3-Starhotels in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan

Let's start with the pros. This hotel is basically joined to the JR Kyushu Shinkasen / Kagoshimachuo station which is joined to the AMU Plaza shopping mall and it also has a tram stop right outside the mall (Kagoshima-chuo eki mae tram stop). So in terms of location I think this hotel ticks all the boxes. The lady at the front counter who was checking me was very friendly, however, we both had to use a translator to communicate 😂 . I believe that is it for the pros. Moving on to the cons. This hotel is starting to show its age (and not in a good way). The room was small, the bathroom is vintage, it felt dewy and it gave me an allergy attack. The 3 gripes I had: 1) The fix AC near the ceiling was blowing directly onto the bed which was really uncomfortable. I believe this contributed to my allergy flare-up. 2) The bed and the pillow was not very comfortable. I did not sleep well for the couple of nights. Or it could've just been the AC. 3) The hotel didn't offer any bottled waters. I would rather they take away the cheap plastic toothbrush and comb and offer the bottled waters instead.

可能是種子島上最好的酒店了。粉色外觀非常亮眼。房間窗外望去便是一望無垠的太平洋以及大象飲水巨石，酒店晚餐意外的好吃，早餐則是自助，衞生狀況比想象中好。酒店的避世感很好，位於種子島南邊，除了海浪聲非常安靜，晚上去沙灘邊走走看看星空很有感覺。

We had an amazing stay at this hotel and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The value for money is outstanding—everything you get here easily exceeds the price. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very pleasant to stay in, making it a great place to relax after a long day. The service was exceptional. The staff were always willing to help with anything we needed, no matter what it was, and they were consistently super kind, polite, and welcoming. You can really feel that they care about the guests. The location is perfect, with a bus stop right outside the hotel, making it very easy to get anywhere in the city quickly and efficiently. Overall, a fantastic stay—highly recommended!

Good stay, with clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast has more of western style, less of Japanese food, but the view of Sakurajima can be seen from restaurant. However in the morning, you may be eating under the sunshine, so better to go for breakfast either very early or much later, not when 8 plus as the sun is strong and you may be given a window seat for solo traveller and when the restaurant is packed.

De locatie ligt zeer dicht bij het busstation en het tramstation van de luchthaven. Er zijn veel restaurants, cafés, buurtwinkels en winkelcentra in de buurt. Het is erg handig om te eten en te winkelen. Het hotel beschikt over een zelfbedieningsbagageopslag en een kleine badkamer. Wat ik het meest op prijs stel, is dat de kamer licht is en dezelfde LG-wasdroger heeft! ! Je kunt de buitenste laag verwijderen om te genieten van de smaak van geroosterd vlees.

初めて利用させていただきました ジャグジーが利用出来なかったのは残念でしたが、その他は大満足で、楽しい時間を過ごさせていただきました 赤ちゃんやぎや、のんびりできるプール、お部屋が畳だったので、ゆったり過ごせました 夜は星空がめっちゃめっちゃきれいでしたよ 次回はお友達家族も誘って伺いたいと思います

My second stay at Quintessa. This time, it was a last min booking. The room, as with all Jap hotels, is small. Difficult for a clam-shell luggage. But it will be manageable if you packed well. Location is good - near to the airport limousine bus bus-stop, near to eateries, cafe, LOFT, MUJI, DON DONKI etc.

Amazing breakfast , very adorable onsen , excellent location and friendly staff makes this place highly recommended to a tourist looking for comfortable and reasonable price . I spent three nights and I wish I could spend even longer time there due the comfort and convenience of the property . Free facial masks is an extra ❤️

Отличное расположение: остановки, порт, торговые улочки(и Дон Кихот) – всё рядом, при этом тихо. Номер шикарный: места много, всё чисто, необходимое всё есть. Персонал приветливый – подсказали, что нужно, в дождь одолжили зонт. Идеальный вариант для пребывания в Кагосиме!
