Hotels met bar in Coron

I went on a 13-day trip around Palawan and Coron was my first stop from Cebu. In Coron, I stayed in Dayon Hostel. I was alone for the duration of my three-night stay in the six-bed female dorm. You can choose to lock the door at night for security. I made sure that I turned off the AC every time I went out. The restrooms are clean especially the toilets although the shower rooms need to be upgraded as some showerheads do not function that well. It will also be nice if they do a thorough cleaning of the shower rooms and the sinks as they looked dirty and unkempt. There is a restaurant on the rooftop but the options are limited. If you exit through the back, it leads you the main road where you will find a wonderful cafe that serves good sausage meals. There are also several local options available if you want affordable options. The price I paid was worth the quality of the stay. The hostel is known by tour operators and guides and so it was not a challenge when it was time for pick-up and drop off. I loved the staff especially when I had to leave early in the morning to head to the port for my trip to El Nido. They arranged my transportation and made sure that I left the hostel on time. Will I go back? Maybe not and it's not because I don't like it. It's just that I felt that my next stay should be in a private room for another worthwhile experience in Coron. But for those solo travelers on a budget, Dayon Hostel is your best bet in Coron in as far as affordable sleeping option is concerned.

Een groen, aangenaam hotel met veel trappen. Kakkerlakken kropen onze kamer binnen (omdat het de bovenste verdieping is en er scheuren in het plafond van de badkamer zitten, hebben we ze zelf afgeplakt 😃 en ons met dichloorvos achtergelaten). Het personeel loste het probleem snel op, kwam de insecten behandelen en verwijderde vervolgens de resten 😃), maar over het algemeen is het niet erg prettig. Je kunt naar het 'centrum' lopen of een tuktuk nemen. Het ontbijt is à la carte, maar je kunt meer of minder van iets vragen. Over het algemeen was het comfortabel. De kamer was klein, een beetje donker en de airconditioning maakte lawaai. Het had een rustieke sfeer, net als de rest van het eiland.

Ik was helemaal weg van dit hotel. Eigenlijk zijn de meeste hotels op de Palawan-eilanden best goed, maar dit was echt uitzonderlijk. Het ontbijt was uitstekend, misschien wel beter dan de meeste restaurants in de stad 😅. De locatie is ook gunstig; het is niet ver van het stadscentrum. Elke kamer heeft twee airconditioners en ze boden zelfs muggenwerende bodylotion aan. Een echte aanrader! 👍

We had a great experience during our 4-day stay in Coron Soleil Express Hotel. All the staff were courteous, respectful and accommodating. The room was clean and the aircon functions well. The swimming pool is clean and did not feel too much chlorine in the water. As an overall rating, it was excellent. Will come back again in the hotel with families and friends.

Our stay at the hotel was a mix of positive and disappointing experiences. The family room was quite small, and unfortunately, there were several insects that appeared to bite us, possibly mosquitoes. The hotel also does not have an elevator, which can be inconvenient, especially for guests carrying heavy luggage, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. There are quite a lot of stairs—not only going up to the lobby and the rooms, but also to the rooftop bar and restaurant located on the 6th floor. The cleanliness of the common areas also needs improvement. The stairs leading to the lobby were not very clean, and there was even dog poop in the area during our stay. On the positive side, the staff were nice and accommodating. The service was good whenever we needed assistance. I also appreciated having a water dispenser with both hot and cold water available on every floor. The location is very convenient, as the hotel is close to the tour assembly area and surrounded by coffee shops, cafés, and restaurants. Overall, while the location and staff were good, I would not recommend this hotel for guests with heavy luggage, senior citizens, or PWDs because of the many stairs. The hotel would also benefit from improvements in cleanliness and pest control.

Our stay at this hotel was amazing! After a long journey, we were picked up at the airport by a driver who already had our names, making the arrival process smooth and easy. We arrived very early, but the staff was very accommodating and allowed us to use the on-site facilities while we waited for check-in. Taking a dip in the pool after a long travel day was the perfect way to relax. The breakfast was good, and the staff also helped us arrange a scooter rental, which was very convenient. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again. A well-deserved 5/5!

