful but inexperienced Hope management will work hard to restore it to its old glory"
The Kasa Malindi - 'Formerly Leopard Point Beach Resort'
"Such a lovely place. Soo serene, the ambiance it's on another level Service on point Will definitely be coming back"

Lion in the Sun Boutique Hotel & Spa
Kilili Baharini Resort & Spa
"Overall, the hotel is good seeing that not many options in Malindi don’t have beachfronts. But maybe rates should be half the current one. We paid 200 USD per night per standard room for bed and breakfast, and we thought for what it is, it’s not worth it. We didn’t see the kind of services and amenities you’d expect from this price in Malindi. Also, breakfast was subpar for this kind of hotel and price. The breakfast wasn’t great and didn’t have many options. On my first breakfast I asked for Americano and they gave me cheap instant coffee. They replaced it with actual coffee when I told them this is bad instant coffee, but not sure why offer it in the first place. We had lunch there once and was good though. Also, for some reason they didn’t explain, we were not allowed to eat anything, even snacks, while sitting on the sun beds, only drinks allowed and if you want to eat you have to go to the restaurant or the beach bar. We thought that was unreasonably and unnecessarily restrictive. Like I wanted to chill on the sun beds while eating the desert I ordered from there, but they didn’t allow and were very insisting. They didn’t offer any explanation but “sorry, it’s not allowed.” Other beach bars and restaurants on the beach where we went to hang out allowed food while sitting on table/sun beds by the beach. Also, most hotels offer complimentary shuttle pick up from the airport (which is 12 minutes only away from the hotel). They don’t offer it for free and actually offer it at 6+ times more the market price (Uber and taxis charge 350 KES and, the hotel charges 2,000 KES.) On our first day, we seemed to be the only people at the hotel that are not there for the conference, upon arrival we went to the pool by the beach bar. We found it dirty, and full of dead flies and leaves. The staff were nice and responsive and cleaned it immediately, but why have this the pool like this until someone asks to clean it? They also say they have 5 pools (because there are pools in front of every set of four rooms) but the one in front of us was actually filthy. The water was dark and looked visibly not clean. If we asked, they would have probably cleaned it, but I’m not there to supervise and give instructions. I would’ve liked to just find things the way they’re supposed to be. These small things can be annoying though I wouldn’t say it ruined the experience, just made it a bit annoying. Like I’m coming to chill and relax without harming people, there’s no reason to “prevent” me from enjoying an ice cream while sitting watching the beach, have dirty pools, offer bad coffee…etc. we had a good experience overall and I still enjoyed my time, but I might consider other options for my next trip to Malindi seeing that it didn’t provide value for money, especially that most hotels’ rates were around one third of this one (but didn’t have beach fronts, which is probably the reason why)."
