"Great hotel and location. Has everything you need within walking distance. Restaurants bars and casino just downstairs. Pool was lovely. More restaurants and Pac Fair mall just across the street. 5 min walk to the beach. We even walked to Draculas Cabaret for some evening entertainment one night. Staff were friendly and helpful and everything was clean. Would stay here again. The only down side was having to pay extra for parking. It’s $20 a day."

"Na mijn toespraak bij de receptie gisteravond ben ik vandaag eindelijk overgestapt op een kamer met een balkon. In feite delen meerdere kamers een balkon, maar het komt zelden voor dat ik gisteren van het verzegelde dubbele glas** afkom. Sommige kamers op het terras hebben bordjes waar niet mag worden gerookt en andere niet. Ik weet niet wat ik ervan moet denken. Het toilet is de eerste keer dat ik het in Fumura zag en ik gebruikte het in Kyoto. Maar het spuit geen water en het is nutteloos. De manager kwam en verving de batterij. Het werkte niet. Het betekent alleen dat er morgen iemand komt om het te repareren, maar er kwam niemand tegen de tijd dat ik uitcheckte. De manager was zeer toegewijd en ging op het toilet zitten om zijn pak keer op keer te passen, waardoor mensen echt gingen zweten voor zijn pak. Ik heb persoonlijk getest dat de balkondeur niet van buitenaf kan worden geopend nadat deze is gesloten. Vergeet niet uw mobiele telefoon mee te nemen als u bij harde wind naar het balkon gaat, anders wordt het hele balkon een podium voor het bellen om hulp."

"This apartment will be our go-to apartment for future trips to Brisbane. If you enjoy walking, this is the best place to stay. Walkable to almost everywhere that we needed to go. Mostly flat land so don't have to worry about the luggage. South Brisbane train station is less than 10mins walk away and the bus terminal at Cultural Centre is a lifesaver. We enjoyed the 50cents rides across the 3 transport systems...bus, trains and ferry. It only costs us 50cents for the 1hr 45mins train ride from South Brisbane to Surfers' Paradise station. Awesome!! And Queen Street Mall is only a bus stop away or for those who enjoy walking, it's just a 10-15mins walk over the South Brisbane Bridge. Checking in and out was a breeze with the help of all the friendly staff."

"This was my second stay at this hotel, and it was just as good as the first. The location is convenient, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff are consistently professional. I had a really enjoyable stay and will likely book here again next time. There is also pool access right next door at the west inn. Really nice experience"

"After reading very mixed reviews, we went ahead and booked it. The result: very mixed feelings. The location was beautiful, the sights breathtaking, the animals adorable, but when it came to actually spending time there, there wasn’t much to do. We arrived on a later ferry so we knew we wouldn’t have much time to enjoy the sun after arrival, however because of a mix up, our suitcases went missing for an hour making us miss any chance of getting in the pool while it was hot out. After, we went for dinner. There are only 2 restaurants available, and without making a reservation before hand, it’s a bit hard to go when you want. The food was ok, but expensive as one would expect from a place like this. Once dinner was finished, the evening entertainment (Alice in Wonderland screening) was already underway and we found ourselves with nothing to do at 9pm. Early night for us. The following day we planned a day of snorkelling, stingray feeding and kayaking. We appreciated the free snorkel gear as well as the clear safety instructions and recommendations of the lifeguard. The sting Ray feeding experience was amazing and it was clear the staff knew what they were talking about and were passionate about the animals. Kayaking and other water sports were cancelled however because of the high winds, leaving us, once again, with nothing to do. Early dinner (very entertaining moment with wallabies attempting to steal our food and being super cuddly), a walk around the beach, movie in the room, and early bedtime. So all in all, beautiful location with great experiences of the weather allow, make sure to bring some entertainment if the water is too cold to swim in the pool or the weather turns sour. Maybe a book or some board games? Also: if you want food in the late afternoon, make sure you bring some snacks as there is a limited selection available."