Uitstekende ligging van het hotel, groen, schoon, gezellig, heerlijk zwembad, prachtig ontwerp van de lobby en het restaurant, elke avond leuke livemuziek, zangers die lounge- en bluesmuziek zingen, erg goed. Ook is er elke dag een vuurshow in het hotel, een beetje eentonig... De schoonmaak van de kamers is uitstekend, elke dag schone handdoeken, het bed wordt om de twee dagen verschoond, er wordt water in de koelkast gezet, waarvoor we elke dag goede tips kregen! Helaas houdt hier het positieve op. De managers zijn onoplettend. We hebben ze meerdere malen gecontacteerd met dezelfde verzoeken, maar er werd met niets rekening gehouden. Elke ochtend doen de beveiligers om 6, 7, 8 uur 's ochtends hun ronde. Er loopt dan een man langs de kamer met een luid schreeuwende/fluitende/piepende/grommende radio. Ze zeiden meerdere keren: het helpt niet. Ze kunnen ook met een grote groep bij de deur van de kamer staan ​​en luid met elkaar praten. Ze kunnen ook om 7 uur 's ochtends de telefoon in de kamer pakken en lang onzin vertellen en dan zeggen: oeps, we hebben de verkeerde kamer. Uiteindelijk ging ik naar de receptie, nam afscheid, wachtte op een taxi, stapte in en vertrok. 5 minuten later belt mijn man me op. Hij is wakker geworden en zegt dat ik weg ben en hem vergeten ben - een circus!!! De hoteltransfer die mijn man om 8 uur zou ophalen, arriveerde pas om 9 uur, maar hij miste bijna zijn vlucht van 10:20 uur. Over het eten in het hotel wil ik nog even het volgende kwijt: we hadden honger. Bij het ontbijt aten we alleen noedels/rijst en slabladeren, fruit, al het andere was oneetbaar. Elke avond wordt het diner geserveerd in buffetvorm, maar de prijzen variëren per dag. Wij dachten dat de oudin lekkerder zou zijn, maar we hebben twee dagen in het hotel gegeten en zijn daarna naar restaurants in de stad gegaan. Ik heb echt genoten van het eten bij El Kuvo. Algemeen gesproken moet het hotelmanagement nog wel wat werk verzetten. Ik hoop dat u mijn opmerkingen ter harte neemt om de service aan uw gasten te verbeteren.

Overall, average hotel. I was disappointed and wouldn’t stay here again. Room: stayed 5 nights. The room has a mold smell upon entering that persisted even with the bathroom door closed. The toilet also flushed very slow and sometimes required 2 flushes. Room was spacious, and otherwise quite clean and comfortable. Quite dated and furniture had lots of dings/scratches which doesn’t really matter. Staff: I always try to be friendly to service workers because I know their work is hard. The staff I encountered seemed grossly disinterested. On the day of check in, I asked for some water (as I had to wait a few hours till check in), and was asked to pay 65 php for a bottle, but I witnessed another guest receive one for free. Not sure what happened. Also had some communication issues regarding laundry that I had done with the hotel. Perhaps the staff is overworked.. I didn’t experience the friendliness that other reviewers speak of. I do want to shout out Mou, the activities/tour coordinator! She was very friendly, and helpful in planning my activities. She helped address an issue I encountered with my tour very promptly and efficiently. Thank you Mou! Also thank you to the security guards who helped me call tricycles! I wouldn’t stay here again, nor would I recommend anyone to stay here. Suggestions: I think communication needs to be improved. If a staff member is busy, it is OK for them to let the guest know that it will be a moment. Would also recommend addressing the mold smell in room 320.

The hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to all the restaurants within 10-15 mins. The hotel itself is okay. The staffs are nice and the room is comfortable. The bathroom are great and shower has good water pressure. In terms on cleanliness, that could be improved. Our bedsheet and pillow cases have some stains but nothing too bad. The towel doesn’t smell so fresh but again, not a big issue. In general, an okay hotel to stay in coron, definitely convenient and comfortable. Our room and the rooftop have a nice view as well.
