3-Starhotels in Gangwon State, South Korea

The place is good, 7 minutes to ski and has a supermarket and eatery place nearby. Honestly the room is nice, with cooking facilities but the owner was not friendly at all. The toilet was stuck and leak they came with only the plunger and ask us settle ourself. Is winter and we came with kids, the kids built a snowman and they destroyed the snowman after we went for ski trip. We are a group of 10 and we wanted to cook our dinner. There is a small hut with table and chair and BBQ facilities, we ask to BBQ facilities (We are willing to pay, 10,000 won as stated) but she said is winter so we can’t use the BBQ pit, ended up we use the stove to cook up the meat. The husband and wife came in to the huts and told us we can’t do BBQ but we explained to her we just cook the meat and we didn’t do any BBQ. We left the place with cleaner than we came in. I have to WhatsApp her and show her the place is cleaned. The warn us that we must left the place by 1am but in fact all of us finished eh 9.30pm every day since we are tired from Ski. During the last day, they came to us and I was thinking they come and say goodbye but they just make sure we throw every single piece of rubbish outside the house. My husband wear shoe and just step to take our luggage and the owner insist us to take out the shoe before we went in to the house. Although we have explained, we just step in and take the luggage and go, he insisted us to take out the shoes. I have been travelling all around the world and we do understand every cultural is different but as the operator of tourist industry, the owner has to be service minded. If you can’t accept any international travellers then please do not list your place in any platform or put up a notice that international tourist is not permitted to stay there and we won’t book accordingly. Is such a shame to see this happened to us after our 5th trip to Korea and our 3rd trip to Pyeongchang for ski.

The location and facilities were so clean and great. My only minor complaints are that the breakfast selection isn't very extensive, and communication was difficult when I called the staff after booking. I tried to pay the difference to upgrade my room, but they said it wasn't possible because bookings could overlap across different sales channels, even though rooms were available (?!). It was a family trip, but one person ended up staying elsewhere. ㅠ

My room was spacious enough to relax in after a long day, and it was equipped with all the essentials I needed for a convenient stay. The bed was especially comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the room remained quiet throughout the night, which made it easy to rest well. The staff also made a strong positive impression. Every team member I encountered was polite, friendly, and ready to help with any questions or requests. Check-in was quick and efficient, and check-out was just as smooth, which made the entire experience feel effortless. It is always nice when a hotel combines good service with a stress-free process. Another highlight was the location. The hotel is conveniently situated near restaurants, convenience stores, and several local points of interest, making it easy to get around without much trouble. Whether I was heading out for a meal or returning after sightseeing, the location worked very well as a base for my trip. Overall, Hotel Brown Dot Cheorwon Dong offers excellent value for money. It provides clean accommodations, comfortable rooms, and dependable service in a convenient setting. I would recommend it to both business and leisure travelers who want a peaceful, practical, and enjoyable place to stay. I especially appreciated the reliable Wi-Fi, the easy parking, and the sense of security throughout the property. Small details like these made the stay even more comfortable and convenient, and they added to the overall impression that this hotel is thoughtfully managed and consistently guest focused throughout.

Overall, good cost to quality if you visit with multiple guests and split the cost. There is a shuttle operating reasonably frequent times to the casino and ski houses. Basic amenities provided.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood of Gangneung, not close to the main centers of interest of many tourists. The hotel itself is quite new and modern and clean. The check-in is not open until 4pm, however you can self check-in earlier on a kiosk for an additional cost. I really appreciated the possibility to do a laundry for free, in my case it was needed. The bathroom is equipped with smart toilet which is nice. A complete Korean breakfast is offered in the morning. Around the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and cafes

Great service where you can check in and check out without meeting people. there is kiosk at the lobby and it has korean english and chinese too. beach is really close, and other shops like cafes (literal cafe. not like 백다방 or 메가커피only. well they do have those two shops too), convenience stores, and photobooth (포토이즘, 인생네컷). our 3 days and 2 nights were comfortable and nice. room is smaller than expected but was fine for 3 women. got TV, microwave and water boiler too. room cleaner change the towel and give water which not usual in 가성비 호텔 in korea cz they(from my experience going to 6 hotels in korea) just dont give unless you ask. service point there. overall was nice!

Excellent service, we enjoyed our time there. Everything was perfect and we have no regrets. The beds were comfortable, the room suite was exactly as it appeared on pictures.

The best place I've ever stayed in! Everything was thought out to the smallest detail, comfortable and modern, very clean, cozy, and beautiful! The hostess is amazing, attentive and kind. The room is quite large and spacious, it is not stuffy, but in addition, it is possible to turn on the air conditioner or open the doors to the terrace without fear of mosquitoes flying in, because there are nets installed. Stuffiness in the room is a critical problem for me. And here it is perfectly solved. And the mattress and duvet are absolutely incredible. I don't know what kind of technology it is, but it was perfect: not too soft and not too hard, everything seemed to adapt to you, and in the morning you didn't want to get out of bed. I slept absolutely amazingly here. And what a wonderful bathroom, and the steam closet... I could go on and on listing the advantages of this place. Usually, when you come to another country, you only need to sleep in your room; you don't need much more. But here, we just wanted to be in the room! Because it's so nice and wonderful, because it's calm and peaceful. Unfortunately, our time in the city was limited; there was so much to see and do, but we returned to the hotel every evening with joy. It was an indescribable experience; we are absolutely delighted! I highly recommend it! And I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

This is hands down the best value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed at. The hotel is new, clean, and the service is excellent. Every little detail is designed with the guest in mind – from free laundry to complimentary snacks (instant noodles, bread, coffee, milk, kimchi, etc.). The room features a massive TV and a 32-inch computer setup. They also offer luggage storage, and the staff are absolutely top-notch. It's super close to the train station, which was incredibly convenient for catching the 3-hour sightseeing taxi. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Gangneung; it was an amazing experience!

Super nice sea view , room look exactly like the photo . Room with simple cooking equipment that u can cook ramen or little snack . Dryer , towel all those basic things are provided. But 2 things u have to take notes , this homestay type of property doest not have reception or person incharge at the area , even during check in , so make sure u contact with trip.com to get the check in information before u reach there , or else if u can speak korean or u will need to at-least have a number that can call Korean number to contact property management when u arrive and tell them u need check in , i think simple English like “check in “ they can understand. If u don’t have any number that can call or did not contact trip earlier on to get the information, u will be there and wait and u can’t check in smoothly for sure . Secondly this location is far from the city area (like ktx/ bus express terminal and anmok beach ) this location is only near to sundubu gelato by foot about 20min. My suggestion is if u wanna stay here , prepare food and drink and stay whole day just in room to enjoy the view of sea and nice room if u did not driving . Basically for the view and nice room , I will come back again .
