Omdat ik maandag jarig was, koos ik voor een korte trip naar Suzhou in het weekend. En wat een geluk dat ik Wugong heb gekozen! Dit hotel in de stijl van een klassieke tuin is op zich al een bezienswaardigheid waar je bij elke stap iets nieuws ontdekt. Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en servicegericht, waardoor gasten zich echt thuis voelen. Amy in het Tashadow Café van het hotel is enthousiast en grappig. En het beste is dat hotelgasten gratis toegang hebben tot het Panmen Scenic Area, dat direct aan het hotel grenst. Overdag is het al prachtig, maar 's avonds, wanneer de lichtjes aangaan, is het een hele andere, even betoverende ervaring. Ik heb meteen besloten om mijn moeder hier met Chinees Nieuwjaar naartoe te brengen, zodat zij dit ook kan ervaren!

I stayed at this hotel over a weekend, and it was completely sold out (fully booked). Having lived in Nanjing previously, I know this hotel is quite famous, but I honestly cannot understand the five-star rating. The room wasn't dirty, but it was incredibly poorly maintained. The lobby is gorgeous, and the first-floor restrooms gave me the impression that the whole place would be pure luxury, but the room itself was, at best, a three-star experience. The issues were clear: The wallpaper was peeling, the furniture was scuffed and worn, the ceiling was very dirty, and the sink was separating from the counter. The hotel needs a massive, urgent renovation to truly justify calling itself a five-star establishment! The location is excellent, and I have no complaints about the cleanliness. The front desk staff was very cordial and polite. However, I sent a message via the Ctrip app before my stay, and it was never answered. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to a ”lake view” on the 23rd floor. Frankly, it was nothing special. The windows were not exactly clean on the outside, and the view didn't impress me. I appreciate the hotel for the upgrade, but much more improvement is needed. Hotel prices in Nanjing are quite high, especially the weekend I stayed due to the marathon. However, paying 355 yuan for a ok hotel was not worth it; I should have spent a little more for a place with newer facilities and better aesthetics. I've stayed in many hotels across China, and I can guarantee this one is nowhere near a true five-star rating. I thank the kind staff for their service, but the management needs to address the urgent maintenance issues. P.S. Oh, and for those who don't speak Chinese, watch out for those master switches! (Last pic) I pressed one before bed and all the lights went off, and I thought, ”Wow, that's handy! One switch to turn off everything in the room, I like it.” Turns out, that switch didn't just turn off the lights—it cut all power to the room. So, our phones were completely dead when we woke up in the morning! 🤡

Yangzhou State Guesthouse is located within a sprawling area where many of the facilities are within walking distance. It is like staying in a holiday resort. You can either walk to the different facilities or take the buggy provided. The Slender West Lake (瘦西湖） is just beside the Guesthouse and is definitely worth a visit both during the day and in the evening. A bit too hot to visit in the summer, but it will be nice during spring and/or autumn.

Onze kinderen zijn de laatste tijd helemaal gek op geschiedenis, dus besloten we spontaan om een korte trip naar Nanjing te maken, de oude hoofdstad van zes dynastieën. We boekten 's middags voor een overnachting en waren er in iets meer dan een uur met de hogesnelheidstrein en metro. De receptie was erg attent en gaf ons, gebaseerd op onze Ctrip-status, een gratis upgrade naar een kamer in het nieuwste gebouw. Ze begeleidden ons zelfs naar de lift, wat echt super was en een zeer aangename start van onze reis vormde. Op de t****e verdieping zit een Michelinsterrenrestaurant voor Nanjingse gerechten. We hebben er heerlijk gegeten, en de service was ook uitstekend. Ze adviseerden gerechten en schonken thee en water. Het is duidelijk een gerenommeerd vijfsterrenhotel, en omdat we er verbleven, werd de servicekosten ons kwijtgescholden. De locatie van het hotel is fantastisch, maar helaas hadden we maar één nacht. Tegenover het hotel ligt het beste winkelcentrum van Nanjing, met op de 8e verdieping een tentoonstelling die zeer de moeite waard is – de reis was het waard!

Excellent hotel with great location. Garden is very nice overlooking slender west lake, we made use of package photo shoot that made the trip memorable. Mr Guan, the hotel manager and his colleagues were also very helpful, he helped us recover my daughter’s phone left at the taxi ; overall very good and friendly service. 2 night package was a good choice for my family; gave us sufficient time to enjoy the hotel facilities and its service.

Excellent location not far from the Wuxi railway station, lots of food and malls nearby, staff were polite and friendly. Definitely recommend to those visiting Wuxi

Fantastic hotel. This hotel is right by Lake Tai. It has full five-star service and facilities and a great breakfast buffet spread. There’s a well attended garden within the hotel, and is walking distance to popular destinations. Room is very clean and very quiet. Very warm too despite cold spring weather. 10/10 will recommend and come again. My family loved every bit of it.

If you have any problems during your stay, you will help solve them. The hotel also has a very practical small gift. The disposable eye mask is very comfortable to use at night. The aunt is also very polite. Every time I go in and out, I will say hello and the experience is full. In addition, the hotel also has a parking lot, which is very convenient for travel. I am afraid that there is no place to park. If the parking is full, there is a temporary parking space on the roadside. The front desk lady also told us that the parking fee can be reimbursed. ～ Their hotel really likes it very much. I will come next time. Parking is convenient, and there are food nearby. It is also very convenient to travel. There is also a big supermarket opposite. The takeaway is delivered upstairs by the takeaway brother. It is really intimate. There are a lot of food to choose from, I really recommend it ～

Best location if you wanted to visit Slender Lake as the entrance is just across the road. There are restaurants to the left of the resort as well if opting to dine out. The resort is quite big, with separate buildings housing different types of rooms. Well catered for families with kids. We got the room with a hot spring inside so we didn’t visit the public one.

Een perfecte familievakantie! We komen zeker terug! Een volledige vijfsterrenrecensie is een must! Dit hotel is ongelooflijk gezinsvriendelijk. Teresa bij de receptie zag dat we een kind hadden en checkte ons snel in. Onze familiekamer was ruim en had een kindertent/schommelpaard, waar onze baby vanaf het begin dol op was. De kamer was uitgerust met kinderbadjassen, slippers en tandenborstels – perfecte aandacht voor detail! De speeltuin was een redder in nood voor ouders! Professionele instructeurs begeleidden knutselactiviteiten en spelletjes, waardoor ons kind nieuwe vriendjes kon maken en wij even konden uitrusten. Het hotel bood ook gratis babybedjes en flessenwarmers aan; alles wat we nodig hadden, werd op verzoek snel geleverd. Het zwembad had ook een verwarmd kinderbad, waar ons kind enorm van genoot. Kortom, van de faciliteiten tot de service, we voelden de toewijding van het hotel. Onze dochter zegt sindsdien dat ze terug wil, en dit is absoluut een geweldig gezinsvriendelijk hotel dat ik aan vrienden zou aanbevelen!
