Hotels met ontbijt in Kandy

We loved this hotel to the point we would return to Kandy to stay here again! The staff were all friendly, helpful and professional, the hotel and rooms were all clean and well maintained and the food at both dinner and breakfast was delicous. Overall we loved out stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. *we also bought some jewelry from the shop in the hotel which was good too.

The Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

Het is moeilijk in één woord te omschrijven! Ik heb destijds voor dit hotel gekozen omdat er werd gezegd dat het een 5-sterrenhotel was met het mooiste landschap. Later zag ik op internet dat het een 4-sterrenhotel was meest. Vervolgens zal ik er dieper op ingaan: 1. Het beheer van hotelreserveringen is chaotisch. Bij het boeken heb ik aangegeven dat ik 2 bedden wilde in plaats van een groot bed. Ik was al moe na de lange reis toen ik 's avonds aankwam, dus toen ik de kamer opende, had ik nog steeds een groot bed. Ik communiceerde met de receptie en vroeg om de kamer te veranderen. Ik kreeg te horen dat de reservering vol was en dat ik de kamer niet kon veranderen. Ik moest iemand sturen om het bed te verwijderen. Nadat we 20 minuten op niemand hadden gewacht, gingen we naar de receptie om ruzie te maken, en het personeel bij de receptie werd gestuurd om ons naar de kamer te begeleiden (een zinloze zet, ze veranderden niet van kamer en hielpen ons ook niet met het uitpakken van het bed, dus teruglopen en verder bij ons was het verhogen van het aantal stappen) ah?) 2. De zweterige mannelijke ober die te laat kwam, probeerde de matras te verwijderen en stapte op de lakens. Zoals blijkt uit de foto, was ik te moe om ruzie te maken, dus liet ik ook een bericht achter voor de klantenservice van Ctrip. De kamer is ook klein en de faciliteiten zijn oud, dus het is echt geen 5 sterren. 3. Xiaoqiang wordt af en toe buiten het restaurant gezien. Het buffet ziet er uitgebreid uit, maar is eigenlijk niet zo smakelijk en leuk als de vorige stop in Bangladesh. Toen ik terugkwam en op de Courtyard in Colombo verbleef, besefte ik dat deze keuken dat wel was niet de beste. Het voordeel is dat de hotelomgeving echt prachtig is, het uitzicht op de bergen ongeëvenaard is en er af en toe apen langs het balkon passeren. Conclusie: Er wordt gehoopt dat het hotel zijn management zal versterken, en dat Ctrip zijn leveranciersbeoordeling en sterrenwaardering zal versterken.

Very pretty and nice resort with mountain view. Friendly staffs and super super nice breakfast. However, it is too fat away from Kandy city center, you have to pay 1500+ rp for each ride, and most tuk tuk drivers don't prefer to go to this place. The google map shows wrong way and the team knew about this, but informed us just on the day of arrival, making this journey even harder.

斯里蘭卡酒店性價比普遍較低，名氣比較響的遺產系列酒店大多設施陳舊。相比較而言，Golden Crown 算是比較新，設施也還算齊全的酒店。地理位置不錯，大堂裝修很有特點。入住時恰逢情人節，床上還佈置了紅氣球，很温馨。

De sfeer op de eerste verdieping is erg goed, het ontbijtbuffet en diner zijn oké, maar de biefstuk is een beetje oud en er zijn veel soorten thee ☕️, maar de kamer is nog steeds een beetje klein! Ik had gewoon niet verwacht dat de kamer Chinese stopcontacten zou hebben, het zou van tevoren speciaal ontworpen moeten zijn voor mensen uit verschillende landen

Een heel goed hotel. Gelegen midden in het centrum, dicht bij alle bezienswaardigheden en winkels met lokale producten en souvenirs. Het personeel was vriendelijk. De kamer was schoon en comfortabel. We hadden een groot balkon. Ik kan het zeker aanbevelen!

A Hidden Gem – Perfect Honeymoon or Quiet Getaway This place is truly a hidden gem. It was the perfect spot for a honeymoon couple or anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet getaway. Travel tip: From Colombo, you can catch a direct bus to Nuwalapitiya. We didn’t know this and went via Kandy, which made the journey longer than necessary. If we had known, we would have taken the direct bus—it’s much easier. Ps:The bus ride is phenomenal—very beautiful views along the way and very cheap. The property is located on a hill and is naturally beautiful, surrounded by trees and birds whose songs make the atmosphere even more serene. It does get a bit cold at night, but it was the perfect kind of chilly—cozy and refreshing. Our room had an amazing view, making it even more special. The stay itself was perfect for our honeymoon: very cozy, comfortable, and clean. The staff were amazing, especially one gentleman at the restaurant (I didn’t catch his name, but I want to mention him). He went above and beyond to help us and was incredibly sweet and warm-hearted—it really made our stay special. A small note: we noticed the pool looked a bit dirty, which some other reviews also mentioned. However, it was clarified in the pool area that they use natural spring water without chemicals, so this is expected and actually a great eco-friendly approach. But This hotel needs some love because this is a very nice place. Another small note: there were some insects, like cockroaches, but that’s expected when staying on a hill in the middle of nature surrounded by trees. Overall, this was a truly wonderful experience and a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended!!

Check-in is too troublesome! After arriving at the hotel, I will automatically provide passports and orders to the elderly in the store. Look left and right. Call me to wait for 30 minutes. I didn’t see him. I saw him go to dinner and asked him if he could stay. Is there any problem? He said wait and sit in the lobby and watch A4 paper without talking. I don’t know if he thinks about it. What is it that I don’t check in and finally find his subordinates to agree to stay. It takes 2 hours. It’s really hard. Is it so difficult to stay? The hotel does not have an elevator. It is very inconvenient.

The owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely. Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source. The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue. Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat. The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross). The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up. The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good. Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location. Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!
