"De locatie van het hotel is in Chaozong Street, slechts een onderdoorgang verwijderd van Guojin Street. Ik wilde niet in Guojin Street verblijven, dat is te lawaaierig. Het ligt ongeveer 500 meter van het metrostation Wuyi Square. Ik heb lang gezocht op Ctrip en Qunar voordat ik dit hotel vond. Tot mijn verrassing overtrof het echter alle verwachtingen. Binnen 100 meter kun je 'Tea Yanyuese' en diverse snacks kopen. Dit is een lokaal hotel uit Hunan, geen landelijke keten, maar de ontwerper heeft duidelijk veel talent: elk detail is zorgvuldig en inventief, met overal mooie uitzichten. Ik had mijn eigen waterkoker deze keer niet meegenomen en maakte me zorgen, maar bij het hotel ontdekte ik dat de deksel van hun waterkoker geopend kon worden, zodat ik hem grondig kon schoonmaken en gebruiken. Dit loste het probleem op van warm water drinken in de winter. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid, met lokale gerechten, dus het was eigenlijk niet nodig om buiten in de winkelstraat iets te kopen. Tot slot, de gids die het hotel me gaf, met aanbevolen restaurants, was zeer betrouwbaar. Ik ben niet naar de populaire 'influencer'-restaurants gegaan, maar naar de plekken waar de lokale bevolking komt, die zijn veel betrouwbaarder."

"Came here for a concert and the hotel's location is great, only about a 15-minute walk to the venue. The room was meticulously cleaned, the bed was clean and comfortable, and the soundproofing was good—despite facing the street, it wasn't noisy at all. Kian at the front desk was warm, attentive, and a huge help. Overall, it offers great value for money and provided a pleasant and relaxing stay. Highly recommended if you're coming for a concert!"

"Hoewel het een B&B is, zijn zowel de service als de accommodatie uitstekend! Het is echt een verborgen juweeltje. The hotel fully lived up to our expectations! The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking. The smart room controls were very convenient and easy to use. The hotel grounds are lovely, with scenic walking paths and swings that create a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was not extremely varied, but everything was delicious — be sure to try the shaomai! In the evenings, you can order local Chinese dishes prepared by the chef. The food is excellent, although many dishes are designed for sharing and the portions are quite large. There are also snacks available at the reception desk. The weather in the park can change quickly, but the hotel sells both raincoats and shoe covers for rainy days (surprisingly useful!). The hotel also provides a shuttle to the park entrance, which is only a short distance away. I would also like to give special thanks to the hotel staff for the airport transfers and for their invaluable assistance throughout our stay. They helped us plan our sightseeing itinerary, purchase tickets, and were incredibly responsive to any questions we had — whether about the room or even our travel plans during the day. Their support made our trip much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you so much ❤️ When planning the trip, I recommend allowing at least two full days for the park itself, plus another one or two days for Tianmen Mountain and the Glass Bridge. Keep in mind that these attractions are about an hour’s drive from the main park and the hotel. I would also highly recommend visiting the 72 Wonder Tower in Zhangjiajie City in the evening. The atmosphere there is incredible, with live performances, actors in costume, and beautiful light installations that make the whole place feel magical.

The environment is fantastic, with mountain views right outside the room. You can tell a lot of effort went into the landscaping—kudos to the owner. The B&B is an 8-minute drive from the East Gate, and the complimentary shuttle service makes getting around super convenient. The service was excellent too. The rooms were spotless, and they offer laundry and drying services. They also provide pick-up and drop-off at the train station (the vehicles are all very new!). The on-site restaurant serves delicious food with very fresh ingredients. There are quite a few international travelers staying here. It has a genuinely authentic Chinese style, beautifully designed, and is perfect for a relaxing vacation.

The standard room I booked was the largest I've ever stayed in at a Ji Hotel. It had a separate dressing area, a work area large enough for three people to sit in, a large TV, and was quiet, clean, and new – a very comfortable stay. It's only a 10-minute walk to the East Gate of Yuelu Mountain, perfect for those taking the route of entering from the South Gate and exiting from the East Gate. Exiting from the East Gate allows you to easily return to the hotel.

