"This hotel is more of an Airbnb style where after you check in they bring you to your private apartment which is awesome. We got a free upgrade and had a massive room with a living area, seperate kitchen, two full bathrooms, and 4 seperate bedrooms with cozy beds. We also had a massive balcony with amazing views of the Jinhong area that were stunning during the day and especially at night (see attached photos). The staff were also super helpful and really responsive in terms of helping us with questions and recommending delicious local restaurants that were off the beaten path. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are with a group of friends or a larger party. It’s clean and super great value."

"Starting from good things. Room with private hot spring was nice and clean and bed and bed linen was great. Despite hot spring pool was leaking and needed to refill constantly. But no problem with that if water supply is turned on and you can operate yourself with valves. Hotel staff recommended many places for eating outside. Thanks for that! We arrived before check in time and asked to spend our time near the pool area which was not problem. When I was looking for toilet then lady from shop told to me that I should go outside the territory and use toilet which is for camper van people. And it was not toilet but old school ditch. Fortunately it was cleaned. Lot of things are in real life different than in pictures what you can find in web pages. Many hot springs was closed, on site was not operating restaurants and bars. Only you can order food from app or go outside. Area is under the airplanes take off route that means in daytime lot of noise. About 6pm domestic water supply was turned off and situation lasted until our leaving next day about 11am. Hotel staff wrote that if you want to use toilet I should let them know and they will find a solution. No shower or washing. Breakfast was simple. In the breakfast area is operational coffee machine but for some reason lady behind the table told that not possible and drink cold pre brewed ice coffee? I hope that it’s not connected with lack of water supply. Machine may be filled with purified bottle water not local tap water."

"Alles was bijna perfect, maar ik gaf het toch een 5/5, op een paar minpuntjes na die ik zal toelichten. Het hotel is erg moeilijk te vinden voor buitenlanders die geen Chinees kunnen lezen, schrijven of spreken. Sterker nog, het hotel ligt naast de ingang van een kleine winkel zonder bordjes of hotelnaam in het Engels. Mensen op straat wisten niet eens dat er een hotel was. Verder is het goed gelegen, dicht bij alles. We kregen de eerste nacht een kamer zonder ramen, maar het hotel was zo vriendelijk om ons de t****e nacht zonder extra kosten naar een andere kamer te verplaatsen. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en we konden communiceren via een tolk. We zouden een auto huren bij het treinstation, maar zonder telefoon was dat niet mogelijk, en omdat we geen Chinees verstaan, was het onmogelijk om te vragen. Dit waren de kleine logistieke problemen op de eerste dag."

"Hoewel de accommodatie in een smal steegje ligt, is het met een plattegrond snel te vinden. Het is vlakbij de taxistandplaats, waardoor het makkelijk is om je te verplaatsen. Ze hebben ons zelfs geholpen met onze bagage, zodat we zonder problemen konden reizen, ook al waren we met een groep vrouwen. Ze hebben onze oorspronkelijke kamer zelfs geüpgraded 🥹. De kamer is in goede staat en er is voldoende warm water. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk. Ze boden ons thee aan en gaven ons tips voor geweldige restaurants (die heerlijk waren). Het leek alsof ze ons ook hielpen met het boeken van dingen zoals Jade Dragon Snow Mountain en voorstellingen! Bovenal is de accommodatie prachtig. Ik was echt dol op de kleine tuin. Oh, en er zijn vier schattige, lieve en goedgemanierde katten. Het was in ieder geval geweldig om bij de katten te zijn. Als ik ooit weer in Lijiang ben, denk ik dat ik hier zeker weer zal verblijven."

The beautiful lake shore and the rolling mountains form a unique and dreamy blending scene.
"This is a very nice hotel, great location, good rooms and excellent, helpful staff. But the hotel gets bad marks in two areas. First, the food was generally very good but the Western breakfast buffet choices were nearly always cold. I tried three days in a row to get poached eggs that were not hard boiled. On the third day I got what I wanted but even then the eggs were stone cold. The second issue was the the lack of necessary security staff. The lobby bar was nice and had a young woman playing guitar in the evenings but on our second evening 4 drunks were drinking, shouting and smoking and refused to stop when the hotel staff intervened. After this things escalated and instead of having hotel security throw them out the drunks started harassing us and it got ugly so we left for our room. The hotel called our room to apologize but it was not equipped to deal with this situation and needs to have better control over their public areas. A lesson to be learned. I will be sending a separate letter to Accor management giving full details of this unfortunate event."

