Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient. It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking. Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

Good points: - Right in front of the Ohara-machi bus stop. - A-Coop (supermarket up to 1900) is within walking distance, making shopping convenient. There's a shared microwave in the inn, so you can buy food at the supermarket and eat it there. There's also a refrigerator in the room. - There's a large public bath and a sauna. - Shiratani Unsuikyo is a 30-minute bus ride away. - The hotel staff are friendly. Not-so-good points: - The noise from the plumbing in a nearby room was surprisingly loud, making it difficult to sleep. - The rental equipment is not well maintained. The equipment itself is old. While it seems to be an established inn and shows its age in many ways, I think the location is excellent. It might be good to leverage its age and perhaps even specialize in mountain-related features. However, the facilities need to be maintained.

The onsen was a real highlight, beautifully maintained and deeply relaxing, and the view from my room was absolutely spectacular. Although it was whale season while I was there, I did not manage to see any whales this time, but that simply gives me another reason to come back. If there is one small area for improvement, it would be the dining experience. While the food was perfectly fine, it felt rather ordinary compared with the overall quality and standard of the hotel. A more varied and distinctive selection, particularly at the buffet, would better match the hotel’s otherwise excellent experience. Overall, a truly lovely stay, and one I would happily recommend.

The scenery was amazing, and we were even able to go down to the beach. The sand was sparkling and soft, and we could even dip our feet in the sea and play. The view from the open-air bath was also fantastic, the gentle breeze felt wonderful, and we were able to see the first star of the night.

The location is great, right in front of the tram stop, and there are many good restaurants nearby. The public bath is also a nice touch for unwinding after a long day. I booked a twin room, and as expected for a Japanese business hotel, it was small. I had to open my suitcase near the entrance as there wasn't a separate luggage rack. On the second floor, there's a reception area where you can enjoy unlimited coffee and other drinks. While the amenities aren't extensive, they are well-stocked at the reception. There's also a gym, and the breakfast restaurant offers a fantastic view, especially for catching the sunrise over Sakurajima in the morning.

You can enter directly from the station, and there's a shopping mall downstairs with a wide variety of brands and dining options, which is incredibly convenient. **Facilities:** The hotel is fully equipped with everything you need, including a refrigerator, air purifier, ice maker, and laundry room. There are also free self-service lockers in the lobby, which are very handy. **Service:** The staff are very professional and friendly, always patiently helping you with any issues. **Cleanliness:** Every area, including the guest rooms, lobby, and laundry room, was incredibly clean. The laundry room experience was particularly good. **Overall:** I highly recommend this hotel; it offers great value for money.

Everyone is very friendly and it's nice at home. The rice is very good and the beach is nearby, so it is perfect for spending a luxurious time. This room is a wooden house with high ceilings and a touch of woody fragrance. The ceiling fan invites you to travel. Taking a step to the balcony, the stars look very beautiful, and the sounds of various creatures come and go. I feel that I have found something forgotten in my city life. I want to live longer. Even though this is an old hotel and it shows in its facilities and overall design, the service and amenities you get as a solo traveller is worth thw price you pay for an overnight stay. The room is clean albeit small but sufficient. Some points to take note if you're planning to book: This is close to the central station so it's juat a block away from major shopping and transport options. The hotel closes its front desk and doors at 11 pm to 7 am. Checkin before 11 pm. Going in and out of the hotel at that time is possible if you use your key card to open the front doors. Walls are thin and it's very possible that you would hear your neighbor. There's free coffee and drinks at the lobby.
