Dali Inns

This was the perfect start to our first trip to China — the hotel was right beside erhai lake and the views from the hotel cafe and the rooms were fantastic. The rooms were very clean and facilities modern and good (particularly the hotel cafe which serves coffee (each guest can redeem 1x coffee and unlimited cornetto ice creams and snacks from the cafe). It is also a ~6 minute walk away from a family-run bicycle shop where tourists can rent a bike from (20 元 for a full day) (there are rent-as-you-go bikes along the area too but they require a Chinese ID card in order for you to book). The service was also excellent and all the staff were very attentive. Each time we returned to the hotel, the staff would greet us with an option to get a bowl of rice noodles (mi xian 米线） or chinese dessert, depending on what time we arrived. There were also free flow fruits (some small apple-like fruit and cherry tomatoes) in the hotel lobby that was stocked through the day. Fantastic stay. We will definitely return if we come back to the area. (We had entered another hotel further down the same stretch for a coffee and that other hotel’s coffee and cleanliness paled in comparison; made us very thankful that we had booked this hotel instead). 10/10!

Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient. I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated. Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. Mengling Yayuan Hotel beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for its warm service and excellent facilities.

Very nice couple who owned the Inn. Room is very big, air con and water pressure and hot water works well. Room come with kettle, microwave, small fridge and air cleaning equipment and satellite tv. Simple morning Breakfast were excellent with coffee bean machine , eggs, cold dish and carb like bun or pancakes. Free bus coach for 1 pxn , abd complimentary 1 way fetch from railway station and airport if stay more than 2/3days. Complimentary motor car for rent 1 time per stay as well. Can ride up to only 50km thus please note, I did not use as traffic can be challenging in old town. Lastly it has a washing machine as well which I did not use. Excellent place to stay and chill in Dali and I strongly encourage you and your family to stay here. Note no elevator thus if you have a large luggage, please request for ground level.

We hebben 2 nachten in het Lishe zeezicht resort hotel gebleven. Het hotel heeft ons opnieuw verbeterd naar een twee-kamer appartement dat ik niet verwacht had! Het appartement had een spectaculaire uitzicht op Erhai in de woonkamer en de masterkamer. Ik had de vooruitzichten om een vrije en gemakkelijke dag te hebben en we hebben het meeste van de tijd nogal lang gebleven om in het oog te slikken. Het team kwam via trip.com de dag voordat we inchecken (fantastisch initiatief) omdat bezoekers in het buitenland zoals ik niet bekend zijn met het gebruik van WeChat. Toen we aankwamen, waren de personeelsleden klaar om ons te ontvangen en ons naar het appartement te brengen, zoals we er via onze eigen chauffeur zijn. Het hotel stuurde nachts woestijn (witte schimmel) naar ons appartement. Een belangrijk aspect van het hotel is de heerlijke en brede ontbijtspreiding. Het ontbijt was op de hoogste verdieping met een prachtig uitzicht op Erhai, en de dame gastvrouw daar was vriendelijk, gelukkig en heeft een geweldige service. Toen we het checkte, kwamen de hotelpersoneel naar het appartement en stuurden ons naar de auto. Ze stelden ook een afscheidszak van de goeie dingen - inclusief roze Chinese tassen (die super heerlijk waren!), thee en zoetjes. Het was een vreselijk gebaar denkend. Ik had de roze Chinese taart tijdens de breek en hield van hen. Dus ik was super blij om ze te vinden in het afscheidscadeau. Ik zou sterk aanbevelen hier te blijven als je in Dali bent. collega Singaporeans- je zou dit plek graag! Zelfs als ik de upgrade niet had gekregen, zou ik ook graag het uitzicht hebben. Blijf maar een dag niets doen en geniet van het prachtige uitzicht en de gastvrijheid van het hotel. Het hotelpersoneel was dienstgericht, altijd lachend, vriendelijk en handig. Ik bedoel iedereen die we ontmoet hebben, zelfs het schoonmaakpersoneel! Dit hotel was een geweldige toon van ons Dali verblijf. Ik zou zeker terugkomen om te blijven in Lishe als volgende terug naar Dali.

