This is a wonderful Hotel. We are getting married and had our reception dinner there as well as put family up there for the night. The service, staff, food and facilities were great. Will most certainly recommend this place to anyone.

In Galway for Connacht game having stayed elsewhere first night delighted to find room for extra night. From booking to arrival , all interaction with staff who were very busy was so helpful and friendly. Food ok but so busy, service staff were still so pleasant . Thank you

Het hotel is erg handig als u van Dublin naar Galway reist, aangezien het aan de snelweg ligt en slechts een paar minuten omrijden is. De bedden zijn comfortabel en het ontbijt is een buffet. Parkeren is gratis.

We stayed on the 5th of September. It's a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed everything about this place except the unbearable heat in the room. It was impossible to sleep. There was a portable fan but it was very noisy.And even when it's on, it wasn't helpful. No air conditioner. We had a very poor sleep. And no matter how much we enjoyed the gym, swimming pool, food, friendly staff and the atmosphere of the hotel, we would not stay here next time.

Nice hotel, But I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathtub. When I added hot water to the bathtub, a lot of dust and even a hair came out. I had to wash and rinse the tub several times to get it clean. I understand that hotel service is low in Ireland, but this is a 4-star hotel. The price for rooms is high for Europe. It would be great, at least nice to clean. Breakfast was great, delicious.

A retreat of a hotel. Mostly older guests, calm and peaceful. Very comfortable large room. Located in a very scenic place in splendid isolation. Food is fantastic, the staff are attentive. One night we had a harpist, really nice. Only fault is that it can be too quiet for some, but if you want to get away, relax, read a book a d chill out then it’s ideal.

Amazing
Amazing accomodation in Athenry. We booked this accomodation because it was a 20 minute train ride from Galway and the lodge was a very short walk from the train station. We really enjoyed being at the Lodge at the Old Barracks. The accomodation had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. But what was a true highlight was the breakfast at the cafe below (included with our booking) - the food was so delicious and better than any other hotel breakfast I’ve had. Would come back just for the breakfast!!  Small note, the floor above creaked when the people moved around the room above which was a bit of a disturbance early in the morning or at night.  But overall, would 10/10 recommend!

GGuest UserThe location is good, close to restaurants and supermarkets. I didn’t like that so many things were broken. The shelf in the bathroom was loose and tilted, the wall lights next to the beds needed tightened as well, as they flipped on the side. The bathroom door handle and lock didn’t work. We had some long dark hair in our room. A lot was broken or crooked. It was ok for one night, but I wouldn’t stay longer. The girl at the desk was not very knowledgeable regarding her surroundings. I’ve asked about the Burren.  The Italian restaurant was good, the breakfast in the morning was good as well. However I emailed the hotel for gluten free options but I didn’t get any.
