Familieleden, jullie weten vast wel wat ik bedoel! Deze keer verbleef ik in [Twelve Cities Waterfall Immortal] en de ervaring was absoluut fantastisch!
Bij binnenkomst in de receptie werd ik verwelkomd door een stijlvolle maar gezellige sfeer. Het inchecken verliep snel en het personeel was ontzettend gastvrij en gaf zelfs handige tips voor bezienswaardigheden in de buurt. De kamer was schoon en netjes, met zacht en comfortabel beddengoed. De badkamer had een aparte douche en toilet en de toiletartikelen waren van uitstekende kwaliteit.
Het ontbijt van de herberg was ook geweldig. De locatie is perfect; vanaf het balkon heb je een prachtig uitzicht over Furong Town en de waterval, en de oude straat ligt direct voor de deur.
Ik heb absoluut de juiste keuze gemaakt door voor deze herberg te kiezen; ik kom hier zeker terug als ik weer in de buurt ben!

De kamer waar ik in woonde was vrij ruime en bood een direct uitzicht op de rivier, waardoor de verblijfsduur nog leuker werd. De woonkamer is gemakkelijk gelegen op de hoofdweg die auto's gemakkelijk kunnen bereiken, en er is een lift beschikbaar tot de vierde verdieping.
Vanaf de thuisverblijf is het gemakkelijk om te lopen naar de belangrijkste toeristische gebieden, en er zijn veel restaurants en minibars in de buurt.
De gastheer is zeer vriendelijk en handig. Ze hebben ook geholpen bij het coördineren van het vervoer van de HSR station naar de thuisverblijf, waardoor het aankomstproces zeer soepel is gemaakt.
Over het algemeen was het een comfortabele en aangenaam verblijf.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The owner is exceptionally kind, warm, and incredibly helpful, especially for travelers who are unfamiliar with Zhangjiajie.
They went above and beyond to provide us with useful travel tips and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our stay.
The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The service was truly outstanding, exceeding our expectations in every way. The location is also perfect, very strategic and convenient for exploring the main attractions in Zhangjiajie.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly, highly recommended for anyone visiting Zhangjiajie!

Hartelijk dank voor Oda's hulp. Je was vanaf het begin erg aardig, je haalde ons op van het treinstation en liet ons het dorp zien. Dank je wel ook voor de tip over een restaurant. De kamer was perfect, dankjewel voor je vriendelijkheid.

Alles verliep van begin tot eind vlekkeloos. Het hotel regelde een taxi voor me op het treinstation en bij aankomst stond er iemand klaar om me direct naar de oude stad te begeleiden, waardoor mijn aankomst heel soepel en aangenaam verliep.
De terugreis was net zo vlekkeloos en perfect georganiseerd.
De locatie is uitstekend en het hotel biedt waarschijnlijk een van de mooiste uitzichten over de stad.
Het personeel is zeer gastvrij en attent, met een eersteklas service. Bij aankomst werd me thee aangeboden en ik voelde me gedurende mijn hele verblijf zeer goed verzorgd.
Een werkelijk uitstekende plek die ik zonder aarzeling aanbeveel.

Het hotel was super. We werden door het pers9neel goed geholpen. Ze hielpen ons om de weg door de stad te vinden en de weg naar het hotel. De kamers waren schoon en ruim. Het was heel fijn om hier te verblijvem. De locatie was ook super je liep zo de stad in. Zeker een aanrader!!

The place is conveniently located near the cable car going to Tianmen mountain. We stayed at 14 flr and the city view was good. The place is neat and the restaursnt across was very delicious. They also sold the cheapest raincoat and rain shoes.