"IK RAAD DIT HOTEL ABSOLUUT NIET AAN! Het hotelpersoneel bood mij en mijn vrienden 20 yuan korting aan als we een vijfsterrenrecensie zouden schrijven. De locatie van het hotel is niet goed; je moet minstens 15 minuten met de taxi naar het dichtstbijzijnde winkelcentrum. De voorzieningen zijn niet geweldig, ze bieden alleen dunne wegwerphanddoeken aan om je af te drogen. Ik heb om meer handdoeken gevraagd, maar het hotelpersoneel stond dit niet toe, dus moesten we ze in het toilet ophangen om te drogen. We waren er in de winter en de airconditioning blies alleen maar warme lucht, zelfs op de laagste stand. Het hotelpersoneel zei dat het openen van het raam de kamer koud zou maken. Ik heb niet goed geslapen omdat ik een gevoelige neus heb en een lichte slaper ben. Het openen van het raam maakte de kamer erg droog en benauwd door de wind die naar binnen blies, en je hoorde ook het geluid van auto's op de weg."

"Every year for my annual leave, I go traveling, and this year I chose Kunming. I stayed at the Shanhaiyunjing Hotel, and it's truly the most atmospheric hotel I've ever experienced. The hotel's design is incredibly chic; it's like they've brought an entire art gallery right into a hotel by Dianchi Lake – it's absolutely stunning! As soon as you step into the lobby, you're embraced by minimalist artistry. The art installations in the corridors and the succulent landscaping are meticulously composed at every turn, making every snapshot a scenic view. The room offers fantastic views; you can lie in bed and see the Sleeping Beauty Hill. They even thoughtfully provided bath salts by the soaking tub. The butler proactively recommended a route for birdwatching the black-headed gulls, and even the breakfast featured Yunnan specialties like red rice and 'Er Si' (rice noodles). Staying here felt like living in a poetic landscape of mountains and seas. Next time I'm in Kunming, I'll definitely choose this place again!"

The courtyard is designed with a distinctive "one mountain, one tree, one large white" aerial viewing courtyard, offering a wide and soothing view, making it a unique aesthetic spot for photo-taking. All the rooms in the house are well-equipped and follow a high-standard, meticulous hygiene management. The entire house is equipped with an intelligent guest control system. The comfort level during stay is comparable to that of a hotel. The exclusive viewing area on the top floor has an unobstructed view. It caters to both comfortable accommodation and the local cultural atmosphere.
"Een dag van tevoren nog snel een B&B geboekt. De uitstekende recensies en hoge scores waren doorslaggevend, dus ik reserveerde zonder aarzelen. Ik wilde immers zelf ervaren of het echt zo was als online werd beweerd. Bij aankomst bleek het inderdaad zijn reputatie volledig waar te maken. Wat mij het meest aansprak, was het prachtige uitzichtterras. Je kon er de hele dag heerlijk zitten. Zowel het ontbijt als de afternoon tea waren super fotogeniek en smaakten ook nog eens verrukkelijk. Zonder twijfel heb ik dan ook meteen een nacht bijgeboekt. De volgende keer dat ik Lijiang bezoek, boek ik hier zeker weer!"

"**Service** The service was excellent. The staff were very attentive and always willing to help. Although we arrived early, the hotel allowed us to check in right away and welcomed us with a small tea session and cake. Despite the language barrier, they made an effort to explain how to stay safe at high altitude and even helped check whether items in the old town were overpriced. **Location** The hotel is located right at the North Gate of the old town. It’s very convenient to hail a taxi or book a ride through an app. You can easily access the old town without having to carry your luggage over cobblestone streets. **Room** The room looked exactly like the photos advertised—clean and comfortable. A humidifier was also provided. **Downside** Smoke from outside smokers can sometimes seep into the room, which may be irritating. **Summary** I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lijiang."

I stayed for three days in early August during the peak season, around the Torch Festival, and the overall service experience was quite mediocre. First, let me start with the positives: the room was very clean. Throughout my stay, I didn't see a single hair on the carpet or the bed each day. Now for the negatives: 1. Breakfast was so crowded that there was no dining experience at all. On the first day, I was ”tricked” into going to the cafe for breakfast, under the pretext that the main restaurant was too full. I say ”tricked” because the server said the two places offered the same food, but I later discovered that the cafe's selection was only about one-tenth of what the main restaurant offered. This was totally unnecessary. Firstly, for most guests, the dining experience (fewer people) far outweighs a few extra dishes. Secondly, the servers could have easily informed guests in the cafe that they could get food from the main restaurant and then eat it in the cafe. This level of service is completely inconsistent with the hotel's positioning. Secondly, the hygiene at breakfast was concerning. I understand it's peak season and crowded, but it's unacceptable when cutlery in the table caddies isn't replenished promptly. Moreover, I even found used cutlery from previous guests in the cutlery holder! (See picture). After informing a server, they very calmly took it away and then placed new cutlery directly into the caddy that still had food residue in it! They didn't even clean the caddy! Overall, the quality of service from both the front desk and restaurant staff urgently needs improvement. When I had dinner at the Chinese restaurant, I was also constantly bothered by three flies, yet several servers stood by and watched without doing anything. (See picture). While the view is nice, I would advise against dining in the restaurant, and the breakfast experience was also extremely poor.

