"I found this hotel by chance after learning that the one where I was originally wanting to book was sold out for my dates. I guess it was luck, because this place is so beautiful and calming. The pictures do not lie! I booked one of their top floor rooms, but I didn't realize that I would be navigating a short but steep step of winding stairs to access it. (Elevators are between the 1st and 2nd floor guest rooms only.) Even as a relatively able person, I still took my time going up and down the steps. The room itself is nothing short of amazing; in addition to the outdoor private tub on the patio, there's also a tea ”alcove,” and also a king-sized bed in a sparsely- but chicly furnished main room. It's a pity I stayed for only two days, and I didn't have the chance to explore their offerings of a sound bath, etc. The staff also brought up some kind of soup concoction on the first night, which was very kind! Breakfast is included, but guest have to go to the building across the path, and take the elevator to the 2nd floor. I tried only the Western breakfast; maybe the Chinese breakfast is more hearty. Tip #1: When ordering a DiDi or taxi, drop your pin at the hotel's precise location, and not just at the security check at the main entrance. From reading other reviews, I thought that cars not belonging to guest couldn't get in, so I ended up walking with heavy luggage to get to the entrance of the hotel. Fortunately, when I left, I was able to get the DiDi to the hotel parking lot. Tip #2: Staff possess varying degrees of English levels, but I'd still recommend this place if (like me) you don't speak any Chinese. Make sure to add WeChat and add the hotel's account as a friend; this is the fastest way to contact them during your stay. Staff and I communicated via this method, as well as interpretation apps (Google Translate on my end). Tip #3: Humble Administrator's Garden is about a 20-25 mn walk south. The closest ”scenic area” is along the Grand Canal, which just over the wall north of the hotel. You'll likely need to take the bus (download Amap) and/or take a DiDi to get to different places."

Ik was enorm teleurgesteld in dit gerenommeerde vijfsterrenhotel vanaf het moment dat ik de kamer binnenstapte. "Pingjiang Mansion, een landhuis in Suzhou, was drie dagen lang erg comfortabel. "We liked the hotel's location, just a few minutes' drive from the train station. The hotel is located on the upper floors of an office building, so the rooms offer great views. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfast was plentiful. We only stayed for one night and the hotel met our expectations."

"We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel, the staff on reception is very helpful, we got upgrade to the lake view room, which was a nice surprise for us. The staff gave us tips for our trip and introduced the hotel very throughly and even gave a map (because the hotel is huge and has a lot of things to do and explore). The room is spacious and the view is just amazing, it had a small balcony to overlook the lake. Breakfast is totally worth it, all staff in the restaurant is very friendly and very caring about us, providing best service ever. Really thankful for them! The outdoor pool has stunning view, but be prepared to see a lot of kids and the pool itself is not as big, need to come early to get a lounge chair. Though I heard that they are planning to build another pool in future. The outdoor pool has nice lights in evening, would recommend to check it out in evening. The guy working on the towel rack is really sweet, first time we came over he helped a lot. Also the hotel staff brings some small treats/ snacks while you are enjoying pool - some fruits, ice cream and water. Indoor pool is spacious and clean, beautifully designed. It also has a heated pool with massage options. Lounge bar: tasty food, good and caring service, wonderful singer (real professional !). Especially want to thank the manager of rooms Cherry for the service and support, she is just great 👏🏼 lovely lady with high quality service 👍🏼"

"I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is located right in the city center, making it very convenient to get around. There is a shopping mall directly connected to the hotel, so finding food and dining options was very easy. The hotel is very family-friendly. We stayed on the top floor, and the view was absolutely amazing — we could see both the sea and the mountains. Our child loved it so much. However, for guests who are afraid of heights like my husband, this might not be the best choice, as it is probably the tallest building in the city. Although the hotel looks like it has been open for many years from the outside, the interior still feels modern, clean, and well maintained. The rooms are comfortable, and the facilities are very convenient. Breakfast offered a good variety of international options. Overall, we had a great experience and were very impressed with our stay."