來張家界旅行，選到這家民宿真的太幸運了！
房間設施特別齊全，雙台盆的洗漱台設計貼心，傢俱陳設都很有質感，細節滿滿。衞生打掃得一塵不染，住起來特別安心。老闆人超級熱情，免費幫我們升級了房型，性價比直接拉滿！
民宿裏還有超有意義的香囊手工活動，親手做了伴手禮超有紀念感。前台還備了天門山、大峽谷等各個景區的遊玩攻略和地圖，幫我們省了超多做攻略的時間，太貼心了！
老闆是攝影愛好者，民宿裏一整面牆都是他拍的張家界山水和民俗作品。最絕的是房間窗外的山景，推窗就是連綿的青山和錯落的別墅，視野絕了，每天醒來都被治癒！
來張家界玩，下次來還住這兒！

De kamer is schoon en netjes. De toiletartikelen zijn compleet en schoon. Er is een gratis ophaalservice beschikbaar bij het hogesnelheidstreinstation. Het ligt vlak naast de magneetzweeftrein. De eigenaar kan u ook helpen bij het kopen van tickets met korting. Het ligt ook heel dicht bij de oude stad. Het is erg handig om in de buurt te eten. De kamer met uitzicht op de rivier is prachtig. Vrienden die naar de oude stad Fenghuang willen komen, dit is een goede keuze

The hotel is modern and well equipped. I arrived late evening and the staff at reception help me to experience local food, it was great following 18 hours of travel. The house keeper pulled out a car and took me to the famous barbecue restaurant at my request, waited while I ordered the food and took me back. I have never experienced this hospitality in a China hotel. Thank you to all the reception staff and the housekeeper XiaoXiao. That’s how you get return custom.

GGuest Usereasily the best stay ever, from the location to the to the whole experience of the stay, from the friendly staffs who were so accommodating to our requests, to being greeted by their friendly companions (shoutout to wang wang and dudu, two super adorable dogs). 4 nights there was such a dream, the view of our room overlooking the mountain, to the whole ambience that foggy valley offers, seriously stunning. not forgetting their restaurant, the dishes offered are of a variety, and it tastes so homely!
and the breakfast offered also serves a huge variety, you won’t get sick of it.
overall, we made a superb decision to stay at foggy valley as our stay in ZJJ, after a full day of walking and climbing and touring ZJJ, this is the kind of stay you want to come back to ☺️

🛏️ 1. Exactly as pictured & Great value for money
- The room is fantastic, very new, and spotlessly clean. I booked a room with a bathtub and got the 4th floor. It looked exactly like the photos. The price in late March was amazing—less than $30/night (getting a bathtub at this price is super worth it!). The furniture looks brand new.
- The bathroom is great, with clearly separated wet and dry zones. It has a smart toilet with a heated seat and auto-flush!
- Amenities are quite complete. However, the hotel provides disposable towels. If you have a larger build, they might not cover you completely (I'm petite, so it didn't bother me), but the material is highly absorbent.
- Good to know: the building has an elevator, but you do have to carry your luggage up a few steps to reach the entrance, so it's not 100% wheelchair accessible. But once inside, you can comfortably use the elevator without carrying your bags up to the higher floors.
📍 2. Quiet location but easy to get around
- The hotel is slightly tucked away from the busy, bright areas, making it very quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep.
- Getting to the park is super easy. You can catch a Didi to the East Gate, and it’s very cheap—only about $0.70 per ride.
- As for food, even though it's not right next to convenience stores or restaurants, you can easily order food delivery. If you want to eat out, you can take a Didi or walk to the restaurant area. It's not far, less than 1 kilometer away.
👩🏻💼 3. Friendly owner & Excellent service
- The owner manages the reception herself and is extremely hospitable. She gives great advice on exploring the park. Whether you plan a 1-day or 2-day itinerary, she can recommend the perfect walking route. I planned a 2-day trip, so she suggested entering via the East Gate on the first day and the South Gate on the second day.
- She is always in a good mood and genuinely seems to love her work. Her bright energy makes talking to her an absolute joy 🤣 I was so impressed!
- Her English is okay for basic communication, but for convenience and speed, we used WeChat. The translation feature made it smooth, and we understood each other perfectly.
🎟️ 4. Better ticket discounts through the hotel
- I highly recommend this! If you need tickets, let the hotel book them for you—the prices are actually better than booking through popular travel apps.
- Whether it's the national park ticket (she also helps book your entry time slot for every day you plan to visit—though if you want to change the time, you need to ask her to update it for you), Baofeng Lake, or the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, she can get them at a cheaper price.
- Another perk is the unpredictable weather in Zhangjiajie. Letting her book day-by-day or close to the date means you don't have to risk booking too far in advance. I changed my plan easily because of fog and rain, and it was completely stress-free.
🚑 5. A personal note of gratitude (why I'm writing this review so long)
Late at night on March 25th, I had a medical emergency. I reached out to the owner, and she was incredibly helpful. She actually left the hotel counter to take me to the hospital and helped sort everything out 😭🙏 (I truly apologize to the other guests staying that night!). I was so touched and grateful, and didn't know how else to repay her, so I wanted to write this review to pass on the good word.
Summary: This stay was super comfortable and truly heartwarming. Not only because of how much she helped me, but the rooms and facilities are genuinely excellent. If you're looking for a place to stay, please keep this hotel in mind! ❤️
Zhangjiajie StarField Hotel (Wulingyuan Sign Gate Branch)

EEduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app.
The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one.
You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station.
[ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations.
The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends.
There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village.
For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate.
About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan.
Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

GGuest UserI especially want to commend the hotel's shuttle service! The hotel contacted us in advance and arranged for a driver to wait for us punctually at the station. They even proactively helped us with our luggage, so we didn't have to scramble in an unfamiliar place – that seamless transition felt absolutely fantastic. The breakfast was an even bigger surprise; it was a buffet with a rich variety of options, including both Chinese and Western dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and items were replenished promptly. We could always leave full and ready for our day of exploring, which even saved us lunch money! In terms of service, everyone from the driver and front desk staff to the restaurant team and housekeeping aunties was incredibly warm and polite. All in all, this is a very thoughtful hotel!

AArina DurdinaStaying at this guesthouse was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Zhangjiajie. We were traveling with our 4-year-old child, and the main purpose of our journey was to visit Zhangjiajie National Park — and this place made the experience absolutely unforgettable.
From the very beginning, the service was exceptional. The atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely family-like. You are treated not just as a guest, but as a truly valued part of the household. Since we were traveling with a child, we were kindly offered a two-bedroom apartment — an incredible gesture that made our stay exceptionally comfortable.
The sleep quality deserves special praise: the bedding, pillows, and blankets are all of the highest standard. You sink into sleep as if you were staying in a top luxury hotel. The interior is beautifully designed — a tasteful blend of East and West, with great attention to detail. Everything, from the bathroom fixtures to the toiletries, is carefully chosen and of excellent quality.
The staff’s kindness and care deserve a separate mention. Our “auntie” was available for us at any moment through a private WeChat group, ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was freshly prepared every morning, and the chef is simply outstanding. All meals are Chinese cuisine, cooked with love, and always adapted to our child’s preferences. We ended up having dinner at the guesthouse every night because it felt like home-cooked comfort food.
The location is another huge advantage — only a 5-minute drive to the Southeast Gate of Zhangjiajie National Park, which is the most convenient entrance with the best choice of routes. The guesthouse provided transfers to the park and also arranged our pick-up from the airport in advance.
The property has 17 rooms of different sizes — one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, some with terraces overlooking spectacular scenery. The guesthouse is set in a peaceful and picturesque area where you can take short walks, observe local village life, and enjoy stunning views from every angle.
Overall, this place made our trip truly special. It combines comfort, warmth, thoughtful service, and a perfect location. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie — you will feel at home, cared for, and surrounded by beauty. If you want your journey to be unforgettable, this is the place to stay.

DDoudoufei625The hotel's location is super convenient, right on Qifeng Square, with the shuttle bus stop directly outside. You can see the hotel as soon as you get off, and it has the most prominent facade in the vicinity.
Upon check-in, we received complimentary fruit, and when we checked out, we were given a small souvenir. The room was equipped with a smart assistant (XiaoDu) that controlled the curtains and TV. Breakfast was quite substantial, offering freshly made rice noodles, scrambled eggs, pastries, and desserts. It was served from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and even if you woke up late and arrived closer to 9 AM, there was still plenty of food available until everyone had finished eating.
It's just a few minutes' walk to Hongqiao. If you go down the stairs to the right of Hongqiao and then turn right again, you can catch the night boat tour. It's worth pre-booking a combined ticket for the scenic area. The night tour lasts about 25 minutes, and the illuminated scenery is stunning, with performances like Cui Cui along the Tuojiang River.

