Een van de beste plekken tijdens onze weeklange reis door Centraal-Sri Lanka. Ik wou dat ik langer dan een dag was gebleven, gewoon om te relaxen bij het zwembad met uitzicht op de bergen.
De kamer was erg ruim, met twee grote bedden met klamboes, warm water, een waterkoker en thee. Er was geen kluis of tv, maar wat maakt het uit? Het terras was groot en het uitzicht op de bergen was adembenemend. Het zwembad was fijn en het personeel was attent. Het ontbijt vond ik echter minder; hoewel het een buffet was, was er niet veel om uit te kiezen. Ik had liever een gewoon Engels ontbijt gehad. De locatie is eigenlijk goed; het is gemakkelijk om naar het centrum te lopen over de spoorlijn. We verdwaalden echter op de terugweg in het donker; de kaarten waren niet erg nauwkeurig, maar overdag is alles gemakkelijk te vinden.

Our stay here was absolutely remarkable, and we highly recommend this place to everyone. The staff are some of the kindest, most generous, and genuinely involved people we have ever encountered — their warmth truly made our stay unforgettable.
The surroundings are peaceful, and it’s magical to watch animals right from the pool. The food is extraordinary — both breakfast and dinner were among the most delicious meals we had in Sri Lanka.
The rooms are spacious and offer beautiful views over the fields, where we could see peacocks, buffaloes, and other wildlife. Another highlight is that the hotel provides bicycles for free, making it easy and fun to explore the nearby area.
The pool is large and perfect for relaxing, rounding out a truly special experience.
We will definitely be coming back and can’t recommend this place enough.

We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad bij dit hotel. De ligging is top, het ontbijt is goed en de medewerkers zijn erg vriendelijk. Enige nadeel is dat het erg gehorig is in het hotel, waardoor je de buren kan horen douchen en je hierdoor vroeg in de ochtend al wakker wordt.

Het was een heel magische reiservaring. Het was negen uur 's avonds toen we op de camping aankwamen. Tijdens de hobbelige tien minuten van de jeep voelden we ons bijna uitverkocht bovendien hebben we niet gegeten. Hoewel de smaak van BBQ gemiddeld was, wordt je tijdens het eten vergezeld door veel kleine dieren als je je hoofd laat zakken, en je ziet de sterrenhemel erg sfeervol.

Alle personeelsleden waren zeer vriendelijk en hebben een leuke tijd doorgebracht.
Ik heb ontbijt en diner gegeten, alles is lekker en ik kan Sri Lanka eten.
Tijdens het ontbijt sprak de manager met mij en stuurde hij een gelukkige gast van het hotel.
Ik wil het nog een keer gebruiken.

我們訂的行政別墅，樓下一個大床，樓上兩個略小床墊。電動窗簾拉開就是幾乎全景玻璃陽台，可以看到外麪茶山。還能看到三孔橋和路過火車。
mini bar裏面給了幾十包茶包，都是免費，四瓶玻璃瓶水也是免費，酒和飲品收費。
游泳池很好看很出片，像無邊泳池。
一定要選帶晚餐的，晚餐是點菜式五道式，非常可口，也很特別，不含飲料。早餐也有一個很特別的脆皮蛋包，通往餐廳的路上能拍到很美的照片。
唯一就是蚊蟲比較多，整個行程唯一的兩個包就是在這裏晚上睡覺時候被咬的

TtorinessKeeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

JJumpdaisukeI often asked for sandwiches at 6am, but the front desk didn't inform the kitchen, so I was in a hurry. However, the kitchen staff made them efficiently and prepared a delicious sandwich in 5 minutes. I am grateful. The location is a very narrow and steep slope, so I think it's not good for a big car, but I think that heavy people can't climb it. It's a perfect location because it's a 5-minute walk to the chill restaurant. I definitely recommend getting a room with a view, not the mountain river.

Cons: Arrived around 3pm, and waited for a full hour to check in, almost collapsed. The room has no air conditioning and simple facilities. Open bathroom, don't take a shower at night, it will be cold.

TTraveling TanOur recent stay at Mandara Rosen Yala was a genuinely pleasant experience. The hotel's serene atmosphere allowed us to relax and recharge, which was much appreciated after exploring the local area. We felt welcomed and valued as guests throughout our stay, thanks to the attentive service.
If our travels bring us back to Kataragama, Mandara Rosen Yala will certainly be our hotel of choice once more. It's an establishment that promises comfort and excellent dining experiences.

GGuest UserThis is a awesome place for family stay. The staff are super friendly and great service. The resort is 30 mins away for the Ella town, so its secluded from busy traffic or noise. GOOD place to just relax and they have a good spa and sports facilities like mini golf, basketball, squash and tennis court. The gym is wll equipment and the chalet room is superb! Finally the best part is the food.. oh its super yummy and great quality. Spl mention to Dhillon how feed us well and amazing service.