The hotel is right next to the Xiangjiang Middle Road Station on Metro Line 2, with Juzizhou just across the river (one stop away). Walking to Taiping Street, Pozishi, Chaozong Street, and Fengying Xili is very convenient. I booked a 5th-floor river-view room, but Xiao Liu at the front desk kindly upgraded me to the 28th floor, offering a fantastic, unobstructed view. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated. There are charging cables provided in the room, and the charging speed is much faster than the slow chargers you usually find in hotels. Breakfast at the restaurant has a decent variety of food, and the taste is quite good. The housekeeping staff in the hallway were very warm and welcoming. Areas for improvement: 1. There are three passenger elevators and one service elevator, but during the busy morning peak hours, a cleaner pushed a large cart of supplies into the passenger elevator. 2. There are very few two-seater tables in the restaurant; most are large four-seater tables or even round banquet tables. When it gets slightly crowded, you are forced to share a table with strangers, which is quite awkward. 3. The biggest issue is that the room is super noisy during the day—not the hotel's fault, as I suppose most riverside hotels are like this. I ”investigated” a long stretch of the riverfront ”Waitan” area, which was packed with powerful speakers and people belting out songs at the top of their lungs. Does Changsha actually consider this ear-splitting noise a scenic highlight?! Absolutely incomprehensible! Totally unacceptable!!! Fortunately, most of these people go back to bed at night, but on one night, someone was still practicing their vocals past midnight!

(Excuse the photos of the room - we were so excited to get settled in so I took photos after we had already laid on the bed and put our stuff down) This is going to be a long review because we had such a fantastic stay, but tl;dr, highly highly recommend this hotel. If you’re looking for great service and beautiful views, this is the place. From the very start, before even checking in, the Hidden Hills Villa team reached out and let us know that they would be arranging transportation for us from wherever we were coming from (high speed rail station, airport, etc). They also asked us to add them on WeChat for the 24 hour butler service (we asked for some necessities one night and they delivered it within a few minutes). They added us to a group chat with the chef, front desk for amenities, and the owners Joyce and Ethan themselves. Before we even got to the hotel, our breakfasts for the next day were ordered and our itinerary was made by Joyce (more on that). We felt bad because we were checking in late at around 11:30pm because we were running late from our previous excursions. But Joyce and Ethan were more than accommodating and still greeted us to go through everything. Their warm welcome was much appreciated after such a long day. Since we got there at night, we couldn’t see the views yet but the hotel itself was already spectacular. The room was very clean and has a nice relaxing concept. The room was stocked with tea (grown in the mountains of Zhangjiajie), water and other beverages, and snacks, all of which are restocked everyday. The bed felt great, even for my mom who is very picky with her mattresses. They also have a regular pillow and a memory foam pillow, variety for all kinds of sleepers which I love. We booked 2 rooms and both were great. I tend to be picky with bathrooms and this one was very clean and the showers had great pressure and the soaps were stocked. On to the breakfast. We tried the western breakfast the first day and the Chinese breakfast the next day. We enjoyed both - fresh ingredients and great taste. The chef was also very kind and efficient - we gave them the time we wanted breakfast and he had them ready immediately upon entering the room. We unfortunately sat next to some guests who were slightly rude to the chef but he handled it gracefully and moved on. They also offer lunch and dinner options for purchase but our schedule didn’t allow us to try it out, but they have western and Chinese options that looked good. We loved that this place is far enough from everything that you still have that secluded feel but close enough to the city that rides there only took a few minutes. From the hotel, you have direct views of the Avatar mountains and we were always in awe by how beautiful they looked. Joyce is an English speaking tour guide so she was very knowledgeable with everything. She sent me a very detailed itinerary based on our preferences - we followed it exactly and saw everything we wanted to see in Zhangjiajie. She also educated us a lot on the local culture and shared tea and wine with us. She was so welcoming and a great host! Ethan was also incredibly kind and made sure we had our transportation in order when leaving the hotel. Joyce and Ethan have a wonderful concept here at Hidden Hills Villa, and we definitely will be back. The only thing we didn’t get to do was the calligraphy that they offer because we didn’t have the time. But we got a peek at the room and it looks very authentic and fun!

