"You can't fault the location of this hotel and from the outside it looks decent. But inside it's a different story with tired / out dated decor and renovation needed in a few areas. We booked a 'panoramic suite' for three nights which was meant to be a highlight of our holiday but it was disappointing and had no air conditioning so was unbearably hot. It definitely wasn't worth nearly 2000 euros for 3 nights even in peak season. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful though. I rarely take time to leave a review but over a month later I still feel ripped off by this hotel."

"We booked a connecting room for five people. It was listed as a Junior Family Room, so we expected one large room, but it was actually two small rooms facing each other. Our biggest problem was a very small, easily overlooked step (about 1cm) when stepping outside the room. We were all careful, but my elderly mother tripped over it and fell hard forward, injuring her arm and hurting her back. There was a pharmacy right in front of the hotel, so we consulted them and bought some bandages and other first-aid supplies. We were so worried and disappointed that my mother got hurt like this after traveling all the way to Germany. Also, we noticed shortly after arriving that the window lock was broken and couldn't be properly closed. We contacted the hotel, but the staff member who came to check simply said that's how it was. Street noise was audible late into the night. The breakfast was great; there was a wide variety of options, and the time allotted was long, allowing us to relax. The staff were also kind. I considered contacting the hotel directly about the step and the issue of my mother's injury, but since the window issue had already occurred, I thought it wouldn't make a difference, so I decided against it. Perhaps I should have said something after all. I'm leaving this review with a feeling of deep disappointment."

"Het hotel is erg oud en vervallen. De receptionist is een immigrant uit het Midden-Oosten en had een zeer slechte houding. Ik begrijp niet waarom een hotel bij zo'n bekende attractie personeel uit het Midden-Oosten inhuurt. Hun Engels en houding zijn allebei slecht, en ze discrimineren gasten. Chinezen, blijf weg! Er lag nog een gebruikte deken van de vorige gast in de kamer en die was niet schoongemaakt. Er waren spinnenwebben in de hoeken. Het leek wel op een Chinees pension uit de jaren '80. Een dikke onvoldoende!"

"De locatie, op slechts een korte loopafstand van station Füssen, was geweldig. De indeling van de kamer was interessant, met gangen die omhoog, omlaag, naar links en naar rechts gingen, als een doolhof, lol. De kamer had een bergachtige sfeer. Ik was verbaasd dat er geen koelkast was... Ik heb de volgende ochtend geluncht en ontbeten in het restaurant van het hotel. Het was heerlijk. Bedankt voor jullie gastvrijheid."

"I stayed here to visit Neuschwanstein Castle. The hotel was super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Füssen train station. You can also get a guest card at the front desk, which is valid for the bus to Neuschwanstein Castle. This card allowed me to travel for free between the Füssen train station bus stop and Hotel Müller. Please note that there's an additional charge for the bus or horse carriage from Hotel Müller to Neuschwanstein Castle itself. The hotel was clean and comfortable, making for a pleasant stay. Amenities provided include bath towels, face towels, hand soap, and body wash. However, other items like toothbrushes are not included, so I recommend bringing your own."

"Top accommodatie, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Fijne spa en beleving. En dat alles in een geweldige omgeving met uitzicht, vanaf het terras (restaurant), zwembad, tuin en een deel van de kamers op "Schloss Neuschwanstein". Wanneer je wandelen fijn vind, is praktisch alles lopend te bereiken. Culinair is het een ervaring op zich. Het begint al met het ontbijt. De keuze is reuze en alles is vers. Van de lunch hebben wij geen gebruik gemaakt ivm veel ondernemen. Het diner is werkelijk Michelin ster waardig. Geen dag is hetzelfde By-the-way parkeren is top op een prive parkeerplaats, ook belangrijk. In 1 woord geweldig"

"Dit is een restaurant en hotel in één. Het restaurant bevindt zich op de begane grond en de kamers zijn boven. Er zijn gratis parkeerplaatsen, maar niet veel (maar ik weet niet of de parkeerplaatsen aan de overkant van de straat dat ook zijn). Het principe 'wie het eerst komt, wie het eerst maalt' geldt. Er is een goede supermarkt op ongeveer 100 meter afstand. Het ligt heel dicht bij de bezienswaardigheid van kasteel Neuschwanstein, slechts zo'n drie of vier kilometer. De locatie is nog steeds erg goed. Er is geen lift, de kamer is relatief schoon en de badkamer is ruim genoeg. Als ik me goed herinner, zou er geen airconditioning moeten zijn, maar het was koud toen wij er waren, dus we hadden geen airconditioning nodig."

"Een heerlijk verblijf gehad. We zaten in de eco lodge met veel privacy. Wellicht iets teveel op het lage terras ivm de bossages 😅. Met iets lagere bossages kun je mooi over het meer kijken. Het ontbijt was héérlijk! We konden fijn op het terras ontbijten met uitzicht over het meer. Er is een privé tuin met heerlijke ligbedden. En je loopt zo het meer in. Veel te doen in de omgeving qua wandelen, fietsen, de kastelen uiteraard en stadjes. Wij zijn ook naar München geweest."

"In August 2025, we stayed for three nights at this hotel with our family. In total, we had booked three rooms for ten people, including an eight-year-old girl with a gluten allergy. Due to an unexpected traffic jam, we arrived later than planned. Check-in went smoothly, and the restaurant chef was very helpful. He assured us that a gluten allergy would not be a problem and that we could simply mention it to the breakfast staff in the morning. However, when we did so at breakfast, the conversation was less straightforward. We were asked why this information had not been provided earlier. I had, in fact, already done so: a few days in advance, I had completed a questionnaire in which I clearly stated the gluten allergy. The chef was aware of it. I had also tried to notify the hotel by phone, but there was no answer, even though the website states that they are contactable until 10:00 p.m. In the end, I was reluctantly told to wait ten minutes. We found the overall service to be rather unfriendly, which was disappointing. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were also informed that we needed to place our full order by 8:00 p.m., otherwise no food would be served. We complied, but by 9:00 p.m. everything was already closed. Afterwards, there was only one café/restaurant in the village open until 10:00 p.m., after which everywhere shut. This seems to be typical for Hopfen am See: after 10:00 p.m., there is very little to do or drink anywhere. For some travellers, this might be a drawback, especially for those who enjoy relaxing outdoors in the cooler air after sunset. Despite the beautiful nature, stunning views, and idyllic lakeside location, I would personally not choose this destination again. The hotel is charming but somewhat dated and does not have the needed air conditioning. On a positive note, there was always a solution for parking the car, even when the street was full (paying parking on the street). All in all, I had hoped for a more positive experience, but this review reflects honestly how we experienced our stay."