Ik verbleef 3 nachten in dit hotel en had een geweldige ervaring van begin tot eind. Bij aankomst op station Dali reageerde de chauffeur snel en gaf hij duidelijke aanwijzingen naar het ophaalpunt. Hij was ook erg behulpzaam met onze bagage, waardoor onze reis soepel en prettig begon. Het hotelpersoneel was gedurende ons hele verblijf buitengewoon vriendelijk en attent. Ze gaven een upgrade van onze kamer, reageerden direct op onze behoeften (problemen met het toilet op de kamer, fietsverhuur) en gaven nuttig advies over hoe je Dali kunt verkennen, wat we zeer op prijs stelden. Onze kamer was schoon, comfortabel en bood een prachtig uitzicht – een perfecte plek om te ontspannen na een dag verkennen. Al met al was het een fantastisch verblijf en ik zou dit hotel zeker aanbevelen aan iedereen die Dali bezoekt! Ik heb ook feedback gegeven aan het hotel dat het geweldig zou zijn als er meer haakjes in de douche zouden komen. We komen zeker terug! 😀

We had the pleasure of staying at Erhai Xinglai Lakeview Inn in picturesque Dali, and our experience was nothing short of magical. From the moment we booked, the staff demonstrated exceptional hospitality, calling us to arrange for complimentary pickup from the airport. Important tip: Dali's cobblestone streets can be challenging for luggage, so be sure to call the hotel in advance to arrange for their free pickup service. Upon arrival, we were treated to a delightful tea break, complete with fresh fruits and fragrant rose tea. Witnessing the chef meticulously prepare the fruit platter for 30 minutes was a testament to the hotel's attention to detail and commitment to excellence. It's clear that every aspect of our stay was crafted with love. The hotel offers thoughtful amenities, including: - Photography package for capturing memories - Nighttime milk service, delivering warm milk to your doorstep before bed - Cozy library with an impressive selection of adult fiction, non-fiction, and children's books Near the hotel, there are live singing performances in the evenings, featuring talented vocalists performing ********* and Chinese classics (we enjoyed listening from the comfort of our room!) The staff's warm hospitality, combined with the hotel's charming ambiance and thoughtful touches, made our stay in Dali truly unforgettable. We highly recommend Erhai Xinglai to anyone seeking a tranquil retreat in this beautiful town.

value for money type of stay on this side of Dali. With good views and a good location after you get used to looking for the right alley. There is a rooftop communal area that is superb for photos and just watching the sunset. Plenty of amenities that would surprise you - tea pot set, hanging rack outside your room.

Service was fantastic, the host was superb! Place was clean, convenient, and included all that one could need on a vacation. In the heart of Ancient Dali, this was perfect for food, entertainment, and shopping. It is also minutes away from the famous Cangshan mountain, and the host is very considerate in assisting you with any arrangement you'd like, including cabs for railway and airport transportation. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the room matched exactly the photos that are on the site. Very often this is not the case. So, all in all it was a very pleasant experience at this location. Would definitely stay again and certainly would recommend this to anyone travelling to Dali. As a single female, I found this place to be very safe...especially with a considerate host, who looks out for you!

酒店環境特別特別好，位置在雙廊的玉幾島上，位置極佳，離楊麗萍老師的太陽宮月亮宮特別特別近，在屋裡可以喂海鷗，床上可以賞風景，超級棒，尤其酒店的服務太好了！都是一對一管家式服務，特別是服務我們的小張同學，非常細緻周到熱情有禮貌，提前迎接，還送我們到停車場，為孩子準備的可愛的小拖鞋和牙刷，精心準備的下午茶，太滿意了！酒店公共區域也為客人開放，在海邊喝杯咖啡，吃點零食，太棒了！

We rented the Garden Deluxe Room, with a mountain view. We find the description and pictures were accurately advertised, and the service was impeccable. We were very pleased with our rental, as it was private, clean and orderly. The hotel is conveniently located within the Dali Ancient Town, close to Biai Road and Renmin Road intersection (see picture of map). The morning and night views from the terrace were stunning. The Dali Ancient Town is as lively as you would imagine, with tons of food and shopping options. Our experience in Dali was awesome, with it's majestic mountains, beautiful lake, vibrant towns and peaceful villages. However, the best part of this stay was our interactions with the hotel owners, who are a lovely couple. They are good people - very kind, helpful and approachable. Although we had to use an English to Mandarin translation app for most of our conversations, they were patient and made recommendations that we really enjoyed. They helped us book a tour of Erhai Lake and we had a wonderful time sightseeing with the bus tour company (highly recommended if you don't know where to start exploring). We also took their scooter bike to explore the Three Pagodas on our own and drove around the lake afterwards. Please consider renting their scooter bike, as it was super fun and the price is very affordable. As language is a barrier for us, they not only helped us book our ride to Lijiang, but they also gave us a hotel recommendation, which their son runs. To us, they are very trustworthy, so we're sure we will have another pleasant stay in Lijiang. After all, it's not how clean the hotel is, or how beautiful the surroundings are, it's the people we meet along the way that makes it a wonderul trip experience. If there is another hotel rating for overall hotel experience, it would be a 10/5 for us. The owners definitely made our short stay very comfortable and our adventures amazing - thank you so much! We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are in this area again!
