"One of the best rooms I stayed at. It has a modern and new interior, especially the floor is beautiful.
A little more care and attention by cleaning (window, shower glass enclosures, walls...) every few months and it would look like a 4 star room.
The view is beautiful as well as the place by the window.
Location isn't the best but close to metro, no big deal. Food and vegetables are easy to find nearby, the grocery is even in the same building.
PS: the location at the Trip and maps has to be fixed, it does show building 1 instead of 2. But the written location is right though. The reception is on floor 13, use the elevator for visitors."

"i saw many positive reviews and was excited to see if it was reality...
Simply put, its worth visiting Luoyang just to stay at May Fourth Youth Hostel.
The level of cleanliness, amicability, overall positive yet low-key ambience should be the standard across the country. From the music choice in the lobby to the staff who run it, It's clear it has been designed and is run by people who really understand what it means to be a traveller and what makes a good hotel. The rooms are spacious (sometimes hostels can feel claustophobic - but not here), with beds having more space than typical, good quality pillow and duvets. Suited for both travellers from the east and west, there are seated and squat toilets, with a large array of showers. The washing machine is great (if they had a couple of good Dryers too that would be amazing), as well as the communal rooms with vending machines, pool table, and seating area (including the lovely quiet library space)
The location is decent too, a spacious cultural park is nearby with the hostel itself tucked away from the main street, creating convinience but not crowds. The price is perfect! ideal for young people, students and solo travellers visiting on a budget. My friend decided to stay here two more days just because of the comfort and facilities. As both a foreigner and a woman, i felt safe and welcome here so i reccommend friends from abroad to come check this place out. Possibly the best youth hostel i've had the pleasure of staying in

"Overall pleasant stay!
Checkin was breeze, and location of hotel is strategic. 西工小街is right across the hotel, which have a similar concept of kopitiam. Night street with booths selling small crafts and also games like those night markets.
Soundproofing was not perfect. Could hear patrons talking along the corridor/opening and closing doors. And level 3 is a smoking level. Not sure why i was assigned the room at the level but we took it anyway without changing because it’s for just 2 nights.
Hotel offer breakfast and hightea (2-5pm) which is sad for us because we’re always out to explore and missing it. Breakfast was simple but sufficient to have a hot soup meal to warm up your body before you start the day
On checkout day, the hotel also gave us a souvenir each."

"Special thanks to Ms. Rachel and Mr. Zhangwenyi for everything you have done for us from the first day we arrive until the last day we left. Ms. Rachel is so helpful and well managed. My friend left her mobile on the hotel's shuttle to Luoyang high speed train. Ms. Rachel quickly responded to WeChat immediately when I told her. She came by herself and RAN to give me a mobile that I was waiting for in front of the entrqnce. We got the mobile before the train left, on time. Totally 15 mins!! She saved us. I don't know how to say thank you to her. I really appreciate that.
We stayed at Mercure Luoyang Downtown for 3 nights. The room is super clean, the bed and pillows are so comfortable. The staff is friendly and speaks English well. Laundry is tidy, clean, and trendy. Breakfast is a variety, western and Chinese menu changes everyday. The location is walkable to shopping malls and park nearby. I'd like to give more than 5 stars if I can. We have a pleasure time .Highly recommend."

"We are a couple from Norway coming to Dengfeng/Shaolin to se the temples, learn about the history and see the mountains of Shaolin. This hotel is an absolute pearl. About 600m from the Shaolin Temple entrance. And 10 minutes by Didi/Taxi to Dengfeng town. We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel and hotel rooms were beautiful, clean and felt like a little oasis. The rooms had good aircondition, the toilets where automatic, bed and pillows very comfortable. Overall stylish and good quality. In addition there are free massage chairs, a tea shop, a room for fotbaths, a laundry room, excellent dinner menu and a rooftop lounge/dinner space with view of the mountains. The best part of the hotell was definitely the staff. Welcoming, warm and good people. Very kind and service minded. 10/10 recommend this hotel. Also would like to add Anna, a Chinese local guide who speaks English who was recommended to us by the hotel. Everyone and everything was very efficient and pleasant."

