Qua prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is dit het beste hotel in Athene! Met ongeveer ¥500 per nacht is het aanzienlijk beter dan de hotels van ¥1.500 aan de voet van de Akropolis – en dan heb ik het over RMB. De receptie ter plaatse maakt het inchecken gemakkelijk. De kamers zijn schoon en goed uitgerust, inclusief onverwacht keukengerei en servies. De locatie is uitstekend: het Nationaal Museum ligt op 5 minuten rijden naar het noorden, het Concordeplein op 5 minuten rijden naar het zuiden, het Syntagmaplein op 20 minuten en de Akropolis op 30 minuten – en dat is op loopafstand. Supermarkten, bakkerijen, cafés en restaurants zijn allemaal in de buurt. Ik kan dit hotel van harte aanbevelen aan Chinese reizigers die Athene bezoeken.

Een teleurstellend verblijf Allereerst brachten de medewerkers herhaaldelijk de kamerprijs in rekening en gaven ze inconsistente beschrijvingen van het geld (gelukkig heeft de klantenservice van Ctrip dit actief gecommuniceerd en geprezen!) Ten t****e zijn de kamerfaciliteiten niet erg nieuw en is de netheid gemiddeld (zoals blijkt uit de foto). Bij communicatie met het hotel over de bovenstaande kwesties is de houding van het hotelpersoneel over het algemeen nadat ze boos zijn geworden. Alleen met de houding om het probleem op te lossen, heb ik het ontbijt cadeau gedaan. Hoe dan ook, het is niet bijzonder aan te raden. We moeten ons concentreren op het prijzen van de klantenservice van Ctrip omdat deze zeer efficiënt is, problemen actief oplost en belastingen en toeslagen terugbetaalt.

De locatie is geweldig. Er zijn twee tankstations naast de deur, wat betekent dat het erg handig is om eten te kopen. Het ligt dicht bij de metro, maar om veiligheidsredenen loop ik meestal of neem ik een taxi. Het is een handige wandeling van 10 minuten naar het Akropolismuseum. Het is ook dicht bij het Plein van de Grondwet. De Tempel van Zeus ligt tegenover het hotel. Het enige nadeel is dat de ingang lastig te vinden is. Ik ging eerst naar het museum ernaast.

Het appartement is goed onderhouden, schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Er is handige ondersteuning beschikbaar en u kunt uw spullen voor en na uw verblijf in een opslagruimte achterlaten. Er is een supermarkt in de buurt en een kledingwinkel onder het appartement. Ook zijn er tal van cafés in de omgeving.

The place is in a very convenient location. Facilities are a little old. Buffet is very good. I had a trouble with the card to enter to room and the receptionist imply I didn't know how to use it I had to go twice because of that it happen 3 times during my stay of 3 nights. The cards are obsolete if they said that those inactivate when electric devises such cellphones or earphones are near. But breakfast is very good.

The place was easy to find. I'm surprised to find a good stay in the midst of Athens City. The place is clean and spacious. The cleaning lady is very friendly. Walking distance to Syntagma Square. Highly recommend to whoever needs a stay in Athens.

Athens Airport has long been my gateway between Ireland and Israel, and Sofitel is the only real comfortable option for an overnight layover. The location is unbeatable — you just walk out of the terminal, cross three zebra crossings, and you’re in the lobby. The hotel is definitely 5-star and feels it in cleanliness and comfort. The room was spotless and quiet, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee and water. However, prices are steep. Normally it’s around €400 per night for two adults and a child, though I managed to book midweek for about half that. Still expensive, but I wanted comfort — and got it. The booking didn’t clearly confirm if an extra bed was included for my child, and neither Trip nor the hotel replied to my message, though we did get the bed in the end without extra charge. Breakfast is not included in the high price, and €30 per person felt excessive, so we skipped it. Also, food options are overpriced — €22 for a “Greek salad” that oddly came with ricotta. We ended up getting Burger King from the terminal, much better value. The indoor pool was clean but the water was colder than expected and the size modest. The shower had fluctuating warm water, a small annoyance but tolerable for one night. Overall: great convenience and comfort for an airport hotel, but pricing for food and extras feels unreasonable.
