Everything was great. The location is amazing and the host is super friendly and spoke English. He went above and beyond to make my stay and my travel easier and more comfortable. I Cannot recommend enough.

We had a fantastic stay with my family at this hotel. We got 2 rooms and at check in time, they upgraded us for free to better rooms with views of Qinghai lake from our balcony! The hotel and rooms were spacious, spotless and in excellent condition. The hotel is quite new (opened in 2023). About 3-4 mins drive from the main Qinghai lake scenic spot so fantastic location. The hotel is surrounded by mountains which have a lot of sheep , Yak, goats etc grazing on them. So you get both the mountain feeling as well as the lake feeling and it really helps soothe the soul and make one feel relaxed. The service of the hotel staff was always excellent, warm and attentive. The food was delicious and halal!!! We were so happy about this as we could enjoy delicious Qinghai cuisine worry free :-). Highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be coming back to this hotel on our future trip to Qinghai lake.

We stayed at Sofitel Xining for a total of four nights, and our experience was exceptional from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are modern and spacious, and the facilities (pool, gym, executive lounge) are world-class — but what truly made the difference was the incredible hospitality. A very special thank you to Lucy and Mia at the front desk. Their warm welcome, kindness, and proactive support made us feel genuinely cared for. They went above and beyond to help us during our stay — from arranging transportation to providing great local recommendations. Their professionalism combined with their friendliness made every interaction a pleasure. We also want to thank Jenny, the Staff Manager, for her attention to detail and personal care. She checked on us several times to make sure everything was perfect, and we felt truly valued as guests. It’s rare to experience this level of service — we felt more like friends than hotel guests. Highly recommended. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Xining.

I will start off by saying that the room and bathroom were well appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. However, whilst the room was generally clean, when I dropped something that subsequently rolled under a fitted unit, I was pretty disgusted to see the dust and filth beneath it. It clearly had not been cleaned for…well…ever? I appreciate that these areas will not be as clean as the more visible parts of the room, however for a five star hotel, this is unacceptable. I do not expect to find dirty tissues and a thick layer of dust and dirt anywhere in my hotel room. But by far the absolute worst part of my stay was the inability to control the temperature in the room whatsoever. The room was so swelteringly hot that despite the comfortable bed, and everything to go with it, I was almost unable to sleep at all. I do not expect this in a five star hotel(and have never experienced it other than here and at anther Wanda hotel in Hohhot), I pay for luxury; controlling the room temperature is a basic requirement that I can even do in a 50 yuan a night hostel dorm. When I asked the staff at reception the following morning I was told the AC wouldn’t be available until after April 15th because ‘it’s cold outside’. Firstly, I am not sleeping outside, I am sleeping inside, on the 22nd floor, where it is anything but cold. Not to mention it was April, not January, even in Xining it is not that cold. Secondly, as a paying guest, in a five star hotel, it should be up to me to decide if it is hot or cold, not the hotel. For this reason, as lovely as the room, staff and breakfast may have been, I would not stay here again. I checked out and moved to the lower rated Hilton, where I could control the room temperature and actually managed to sleep…generally what the whole point of a hotel is.

It was an absolute pleasure staying at the Campanile hotel in Xining! From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcomed. Despite my early arrival, the staff, especially Marie, Xiaojing, and Xiaoma, were so kind and accommodating, allowing me to check in without any hassle. The thoughtful touches throughout my stay truly made it exceptional. The welcome fruits upon arrival were a lovely surprise, and the complimentary breakfast was a fantastic start to the day. My room was not only sparkling clean and incredibly comfortable but also offered a great view of the city – a real treat! What truly sets the Campanile apart is the exceptional service. Marie, Xiaojing, and Xiaoma were always ready to assist with a smile, going above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. The added bonus of free laundry facilities was also incredibly convenient. To top it all off, the farewell gift was such a sweet and unexpected gesture. It's clear that the team at the Campanile in Xining genuinely cares about their guests' experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and extend my sincere thanks to Marie, Xiaojing, and Xiaoma for making my stay so memorable. I will definitely be choosing the Campanile again on my next visit to Xining! I forgot! It is walking distance from the bus and train station

The hotel was new. We got updated to the executive room and the room was huge. Everything is good except the A/C as we could not control the room temperature even it was 28C inside.

De indeling van de kamer is redelijk, het beddengoed is hygiënisch en de kamer heeft zuurstoftoevoer, maar het lijkt nutteloos. Er is direct drinkwater. Het ontbijt in het hotel is oké, maar de vloer is behoorlijk stoffig en de witte kindersokken worden na een tijdje zwart. Ik hoop ook dat de winkel de hygiëne zal verbeteren. Het grootste probleem is dat er geen brandmaskers in de hotelkamers aanwezig zijn, wat een relatief groot brandgevaar oplevert. Ik hoop dat de winkel het zo snel mogelijk kan goedmaken voor ieders veiligheid.

Very good hotel, the town is very small, this accommodation is particularly good, the service is good, recommend the knife noodle shop next to the hotel, the big plate chicken is particularly big! Super delicious, I heard that it was opened by an Anhui boss, the dishes are all fresh and fried, the vegetables are also very delicious! The price in the town is not low, but this store is delicious.

Dit is het startpunt van onze Qinghai-Gansu Loop Line. Het hotel ligt op een zeer goede locatie, op het centrale plein van Xining, en de hoge gebouwen zijn van een afstand te zien. Er is een grote ondergrondse parkeergarage, wat erg handig is. De hotelservice is ook erg goed. De receptie is enthousiast en bezorgt speciale yoghurtsnacks op de kamer. Als je iets nodig hebt, bel dan het klantenservicenummer en ze reageren snel. Het hotel verdient 5 sterren en is zeer tevreden over het hotel. Het buffet van het hotel is uitstekend en er zijn kortingen voor hotelgasten. Ik raad het ten zeerste aan.

Echt een fijn hotel op ongeveer 15 minuten lopen van het treinstation. Voor toeristen zoals ik die geen WeChat- en Alipay-betaalmethoden nodig hebben, accepteert dit hotel zonder problemen je Visa-kaart! Het ontbijt heeft enorm veel opties, oh mijn god! Ze hebben noedels, verschillende soorten gebakken groenten, gebakken en gekookte eieren, broodjes, brood en yoghurt. Ik kwam vroeg aan en had geluk dat er nog een kamer vrij was, dus die kregen ze, ondanks de inchecktijd van 14:00 uur. De receptie spreekt een beetje Engels. Ik vroeg de receptie of het goed is als ik morgen om 19:00 uur uitcheck, en ze zeiden ja. De volgende dag werd me verteld dat ik moest vertrekken. Maar ik zei dat ik rond 19:00 uur wilde vertrekken. Ik heb het gisteren nog gevraagd, maar de receptie zei dat het goed was. Er zijn dus misverstanden op dat gebied, maar goed, het is China en ik weet hoe moeilijk het is om te spreken. De receptie zei dat ik de volle prijs moest betalen en ik vroeg of ik maar de helft kon betalen, aangezien ik om 19:00 uur vertrek. Ik heb dus 5 uur extra nodig, omdat mijn trein om 21:00 uur vertrekt. Xining is zo anders dan andere steden in China; er zijn hier minder wachtrijen. Ik dacht dat ik lang in de rij zou staan ​​op het station, maar er is helemaal geen wachtrij. Maar goed, het is toch het beste om vroeg te gaan, zodat je je niet hoeft te haasten.
