Marriott's StreamSide Douglas at Vail

"The villa and resort exceeded expectations. The 1BR villa was very spacious and appeared recently refreshed. I had a corner villa with the best view of the mountains. The fire place worked well. Only suggestion is one larger bathroom rather than 2 smaller ones, though occasionally having 2 bathrooms was convenient. Kitchen was fully stocked with more plates and cups I could need for a week. Neighbors cooked a deliciously smelling meal one night. I was tempted to knock on their door and ask if they had room for 2 more. Covered parking was limited in Douglas, especially on the weekend. There was plenty of spaces during mid week. The ski locker was very convenient and made use of it rather then bringing equipment all the way up into the villa. The indoor/outdoor pool and indoor hot tub was a treat. Locker room was immaculate. Outdoor hot tub at the activity center was not open at this time. Douglas building was a short walk to the pool area. Pool table and pool sticks could have used some love. The shuttle to Lionshead and Vail villages was convenient enough. We only drove to Vail Village once because we had just missed the shuttle and parking was free after 3pm on non-peak days. This was very convenient. Westside Cafe is very close to the resort and has excellent food (they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.) Few restaurants deliver to the resort. Safeway is also very close to the resort and is open until 11pm. The resort could benefit from having an onsite market, but by no means a deal breaker. Overall my stay exceeded expectations. I was wary at first knowing it was a smaller resort without onsite restaurants or markets. However everything you need is close by and having shuttle service is key. Free parking, no resort fees and free shuttle makes this resort a winner. "

"I reserved a studio villa at Birch and it has a murphy bed. I honestly think the one weird thing (and I've stayed at other places/hotels with Murphy beds) was there were no sheets ready to go on the bed and pillows were no where to be found. Had to dig around and I found a bag in the closet that had a flat sheet and a pillow, but surely it is all extra bedding. Not even a comforter to be found. Never had to make my own bed in a hotel..."

"We hadden een 3-kamer suite, die geweldig was. Alle aspecten van de service bij de Ritz waren top, inclusief tweemaal per dag dienst. We gingen naar de Iron Mountain Hot Springs, die zeer ontspannen was. We hebben ook de ATV Tour van Leadville gemaakt, die moest worden gedaan als je in de buurt bent. We hebben golf gespeeld op Eagle Vail, Eagle Ranch en de Vail Golf Course, waarvan alle de prijs waard waren (alle beneden $190. De zondagsmarkt in Vail is verbazingwekkend en we hebben verschillende lokale producten gekocht. We zaten in het Ritz zwembad, eten enkele dagen op de plaatselijke Vail restaurants, maar we hebben ook in onze volledige keuken gekookt 4 avonden van 9 we waren er. We gebruikten de ongelooflijke fitnessruimte bij de Ritz en wandelden 3 plus mijlen per dag langs de Gorge River trail. Elke avond om 4 hebben ze Hot Chocolade Chip cookies en om 5 uur bieden ze 10e Mountain bourbon schoten om de 10e Mountain Company te toasten, dat was een belangrijke reden dat Vail, Breckenridge en andere skigebieden in het gebied bestaan! All of these activities we did every day with big smiles on our face. We also enjoyed the daily evening live music either inside at the bar or outside at the fire pit with s’mores. We hated to leave after our 9 day stay."