TTDMaoI rarely leave reviews, but this time I just had to because the hotel was so exceptional, and I didn't want the hard work of all the staff to go unnoticed.
I stayed for four days, and the room was incredibly comfortable, spacious, clean, and beautiful. But beyond the room's comfort, the service truly provided an overwhelming amount of emotional value. 👍
The complimentary pick-up and drop-off service was fantastic. The driver was formally dressed, neat, and proactively helped us with all our luggage. The car was also spotless, and everyone received a wet towel and a bottle of mineral water upon entering. The attention to detail in their service was outstanding.
The front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic and diligent. Every day, they offered a free selection of snacks, beverages, ice cream, and tea bags. Whenever we had questions, they answered with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, and even gave us various small gifts, which was a delightful surprise.
The housekeeping service was absolutely unparalleled; it made you feel like royalty (like even the emperor would bow to you! 😂). All the housekeeping ladies not only fulfilled every request but also proactively anticipated our needs. For example, when they saw my glasses on the table, a housekeeping attendant proactively brought an eyeglass case. When they noticed we had a lot of clothes, a lady would bring a drying rack. And when they saw our cosmetics scattered on the table, another lady brought two small cosmetic bags to help us organize and carry them more conveniently.
The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, with a comprehensive selection of Chinese and Western, hot and cold dishes. The restaurant staff would also proactively and randomly ask guests daily, 'How was your rest last night? Do you have any suggestions for improvement?' If they saw a guest carrying too many plates, they would offer to help carry them back to the table. For dishes that took a few minutes to prepare, they would ask for the table number and deliver them. If you didn't want to go downstairs for breakfast, they could even deliver it to your room.
The parking attendant was also amazing, helping with parking, moving cars, and safekeeping keys. Whenever you parked, the attendant was always there, truly providing constant assistance. 😂
Across every service, there were so many instances of such proactive service that it truly deserves the highest praise.

The staff was incredibly helpful and made our stay even better, especially Wang Jing who could speak English and helped us with translation. They even let us use the hot springs and pool after our checkout. The restaurant served delicious food at a very comfortable price. I stayed in a Mongolian type room and it was a great experience, very clean and confortable. I will definitely come back!

But the price/performance ratio is really average.
This cost-effectiveness is reflected in three aspects. First, the price is really expensive. The newly opened Marriott is only 720 a night. Second, the ancient town is really average. It is a costume photography base. There are few stores, and half of them are under development. I am really worried about Luoyang’s infrastructure. Suitable for young couples and girls. It doesn't make much sense for parents and children, especially boys, to live here. Third, the hardware is okay, but the software details are so-so. For example, the breakfast is very low. Compared with the other two hotels I stayed in, the service and catering services are incomparable.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent; it's right off the elevated highway, making travel very convenient. There's also a subway station nearby. The front desk staff are all very enthusiastic and offer service with a smile. The room environment is elegant, and the lobby is spacious and bright. The bedding is very comfortable, and most importantly, the room is genuinely huge! We had a very comfortable stay, especially traveling with children. It was a great accommodation experience, truly recommended.

Looking at the foyer, lobby and decoration, it must have been a place to receive big leaders and cadres in the past, so when you book a room, you will find that there are many single rooms, which are not called double rooms but single rooms. The double boutique standard room I booked was larger, and the bathroom was pretty good, with a bathtub and shower, the water was very hot, almost all disposable items were provided, and the toothbrush was also very useful. The bed is also very comfortable, but compared to the standard room single beds in newly renovated hotels that usually range from 1.35 meters to 1.5 meters, the 1.2-meter bed here is really small, so you should be careful when bringing children. The bed is relatively high and does not lean against the walls on either side. When I booked the hotel, Ctrip showed that it would upgrade my room. When I checked in, the lady was also very polite and said that if there were elderly families, I could get a room closer to the elevator, or I could walk a little further and get a room with a balcony. GGuest UserCan’t say enough good things about this place! Hotel is well located in a quiet alleyway, but close to all the main attractions and food street. Our room was spotless and well stocked with all the essentials; water pressure was great; and the bed felt like a big soft cloud especially after a day of hiking. The roof area has an excellent view of the mountains. However, the best thing about this place is the boss lady. She was so efficient, quick, helpful, and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we had spent at least another night there. Thank you for the hospitality!

GGuest UserStayed two nights while visiting Yuntai Mountain, and the hotel owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They answered all our questions and gave excellent advice for our itinerary. The breakfast was delicious too! Plus, with an elevator and underground parking, it's super convenient for those traveling by car. The hotel's location is fantastic, close to the pedestrian street and the shuttle bus station. Highly recommend! 👍

Breakfast was more Chinese but certainly room for improvement.
One word of advice for those intending to use the massage services at the hotel ; beware as although paid for an hour, masseuse stopped exactly after 45 mins saying her time is up! Poor massage too!

GGuest UserI have been here many times, and this time I had the most exciting experience. I went to the night electronic music festival first, played until the park closed and went back to the hotel. It was really comfortable. I went to the park the next day for a whole day and had a lot of fun. Every time you come to the park to play, Holiday Inn is a must. You don’t have to go far with your children. The hotel has a shuttle bus. You can go back to rest quickly even if you play late. The breakfast is great and rich in content. I will continue to experience it next time. It is recommended that there are always events with tickets at the hotel😁