View is as good as the photos. You get exactly what you see. However, I found the location of the hotel to be extremely inconvenient and would urge fellow travelers to avoid this hotel unless you are fully aware of this risk. First, the hotel is located in a very isolated location on a hill with steep curved turns making it very difficult for drivers. My DiDi drivers have all expressed their concern over the safety of the hill everytime I’ve had a ride home. Additionally, there are almost no food options and no convenience stores nearby. ******* will not be able to save you either. As the hotel is also located above rice paddies, the damp surroundings attract a lot of bugs including mosquitoes, beetles, and flies. Be wary of this, and bring a skin vape! The room itself is an oasis in the midst of it all though!

I had a great stay at the Yujie Hotel during my visit to Zhangjiajie. The hotel has a clean and grand ambiance, with a bright and tidy lobby. The corridors and common areas are tastefully decorated, making me feel very relaxed. The location is also a big plus, not far from the scenic area and major attractions in the city, making travel convenient. It's also easy to find places to eat and buy local specialties nearby, and accessible whether you're taking a taxi or driving. The room facilities are relatively new, with well-functioning air conditioning, hot water, TV, and Wi-Fi. The bedding was just right in terms of firmness, allowing for a very comfortable sleep. Breakfast is worth commending; there was a rich variety of dishes, including hot food, pastries, fruits, porridge, noodles, and more, all tasting good. Eating a full breakfast before heading up the mountain gave me plenty of energy. The front desk and service staff were enthusiastic and efficient, responding quickly to any issues. The only thing I felt could be improved was the cleanliness details. Overall, it's excellent value for money. I would consider staying here again on my next trip to Zhangjiajie and would recommend it to friends planning to visit.

Originally booked a twin room, but upon arrival, I was upgraded to a suite. I was totally blown away—I've never stayed in such a huge room before! (Wondering if I can still get a free upgrade next time haha 😁) Cleanliness and comfort were both top-notch. I want to especially highlight the service. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from the scenic area (about 2 km one way to the South Gate/Biaozhimen), one round trip per day. Such a thoughtful touch! It made my wife exclaim, ”The competition in the hospitality industry is fierce these days!” Breakfast was decent, and the view from the 4th-floor outdoor area is lovely (Photo 1). Plenty of parking spaces downstairs, including slow chargers (EV-friendly), and fast chargers nearby as well. The front desk helped us book attraction tickets and show tickets, and even mapped out a great sightseeing route for a first-time visitor like me. Kudos to the young staff at the front desk! Both the day and night shifts were wonderful. Oh, and the cleaning lady greeted us with a cheerful ”Good morning” every day. You can really tell the staff are well-trained and genuinely professional! PS: I originally booked 2 days, but also used my wife's account to book an extra day just in case. Turns out we needed it, and the hotel let us keep the same room for the extension 😄. Total score! Haha. If I bring my mom here next time, your hotel will definitely be my top choice!

The best hotel we had on a 30 days trip through China starting in Chongquing to Shenzhen. This was THE ONLY staff speaking English fluently. Especially the super friendly girl doing the reception. She is the soul of this hotel. She managed everything people needed and was always smiling and really cute. The room are huge, the bathroom as well. It’s excellent clean and super cozy. They offer 2 washing machines, 2 tumble dryers and laundry detergent for free 👏👏 great. Best breakfast we ever had in China for both Chinese and foreign guest. Definitely world class premises- the only one in 30 days roadtrip. Free parking spaces and a very well equipped supermarket right in from the reception 👌 only negative thing is the woman sitting right in front of the hotel, screaming 10 times „hello“ at the guest and trying to sell her raw pumpkins. Not once, not twice- but everytime a guest shows up. I mean-what should a hotel guest do with a raw pumpkin??? I won’t start a barbecue in my room 🤦🏼♀️ she is extremely stupid and extremely annoying. If the hotel could manage to remove her from that place, that would be nothing negative to mention. Thank you guys for making our stay really remarkable. 🙏🏻❤️
