"The hotel is in downtown Walvis Bay and not a particularly far walk from the Esplanade. While the staff were truly excellent and very friendly, the room itself was in not the greatest condition. The closet door had significant damage to it from the entrance door constantly banging into it, the bathroom door was literally on a sliding track, and the toilet was right next to the door at an odd angle that made positioning very unusual. However, the worst part of the room was that the bed sheet had the remains of a significant blood stain on it, but I cannot be 100% sure. Aside from the room that seriously needs renovation, the breakfast was quite good."

"Really nice rooms, such a peaceful and quiet area. Service was great and friendly people. Close to the lagoon to get in a nice walk, and close to The Raft to get some good food. "

"A very traditional old-Africa style hotel with thatched roof. Perfect location for walking along the sea front, watching wildlife, or going into town. The service was excellent. The waiter was very friendly and insightful and interesting to talk to. They helped me to park my motorcycle safely. One evening the restaurant was a bit busy so they brought food to my room. Swimming pool is nice. Seals, pelicans, flamingoes, wading birds. Also saw a dolphin along the coast."

"Walvis Bay is not a large town so hotels are not widely available. Nevertheless, given paucity of Hotels, this hotel did rate high on TA reviews. The car I had booked well ahead of time wasn’t there at the Airport. It wasn’t a good feeling to find yourself in a strange country all by yourself. I had to make a few expensive calls, since I had to use my phone which was on roaming, to the hotel. The hotel reception called the driver and had him return to pick me up. This is Africa so getting angry is a waste of time😤. Check in at the hotel was a breeze and this lovely young lady by the name of Kesia, took care of my check in and during my stay. The room was redone (or so I was told) but WiFi was spotty but usable. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the Bay. The only downer of the room was that water drainage of the shower seemed to be blocked so one had only a limited time to take a shower before the water overflowed into the toilet. I did complain to the Reception but I was leaving after 2 night so I told them to get it done after I’ve left the hotel. Breakfast was very nice but as being Africa, very dependent on beef. Since I don’t eat beef or pork, I’m always stuck with eggs. There was enough of fruits so I always had a very full breakfast on both days. I had dinner on my first night at the hotel and I must say, I enjoyed the lamb chop which was grilled to my liking and was very filling. Overall, a very nice albeit basic hotel (considering where I’ve stayed in) but very nice staff with a special mention to Kesia. She may just be the youngest team member there but always helpful and friendly. I hope the hotel keeps her there since the guests will always be in good hands."

"Het Flamingo Hotel is misschien een beetje gedateerd, maar dat wordt volledig gecompenseerd door het zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel. We hebben heerlijk gedineerd en genoten van een uitgebreid en verzorgd ontbijt. Ook de bedden waren uitzonderlijk comfortabel, waardoor we echt goed geslapen hebben."

"Mijn verblijf was goed, de locatie is absoluut perfect gelegen naast de lagoon, die is geweldig. Ontbijt en personeel goed, zeer nuttig. De kamer heeft echter geen schuurborden alleen een hangende rack, dus dat is een beetje ongemakkelijk. Maar overal had ik een goede verblijf."

"Mooi hotel in de stad. Mijn kamer was prachtig, groot, met een grote badkamer en alles was perfect. U kunt buiten ontspannen in de patio. Het spul was zeer vriendelijk en handig. In de ochtend heb je een goed ontbijt opgenomen in de prijs. Parkeerplaats in de garage dus alles is veilig. Alle ervaring was geweldig."
