Romantic hotels in Sabah, Malaysia

air conditioner need to fix or services room very hot. when i ask for hairdryer the receptionist told me to wait for 2hours then lastly i got nothing from my waiting, no hairdryer no aircond fix. please give a good service next time.

I expected a great hotel stay and they delivered. All the staff were lovely. Thank you for that. My only issue is the lack of room information regarding what is available in the hotel. Normally I would expect marketing information and menus for restarunt and bar in the room. The TV does give room service menu but was not required. Fortunately we found Ben, the Concierge in the lobby who very kindly explained what we asked, and provided a map for the area. Very welcome. Thank you very much.

1. Het personeel was allemaal erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk, zelfs het personeel bij het zwembad was erg aardig. 2. Er waren te veel mensen bij het zwembad toen wij er waren. 3. Jammer dat er geen ontbijt was. 4. Hmm... het toilet had alleen een bidet. Wij Sabahanen zijn niet zo dol op bidets, ze zijn moeilijk te gebruiken voor kinderen en ook voor volwassenen, het is lastig om je te wassen, haha. 5. Maar de kamer was erg ruim, het bed ook groot en de prijs was betaalbaar. 6. Ik had ook om verjaardagsdecoratie gevraagd, maar die was er helaas niet bij het inchecken. Maar dat is oké. Nog iets: bij het inchecken was onze kamer niet op slot, wat zorgwekkend was. De kamer miste ook basisbenodigdheden zoals een badjas en handzeep, terwijl de naastgelegen kamer die wel had. We hebben desondanks genoten van ons verblijf, maar we hopen dat het management meer aandacht zal besteden aan de voorbereiding van de kamers en de veiligheid van de gasten.

Great service. Decided to book the hotel at the very last minute. Booking confirm almost immediately. Did not bring charger but luckily i got my usb with me and the room have a plug that can be direct plug in usb. The view is splendid,(i choose sea view) unfortunately they did not provide free parking. I was charge about rm 22 for 1 overnight stay.the hotel itself is walking distance to anjung kinabalu.the breakfast limited choice for weekend stay, but the food is delicious.i would recommend this hotel 8.5/10

Mijn verblijf in Sutera Mantanani was absoluut onvergetelijk. De locatie van het hotel is werkelijk fantastisch: direct aan de oceaan, met een adembenemend uitzicht vanaf het moment dat je naar buiten stapt. Wakker worden met het geluid van de golven en het kristalheldere water was pure verwennerij. De kamers waren schoon, comfortabel en ontworpen om optimaal te genieten van de natuurlijke schoonheid rondom het hotel. Het personeel was vriendelijk en attent, wat zorgde voor een aangenaam en ontspannen verblijf. Of je nu wilt ontspannen op het strand of het eiland wilt verkennen, dit hotel is de perfecte uitvalsbasis voor je reis. Ik kan Sutera Mantanani van harte aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een rustig toevluchtsoord met adembenemende uitzichten. Ik kan niet wachten om terug te keren!

Room was spacious and very clean. Very comfortable with 2 pillows each bed. Toilet also very clean and has enough towels for 3 of us. Hotel staff also was very friendly and helpful especially during check in. Breakfast buffet not many choices of food but still enough to make stomach full. Location wise very good. Near to Pasar Philippines and next to Central Point mall. Easy to get anything around there. Had a very pleasant stay and will consider coming back.

It was my first time to stay at Kota Kinabalu Marriott. The overall stay was amazing! Fast check in/out. Spotless clean, spacious rooms and modern. Great hotel amenities. Memorable sunset view from the rooftop while drinking cocktails and infinity pool. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was super delicious with wide varieties of choices from local to western cuisine. The view of the sea and the island from the balcony were absolutely great! It's located in the centre and nearby supermarkets, restaurants, old town, night markets, malls, money exchange centre and many more. Walking distance too to everything. I will definitely Comaback here again.

Pampines Villa at Mount Kinabalu delivered an experience that felt both refined and genuinely warm. From the moment we needed assistance, the customer service stood out — the team graciously supported us even beyond their working hours, with kindness and professionalism that made us feel truly cared for. The villa itself was immaculate and beautifully maintained, reflecting a high standard of comfort and attention to detail. Every space was pristine, thoughtfully arranged, and inviting — a perfect sanctuary to rest and unwind. This stay left a lasting impression on us. Pampines Villa combines luxury accommodation with sincere hospitality, a rare and memorable combination. We were deeply impressed and will most certainly return whenever we find ourselves back at Mount Kinabalu. Highly recommended.

The hotel is strategically located near the night market, with easy access to various eateries and souvenir shops. The room was clean and well maintained, and the service provided by the staff was professional. The pricing is affordable and offers good value for money. One minor limitation is that the elevator is relatively small, which may cause slight inconvenience during peak hours.

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is probably the best place to stay in the entire city, not just for the rooms, but for everything else as well. The hotel is modern, very clean, and the service attitude from every single staff member is outstanding, from check-in to housekeeping to restaurant and bar teams. The pool and views on the 23rd floor are amazing, and the gym, while slightly small, has a really nice mountain view. Breakfast offers a great variety, and à la carte options are included at no extra cost, which is a big plus. The bar is excellent, especially during happy hour with buy-one-get-one-free deals on selected drinks. Honestly, the hotel was so comfortable that we barely wanted to leave, even just for a walk outside. Special thanks to Natalie at check-in, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. She even upgraded us from a city-view room to a mountain-view room, which made the stay even more special. At the bar, Alvin was tirelessly explaining the menu and drinks to us, and Yus always greeted us with a warm smile and provided great service, they truly made the experience memorable. If I ever come back to Kota Kinabalu, this would 100% be my place to stay again.
