"The location of the hotel is very convenient - 10 min walk away from the convention centre. The train station and bus station is nearby and the walk to the nearby turbocat makes the hotel in a prime location for transport. The front desk was efficient and pleasant. Although I check in early and the rooms were not ready, they were nice to allow us to use the facilites on the 21st floor to relax and shower. Also on the 21st floor is the rooftop bar which has the best views of South bank and the skyline.
The Vista King Suite was a huge room with large bathroom sitting area and the bed was super comfortable. It took me awhile to find the door, which was hidden behind a glass door enclosure to block out noise. Housekeeping was efficient and meticulous. Breakfast was either in the cafe on G/F or the 21st floor. Servings were hearty and filling from the a la carte menu."

"The location is superb. It located right at the CBD. Very easy to get around. The service was fast especially the check in process. We arrived early and got check in very fast. We complain about the cleanliness and staff was attentive upon the request we made. The staff were very nice.We got a free upgrade from 13th floor to 21st floor. The downside is that the bedsheet and pillowcase change was very slow and we waited until 11 pm even though we made request before 4 pm. The free buffet is also very average."

"The service was excellent. Check-in was at 3pm, but we managed to get into the room at 2pm. The concierge carried the bags directly to our rooms while we were out having lunch and waiting to check in. The bed is incredibly comfortable. My only complaint would be the pillow and the need for more electrical points, especially at the bedside table, so we can charge and check our phones. The current outlets are too low and hidden behind furniture.
Location is superb.."

"We stayed in an executive room on the eighth (of nine) floors in mid-July.Â
The executive lounge was generally poorly stocked and food and drinks often unavailable with no staff around for over a couple of hours at a time. We were here for seven nights, so have a reasonably good time frame to judge.Â
The swimming pool is surprisingly frigid in July, actually unpleasantly cold when there was any kind of breeze or cloud cover.Â
The bathroom shower drainage was not ideal: every short shower resulted in puddles on the bathroom floor; long showers meant the whole floor was covered in standing water.Â
Every time the neighbors used the spa or coffee machine, the noises were very loudly transmitted into our room.Â
The balcony was very nice and the wicker furniture comfortable."

"Such a classic old hotel, with gorgeous views and spacious rooms and bathrooms. The location is convenient, with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and it is right next to the river and gardens.
The only negative was though we had a great check in experience, it was very inconsistent across our group. Despite 2pm check-in, one couple still didnât have a room at 3.15pm.
Iâd stay again to check out the facilities as we didnât have time on this occasion."

"Stayed at the end of trip to the Sunshine Coast. The hotel is situated in a great area of Brisbane but overall service wasnât the best.
We ate the Greek restaurant first night but couldnât hear each other at dinner due to the construction noise outside. Hotel staff didnât seem to care about it. Working in the industry I know the hotel was informed of this activity. But guests were not informed. I complained but the mangager was too busy to see me at reception. If I had known about the construction I would have made the reservation. Pool was overcrowded every day. Acoustics between room and corridor and terrace very poor. When someone operates the blinds you can hear and when they are on the phone in the terrace you can hear the calls. If you use the glassware or cups. You have to call reception to have them replaced otherwise when the room is cleaned they just take them away. The location is good though with good choices for other F&B venues so you donât have to eat at the hotel!"

GGuest UserI was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in directly at 9 AM, which was a great start to my stay. The staff even upgraded us to a sea-view room! So happy! The toiletries, like the body wash, were all from Origins and smelled lovely. The hotel is super modern, but the only downside is that the room lacked a main light and a desk. I wanted to get a little work done at night, but all I had was the faint glow from my screen.

GGuest UserWe had an incredible stay at Meriton Suites Surfers Paradise. We checked in early at 1pm, the check in was seamless. Clean and spacious room, beautiful sea view from our room made us wonderful experience. Location was perfect. We got slippers in 5 minutes after i requested that was quick.