GGuest UserThis hotel is quite clean, and the bathroom and shower are separated. It's very close to the East Gate of the National Forest Park and offers great value for money! The two ladies at the front desk, in particular, provided excellent service and were always willing to help. We had originally bought tickets on ** [redacted, likely a platform name] but then the front desk staff told us the hotel offered a ticket booking service that was cheaper than what we'd paid. So, all four of us canceled our original tickets and had the lovely ladies help us book new ones. The front desk staff were incredibly dedicated and even helped us plan our itinerary, saving us a lot of time. This hotel is definitely worth recommending.

ZZhixianjuThe two-bedroom suite is very spacious, and all three beds are large and comfortable. The washing machine is incredibly convenient for daily laundry, especially when traveling with kids. The owner provides complimentary breakfast, and you can also order delicious local home-style dishes for lunch and dinner. The best part is that the owner has two cars and offers free daily pick-up and drop-off services for guests. They are also excellent at planning itineraries, so you absolutely won't need a tour guide when staying at this guesthouse!

We stayed for two nights at the Suxin Tianmen Yinlu Hotel and were pleasantly surprised by its comfort, location, and service. It’s an excellent choice for travellers planning to explore Tianmen Mountain and the surrounding area.
Location: 8.5/10. The hotel is conveniently located just a 15 minute walk from the entrance to Tianmen Mountain National Park and the Tianmen Cableway station. This made it easy for us to start our day early and avoid the busiest crowds.
The hotel is a bit old, but it’s well maintained and clean. Our room was quiet and comfortable, with everything we needed for a good rest after long days of exploring.
The staff were incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They gave us useful tips on the best routes and timing for Tianmen Mountain, helping us avoid long queues. A special mention goes to the breakfast they prepared for us. Despite the hotel not having a formal restaurant, the staff took care to arrange a hearty and delicious breakfast each morning. It included local specialties and some Western options — exactly what we needed to fuel up for a day of hiking.
Value for money: 9/10. For a 2‑night stay, the price felt very fair. You get a clean, comfortable room in a strategic location with exceptionally kind and helpful staff — exactly what you need when exploring Tianmen Mountain.
Minor notes: the hotel’s design is a bit dated, but this didn’t affect our comfort in any way. The focus here is clearly on practicality and hospitality rather than modern aesthetics.
I would definitely recommend the Suxin Tianmen Yinlu Hotel to anyone visiting Tianmen Mountain for 1–3 nights. It’s not a luxury resort, but its convenient location, clean rooms, and wonderful staff make it a practical and welcoming choice.

RRachchelloThis hostel is 40min drive away from the high speed rail station but conveniently located 5 min drive away from the west gate, which allows one to escape from the queues. We were here during the Easter holidays and even then, didn’t have to queue up for the cable cars or eco buses. Most tourists entered via the East/South Gates thus we traveled from a counter direction. There isn’t much around the hostel so be prepared to fully immerse into the quietude of village life and the songs of roosters and birds. The nearest “town” (a few supermarkets and maybe two village restaurants)is also 5min drive away and Xiaozhao nicely offered us a drive on the Buggy. There isn’t any taxi around. The ride from here to downtown ZZJ or the high speed rail station would cost around RMB200.
I like most the scenery from our spacious veranda, with a view to some classical zhangjiajie landforms, and equipped with a huge tea table and a jacuzzi. It was raining often, but I had fully enjoyed my waiting time till the sky cleared up.
Xiaozhao took meticulous care of us - he quickly tended to any requests and offered great recommendations on travel routes. The compound is deeply surrounded by trees and offered good privacy. Food is a little overpriced but taste is good.
Drawbacks…as they position as a high-end boutique hotel, the facilities and decors are a bit aged. TV screen was small by current standard and they can do better with the coffee.