I highly recommend staying at Yundu in Lijiang! This was by far the best accommodation of my entire trip. The room offered a direct view of the snow-capped mountains, allowing me to wake up and enjoy the sunrise illuminating the golden peaks without having to rush out for sightseeing. It was incredibly comfortable and rejuvenating. The butler team provided exceptionally detailed service, handling everything from transportation and room upgrades to custom breakfast requests – their attentiveness exceeded expectations. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, with excellent coffee and fruity flavors, making for a fantastic overall dining and living experience. The guesthouse is conveniently located for easy access to and from both ancient towns. It's quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of the old city. Every day felt relaxed and pleasant. This is a treasure of a guesthouse, allowing you to shed your fatigue and peacefully gaze at the snow-capped mountains. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Lijiang.

The staff was very nice and even picked us up from the street (the taxi cannot enter the old town, you have to walk for a bit, which is totally fine).The staff even helped us carry our luggage (see the picture). They then greeted us with a selection of local tea and were very friendly. They also advised us on how to prepare for the Yulong Xueshan day trip, when to leave, etc. The room is very cute and their terrace has an amazing view. I would definitely stay there again.

**Excellent Stay with Outstanding Hospitality** I had a wonderful experience during my recent stay at Liqiang. From the moment I arrived, the level of service exceeded my expectations. The highlight of my visit was the exceptional hospitality provided by our host, Mr. Sing, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He was incredibly caring and attentive throughout our stay, taking the time to help arrange our itinerary and providing valuable local insights. Mr. Sing's assistance was invaluable - he personally helped us with our luggage from the main entrance all the way up to the hotel, which we greatly appreciated. His local knowledge really enhanced our trip, as he introduced us to excellent dining options and guided us to the best shopping areas in the vicinity. The genuine care and attention to detail shown by our host Mr. Sing made our stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable. I would highly recommend Liqiang to anyone looking for a place that combines good accommodations with outstanding personal service. Thank you to Mr. Sing for making our visit so enjoyable!

Took my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. It was truly delightful. Thank you, Aling, for bringing us all together!

The room was a bit small, but the view was unbeatable! The service was incredible! Super highly recommend. There were four of us traveling with a lot of luggage. As soon as we arrived, five strong men came and carried a suitcase each on their shoulders. Later, the owner's recommendations for bars and restaurants were all delicious, and they responded instantly to any questions we had – absolutely no duds. From the room, you could see a panoramic view of the ancient city, and on a clear day, you could even see the snow-capped mountains.

The environment here is beautiful, with lush greenery in the courtyard and fresh air that instantly helps you relax. The bedding in the rooms is exceptionally comfortable – a good night's sleep here will leave you feeling completely refreshed! The service is incredibly thoughtful and attentive; no matter what you need, they'll help you out, making you feel as warm and welcome as if you were at home. Step outside the inn and you can immediately experience the ancient town's unique charm and leisurely pace of life, making it perfect for a relaxing vacation and capturing some great photos! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and immersive experience of Lijiang's culture!

We love it here, it was our highlight in Lijiang Ancient Town, the hosts were all friendly, the rooms were as advertised, free airport pickup, complimentary tea and fruits, cleanliness was spotless, spacious and advanced. Had a small cute rooftop for the view. The hosts however were our highlight, we felt genuinely cared for, they ensured our safety and comfort. Every time we are clueless they never fail to give their best to help us, ensure we have a good time, provided all relevant information, gave tips so we don’t get scammed by extreme high prices. At the end of the journey we felt like we made friends along the way, would definitely recommend and come again. Big thanks to Ah Azhong for being our host, we were grateful for your service. The place is located near the north gate but there is a closer exit/shortcut about 10 - 15 mins that is more accessible towards the didi areas in comparison to the main location entrances in the map.

This was truly a unique experience! The price was great, the environment was lovely, and the service was incredibly thoughtful. The front desk lady meticulously explained how to see the 'sunrise over the golden mountains' and how to explore Lijiang. The best part? The guesthouse owner turned out to be from my hometown in Chongqing, and even our neighbor! What a small world, you couldn't make this up. We drank tea in the afternoon and had drinks together in the evening – they were so incredibly hospitable! 😍 Next time I'm in Lijiang, I'm definitely staying here again. The emotional value was off the charts! 💯 Below are some real photos I took this morning. Friends, if you're going to Lijiang, this guesthouse should be your top choice.

The guesthouse has a fantastic location, just a 5-minute walk to the center of the old town. The owner was incredibly welcoming, offering to help with luggage and providing travel tips. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and stylishly decorated. Although it's on the street, it was very quiet at night; the attention to detail was excellent. My stay was perfect for a few days, and the value for money was fantastic. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lijiang!