We recently stayed at the Brisbane Marriott  for my daughters 21st and were genuinely impressed by how lovely the hotel is and how amazing the staff were. The warm, welcoming service started from the moment we arrived at valet parking and continued throughout our stay. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, accommodating, and did their best to assist us.
The rooms themselves were nice and comfortable, although we did notice some wear and tear, particularly with the bathroom and bedroom cabinetry which was scratched and broken. The beds also felt quite small for two adults and made sleeping a little squishy.
Our biggest concern, however, was the air-conditioning. When we first walked into the room it was set at 18 degrees, which we thought would be perfectâespecially with four girls getting ready, expecting a cool room so our makeup wouldnât melt. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. The room felt like a hot box from the start. The staff were fantastic and came to check and reset the system twice, but by the time we returned at 1am, it was still extremely hot. It was uncomfortable enough that one of our group decided to go home because she couldnât sleep in the heat. At that hour, there was also no one at the front desk to seek further assistance from.
We did mention this at checkout, as we genuinely expected that a well-known, reputable hotel like the Marriott would not have such an issue with air-conditioning. It was disappointing, as everything elseâfrom the service to the overall atmosphereâwas lovely.
Massive shout out to the male staff member who collected our bags both at arrival and departure (sorry wasnât able to recall you name) you are a great asset to the hotel!!
With improvement to the room cooling, this would have been a fantastic stay. The staff truly are the highlight of the hotel.

XXiaomi2323Every time I visit the Gold Coast, I stay at the Marriott, and the breakfast is always great.
However, the caps on the shampoo and other toiletries can be easily opened, which raises some safety concerns.
After 6 PM, there are no staff or services at the pool, and it's not lit. For children with UV allergies who wish to swim in the evening, it's not possible. December is summer in Australia, so it gets dark late. I hope the hotel considers extending the pool's closing time, especially since guests are here for a holiday. Thank you.

GGuest UserI booked an apartment, but the service was surprisingly good. I was a bit worried based on previous reviews that apartment service might not be as great. Due to heavy rain and a flight delay in Melbourne, I didn't check in until almost midnight. I asked about adding breakfast, and the lady at check-in immediately registered me for a Langham membership, saying I could get 50% off breakfast using that membership number. I wasn't happy with the view from the first room. Later, a very beautiful Asian lady at the front desk had a colleague show me a new room, and I only switched once I was sure about it. Super awesome!

GGuest UserOriginally booked a twin double room for me, my wife and our granddaughter as I was working in Brisbane and we wanted a change of scenery for my wife and granddaughter. Unfortunately my granddaughter became ill so my wife and granddaughter stayed at home. When I checked in I advised the hotel that only I would be staying for the two nights. Thinking Id help out the hotel room availability I said Id be happy to downsize, the receptionist asked if Id be ok in an Accessible Room which I accepted. I awoke at 2am thinking it was daytime as the room was lit up. Looked at the time and saw it was 2am then realised there was a large gap (30-40mm)under the door and the corridor lights were illuminating the room. After a bad nightâs sleep I complained to reception who sent up a maintenance person who advised the door had to be like this to clear the sloping floor to the bathroom for wheelchair access. Poor design not an excuse. I asked if I could have my original room and was told Iâd be charged for an upgrade. Told them Iâd done them the favour originally so reception said theyd chat to management and get back to me. I was working late shifts and heard nothing back so had to try to sleep in the room again, packing pillows against the door base but light still made it in. There was also stains on the carpet, curtains also let street light in and when doors were closed in other rooms they clanged shut reminding me of a visit to Alcatraz! Little sleep for the second night. I feel sorry for anyone sleeping in that room in the future

GGuest UserMy Worst Experience at a W Hotel to Date
I have stayed at various W properties, but my recent one-night stay at W Brisbane was easily my most disappointing experience with the brand. For a hotel that prides itself on design and luxury, the functional execution of the room was severely lacking.
There were several significant issues that made for a very uncomfortable night:
Poor Room Design: The air conditioning is positioned in a way that it blew directly onto my face all night. It was impossible to deflect, and I had to sleep on the other end of the bed. Then I had another issue below.
Disruptive Noise: The in-room refrigerator was close the the bed and making distracting noises throughout the night that made it difficult to sleep.
Between the mechanical noise and the poorly placed AC, I barely got any rest.
Maintenance & Cleanliness: after I woke up in the morning, I was shocked to find a visible hole in the bed sheets. This is not the level of quality control one expects from a five-star establishment. And the bath tub has visible torn and wears. Also the motel level toothbrush.
Service: there was no staff at the door helped me and my 70 yo mom with our luggages. I hvae to acknowledge that we arrived quite late but I did expect quality service from a lux hotel. And also no free upgrade offered like my stays with other W.
Honestly, I am just glad my stay was only for one night. I expected much better from the W brand and won't be rushing back to this particular location.
