Het hotel ligt op korte loopafstand van station Hualien. Het is iets verder van de toeristische attracties en de avondmarkt, maar de gratis fietsverhuur was erg handig. Het hotel is wat gedateerd, maar gezien de prijs en de service was ik er zeer tevreden over.

Het bad was heerlijk ontspannend, de omgeving was fantastisch en het balkon was erg comfortabel. Een verblijf hier zou zeer ontspannend zijn.

Het ligt direct naast het westelijk station van Kaohsiung, dus je hoeft na het verlaten van het station geen lange afstanden te lopen. Het is ook handig omdat je gemakkelijk overal naartoe kunt, zelfs in de regen. Je ziet het heel snel als je de Zhan Xi Road oploopt. Het voelt dichterbij dan alle andere hotels in de buurt. Er zijn weinig toeristische attracties of restaurants rond het station van Kaohsiung, dus je moet een stukje lopen of naar Formosa Boulevard gaan, maar aan de andere kant was het er rustig en kon ik ontspannen en bijkomen van de vermoeidheid van mijn reis. Ik moest inchecken bij een kiosk, maar dat was geen probleem. Er was een waterserver op elke verdieping en welkomstsnacks op de kamer. Er lag wat opvallend stof in de hoeken van de kamer, maar dat was te verhelpen door de kamer schoon te maken, en het was geen probleem. Het interieur was ook niet bepaald decoratief, maar de zichtbare betonnen muren, die je zelden in Japan ziet, gaven het een ietwat ongewone sfeer, wat op zich interessant was. De kamer was ook vrij ruim, dus ik kon er gemakkelijk rondlopen, zelfs met mijn enorme koffer van 70 liter open, wat erg handig was. Er was een actie gaande tijdens mijn verblijf en ik kreeg een Uber-coupon van LINE, waarmee ik met korting een taxi kon nemen om uit moeilijk bereikbare toeristische plekken te komen.

Very positive experience. Place is quite nice if you look for a decent Hostel in Hualien (even though it might look a little bit run down from the outside). Nice roof top terrace for a night cup and 24h free flow coffee/tea is a plus. Communication with the front desk staff varies a lot, depending on the individual English language skills of the staff on duty, but has never been a real issue. Moreover, we‘ve been quite surprised having a German speaking guy there the day we‘ve checked in.

Everything was spot on! Great location to explore Taroko National Park and little walk around the hotel was also good. It’s also convenient that we could use the hotel’s facilities till 3pm even after checking out. Would love to come back to stay.

Difficult to find at night. There's no signage outside that says ”Mulan” and there is no front door or desk. Instead, you walk up a driveway to find the office which resembles a guard shack. You must also let them know every time you return so that they can open the garage door to your unit, allowing you access to your room door. The room was very impressive. Huge and very luxurious. It's a lot space to clean, so I was not surprised that it wasn't spotless, but it was fine. The fish (minnow) pond was very tiny and barely noticeable in the corner of the bathroom. Lights cannot be controlled individually, instead there are set ”scenes” that you must toggle through. Some features in the room were simply not functional (i.e. the Music controls on the bedside table and some of the jacuzzi controls. The breakfast was a mixture of Mcdonald's-type food and traditional ********* breakfast. During my stay, the smoke alarm in the garage was low on battery and chirped all night. I told the staff the next day and instead of replacing the battery they simply removed it, however I could still hear chirping smoke alarms in other adjacent units. Overall it is a great value for the price, despite the few inconveniences.

De accommodatie ligt op 10 minuten lopen van het treinstation van Taichung, dus de locatie is redelijk gunstig. De tv-kabel had een defecte aansluiting, maar door hem opnieuw in te pluggen was het probleem verholpen. Het grootste minpunt is de onvoldoende warmwatervoorziening; het is onmogelijk om een ​​goede warme douche te nemen, omdat het water halverwege afkoelt. Mensen die een warme douche belangrijk vinden, moeten hier rekening mee houden.

Deze keer verbleef ik in Kuanpin Homestay, gelegen aan de oevers van de Meilun-rivier in Hualien. Het is ongeveer 15 minuten lopen links van station Hualien, met veel restaurants en winkels onderweg, wat het erg handig maakt. De kamers waren ruim en comfortabel, en de badkamer was ook erg aangenaam. Iedereen is van harte welkom om het te ervaren tijdens een bezoek aan Hualien.
