Romantic hotels in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan

De locatie van het hotel is ongelooflijk gunstig, met de JR-trein, een tramhalte, AMU Plaza en Family Mart in de buurt – perfect voor wie een ontspannen verblijf wil. Als je de volgende ochtend vroeg op pad wilt, is er een bakkerij beneden die om 7:00 uur opent; het brood daar is heerlijk. Het personeel bij de receptie spreekt uitstekend Engels en het hotel biedt ook betaald parkeren tegen zeer redelijke prijzen (als je de betaalde parkeerplaats niet kunt vinden, vraag het dan even bij de receptie). Ik zou dit hotel zeker weer kiezen als ik ooit Kumamoto bezoek! 👍🏻

Een heel fijn hotel. We waren van plan om bij het hotel te parkeren, maar het personeel raadde een goedkopere parkeerplaats in de buurt aan voor slechts 1200 yen per dag (tot 11:00 uur, de uitchecktijd). Het inchecken verliep soepel. Er is een zelfbedieningsautomaat, maar we hebben ons laten inchecken door het personeel. Ze waren erg beleefd. Bij het uitchecken hoef je alleen maar je kaart in de automaat te steken, superhandig. Het bed was ook comfortabel. Er waren een tandenborstel, tandpasta, shampoo, conditioner, douchegel, wasgoed (op het bed op de foto) en een waterkoker aanwezig. Je kunt direct warm of koud water uit de kraan gebruiken. De locatie van Grids Hotel is ook strategisch. Er is een winkelcentrum en restaurants op loopafstand. Een aanrader!

Wonderful hotel 🏨 ♥️ 👌 We feel it's a real 5 stars hotel; from the excellent service, the rooms and on to the dinning room, and of course the onsen, everything and everyone were just perfect! We got a room facing the garden, forest and mountains and it was just great waking up to these views in the mornings. The experience of food was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner... The staff here go out if their way to make sure you have what you need, and the onsen was the best one I have seen in Japan so far; it has several hot baths, indoor and outdoor, and dry sauna. We were extremely happy we booked this place ahead of time as it was fully booked when we arrived and there wasn't even availability to upgrade, even though it wasn't needed as the room was great already. Thanks for everything 🙏

The hotel is very accessible. It is inside the mall. The bus terminal going to airport is just underneath. So many restaurants and there is a family mart too. The hotel is new and as expected is not so spacious but the breakfast is good and staff are really accommodating. Highly recommended this hotel if you are traveling to Kumamoto. Kumamoto castle is just 15mins walked while Shimotori Shopping Center is just 5-10mins away. We are also very lucky to witness their festival since the parade happened around the area. The Great Festival of Fujisaki Hachimangu Shrine (or Zuibyo Festival), held every September. Its so fun🥰🥰

De locatie is geweldig! Elektriciteitsnet en bussen liggen op minder dan tien minuten lopen. Daarnaast ligt de winkelstraat Kami****ori, en de warenhuizen Tsuruya en Kumamoto liggen op loopafstand. Voor de deur ligt de nieuwe marktstraat en het onlangs geopende winkelcentrum Sakuramachi, wat erg handig is om te winkelen, eten en uitgaan. Het hotel is erg nieuw, de kamer is 22 vierkante meter groot en twee grote dozen kunnen gemakkelijk worden uitgespreid. Er zijn complete ondersteunende faciliteiten. Er is een magnetron op de vloer om 's ochtends maaltijden op te warmen. Er is een koelkast, een tafel en stoelen in de kamer, en er is een supermarkt ernaast ontbijt, het is gemakkelijk. De prijs/prestatieverhouding is extreem hoog. Ik zal deze plek waarschijnlijk opnieuw kiezen als ik in de toekomst naar Kumamoto kom. Er zijn twee tekortkomingen. De ene is dat de geluidsisolatie van de kamer gemiddeld is, en de andere is dat de watertemperatuur in de badkamer niet op een hogere temperatuur kan worden aangepast. Daarnaast verstrekt het hotel gratis gezichtsmaskers, maar het gebruik van het lichaamsmasker wordt afgeraden hahaha.

Decent-sized room and nicely furbished; Amazing location for food, transport, shopping, tram. Literally a 7-11 at your doorstep. Public bath was amazing, even has outdoor bath; Lounge available for working (after 3pm) and provides drinks and good wifi; Professional service and attitude from hotel staff. Would stay again 10/10

One of the many ryokans in the area. Picked this ryokan due to the location to the bus station, but the hotel did pick up and drop off us at the bus station. The dinner was satisfying, and as we are not very big eaters, we were so full by the end. The stay comes with private onsen which requires reservation. Hospitality of the staffs are great.

This is the best hotel in Kurokawa! 1. Stuff is kindly meet you, explain everything and help as well as it possible. 2. Ryokan has 6(!) private bathes with different style. No extra payment,, no reservation. You can available status on your TV. During my staying there was at least one ready for use, no time all of them was using. 3. Water. Just perfect, has a right temperature and composition. Just put yourself into the bath and feel relaxed just since that second. 4. Rooms. Clean and fresh. 5. Open-air bath is cool to, for me a bit too hot. And I was the only one who use it during the dinner time. 6. I had only breakfast, but it is service in private room in dinner hall. Very delicious with various of dishes. 7. The hotel located at two sides of the river. Travelers could enjoy a scenic view from the bridge.

高評価だったのでとても楽しみにしていたのですが、夜ご飯も物足りなくて、朝ごはんもちょっと残念でした。 おかずも似たりよったりで、煮物系が多かったです。*などもあったら良かったと思いました。 食事処が掘りこたつでしたが、温度が入っていなくて寒かったです。 平日だったのでお得に泊まれたとは思ったのですが、金額も1人25000円以上になったので、その金額を出すのならばもう少し満足度が欲しかったですね。 本当に期待していたので、辛口のコメントですみません。 お部屋のお風呂は良かったので、料理をもう少し。。。と思いました。

An absolutely wonderful experience.
The staff at the ryokan were incredibly polite and always ready to help with anything we needed. Upon check-in, we were provided with traditional attire, pajamas, tabi slippers, bath amenities, and a small welcome treat with matcha and coffee. We also asked at the front desk if they could give us a ride to the bus stop after check-out, and they kindly said yes, of course. 
Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. At first, we were planning to explore several other local onsens, but after experiencing the ones at the ryokan, we felt completely satisfied. There are separate baths for hotel guests (men’s and women’s), baths open to both guests and visitors (also divided by gender), as well as a private onsen. One of the onsens also has a sauna.
The traditional dinner and breakfast were both impressive—delicious and very generous in portion.
The surrounding grounds are stunning, perfect for peaceful walks. This ryokan is a bit further from the main cluster of inns, but that was exactly what we wanted—to enjoy quiet walking.
At night, our futons were laid out for us, adding to the authentic experience. The only reason I deducted one star is the very bright green light on the ceiling that stays on all night and can’t be turned off or covered. I didn’t have a sleep mask with me, and the ryokan didn’t provide one, so I had a sleepless night. It was quite unpleasant.
That said, I still highly recommend this ryokan—it’s an unforgettable place to stay.
