"Great location a couple of minutes walk from the Kintetsu line station and tons of restaurants. Check-in was a fun and unusual experience! The room was spotlessly clean, the King bed was huge and the room was super quiet. All the amenities you could need: shrink wrapping clothes, microwave, laundry machines…and best of all free luggage storage. Had we realised this we would have saved the 2700yen we spent on lockers at the station. Breakfast had a great selection. We loved it so much we booked the Kyoto branch for our next nights stay, where we have just checked in to today."

"Good: Good cost performance, Good staff, great variety of food, convenient location - next to train station and convenience stores, signs are in english and Japanese. Staff have limited english skills which is ready good for simple requests I think. Bad: room seems to have no air conditioning (cool cold air) - the ”air condition” dail only has fan speed not temperature and it blows warm air. The window gives cold air but can be noisy, especially at day time with construction work going on nearby unless window is left very slightly ajar. Overall it's fine but not sure how good it is in the summer without air-conditioning."

"Exceeded expections on all grounds! I am so happy with the hotel I wanted to spread the word. This hotel has great old world charm and more. I was a little worried about the condition of the hotel (more than 100 years old!) but everything was fine. I stayed at the Main Wing / basic room with park view. The bathroom was basic (business hotel like) but very clean, but the room / bedding and the view at our window was wonderful. Given the low price point, we were very happy with the room. Definitely recommend the Main Wing, and if you can, a room with higher price point. All staff, from shuttle bus / concierge / front desk / bar, are excellent. We really enjoyed the check in process - you can sit at the lounge admiring Einstein's piano while the front staff comes calling your name. Also try the tea lounge both during the day and night (turns to a bar). I would also like to extend special thanks to Korean speaking front manager Lee Su Jin who helped us in so many ways. She really made our stay comfortable. One thing to note about Nara city itself is that most venues close at 4pm and have unpredictable operating hours. You can't just walk around hoping to sit down at a cafe or restaurant. Highly recommend making reservations in advance of your trip and I'm sure Nara hotel concierge can help with this. I really enjoyed Nara Hotel and look really forward to returning."

"We stayed at the penthouse which oversaw the whole Nara city and its cherry blossoms so the view from the room is spectacular. The room has a private outdoor bathtub which is available 24/7. It was so nice to take a hot bath outdoor with the view of Nara. The penthouse also has a fireplace which is a nice spot at night for sky glazing."

"Ik vind Nara erg fijn, omdat dit Novotel de algehele indruk van Nara heeft verbeterd. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is hier erg goed. De omgeving en de faciliteiten overtreffen mijn verwachtingen. Normaal gesproken is de algehele sfeer van Novotel zakelijker, maar het badhuis van het hotel is erg goed, nieuw en schoon. Hoewel het geen speciaal warmwaterbronhotel is, biedt het Refa's douchekoppen en föhns, die erg verfijnd zijn. Er zijn veel Häagen-Dazs in de zelfbedieningsautomaten en de prijs is erg laag. Het ontbijt is ook uitstekend voor een Japans niveau, en ik heb ook kakibladsushi gegeten. Het bedienend personeel spreekt eindelijk Engels. Ze hielpen me midden in de nacht met het repareren van de transformator. Hoewel de locatie niet bijzonder centraal is, rijden er bussen en shuttlebussen voor de deur.
