Hotels met Spa in Shandong, China

De locatie van het hotel is absoluut perfect en de faciliteiten behoren tot de beste in Yantai. De service was ook ongelooflijk hartelijk en professioneel. We hadden een bijzondere ervaring tijdens ons verblijf: mijn zoon liet per ongeluk een van zijn schoenen in een DiDi-taxi liggen en we konden de chauffeur moeilijk bereiken vanwege de taalbarrière. Gelukkig deed medewerker Dragon Xu er alles aan om ons te helpen. Hij communiceerde met de chauffeur, regelde dat de schoen werd opgehaald en regelde zelfs alle bijbehorende details en kosten met grote zorg. Die schoen had een heel speciale betekenis voor ons gezin en we zijn hem enorm dankbaar voor zijn vriendelijkheid en toewijding. Dankzij deze ervaring zullen we de volgende keer dat we Yantai bezoeken zeker weer met nog meer plezier in het Pullman Yantai Center verblijven.

Room is relatively big. Got the city view twin bed room. The bed is bigger than a single bed, probably twin sized bed. The room is in the old wing but at least it doesnt feel old and surprisingly quite a pleasant stay. Valley wing is the newer side. This hotel seems to be a popular conference hotel. In my 4-5 days staying there, there was always a conference held in the hotel. The hotel has larger taxis which can take 5-6pax. The taxi goes by meter so was reasonable. The hotel is very conveniently located, next to MixC shopping mall. There are many restaurants in the shopping mall where we had dinner. There were also many bakeries and a supermarket in the mall. There is also the usual mc donalds, starbucks and luckin coffee. There was also a new songmont shop that recently opened in the mall. For breakfast, there is a lane behind the hotel where we tried the dumplings and noodles for breakfast/brunch. Good price, around 100yuan for 5 pax. Cheap and good.

Great location, close to airport. Shuttle bus pick up at airport went without any issue since I have a Chinese phone number, but may be difficult to contact them without it. You need to call them to pick you up and then they will tell you where you’ll be picked up. They have shuttle bus schedule for departure from hotel so make sure you know the time and have to register via wechat. Only stayed for one night. Room was clean but the floor was a bit dirty. Took me awhile to turn on the fridge as it wouldn’t turn on. Appreciate the amenities. Overall, enjoyed my stay, thanks!

Fantastic service by the hotel staff—very polite, patient, and friendly throughout our stay. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach and offers an amazing view, making it a truly relaxing and comfortable experience. The breakfast could be improved, especially if the food were served hotter or kept warm. Food options around the hotel were also quite limited during this period due to the cold weather. However, taking a Didi ride further out is convenient and opens up a wide variety of dining choices. Overall, highly recommended, and I would definitely return again.

Vier mensen verbleven twee dagen in twee kamers. Het was erg handig. Je kunt je auto parkeren en het is heel dicht bij de schilderachtige plek! De tuin is erg schoon. Er is een groot terras op de t****e verdieping, wat erg ontspannend is. Ik vergat foto's te maken in de kamer. Het is erg ruim en staat vol met mooi meubilair Er is ook een dakraam dat overdag open is en de zon naar binnen schijnt. Het belangrijkste punt is dat de gordijnen erg licht blokkeren! ! Het is geen probleem om uit te slapen. De vloerverwarming is helemaal niet koud. De baas en het personeel helpen ook met de bagage. Ik zal hier blijven de volgende keer dat ik ga nachtelijk verkennen!

I found what looked like an engorged tick or bedbug crawling up my bed. The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la.

Overall, my stay was good. However, the Xiao Du device didn’t work throughout my visit, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, there was one day when housekeeping forgot to make up my room. Despite these issues, the front desk staff provided good service and were always helpful and polite. The location is also quite close to Dai Temple, which makes sightseeing easier.

I would like to give a round of applause to this great hotel located next to airport as it showed good convenience for anyone who wishes to transit or stay for a vacation at Qingdao, China. Also, i would like to give a warm thank you to the receptionist at the time when I arrived at the hotel. Her name is “Even”, and she was ever so polite, kind and always smiling which made feel so welcome. She made my experience at the hotel very satisfying as she was very informative about the facilities and services the hotel had to offer its guests. I believe that wonderful staff deserves every credit for treating me like one of China’s own people. P.S. thank you so much Grand Barony Hotel for taking good care of me during my stay!

Excellent stay experience. A hotel brand stands true for its reputation. My request for early check in was considered without any hassle. Was pleasantly surprised especially after a long journey. Could not use other services such as spa, gym etc. breakfast varied and really delicious ! Loved the design of room balcony and the view very much ! In room dining was quick and pleasant.

One of the beset Shangri-la stays in a long while. The service of the staff was top-notch from the start. They were ethusiastic and welcoming. They would go above and beyond to get things done and were friendlly at all times. The best thing is they would figure things out ahead for you so you don't have to think. Truly impeccable service. The Chinese Restaurant is also superb — one of the best Chinese restaurants we've had, anywhere!
